41-Year-Old Lindsey Vonn Gives Honest Take About Teaming Up With Younger Teammates

Lindsey Vonn came out of retirement last year, announcing her return to alpine skiing in November 2024 at the age of 40. Just months into her comeback, she clinched the silver medal in the Super-G at the World Cup Finals in Idaho, leaving fans in awe.

Although athletes often find it challenging to connect with teammates much younger than themselves, Vonn shared that age hasn’t been a barrier for her.

What Did Lindsey Vonn Say About Her Younger Teammates’ Attitude?

While acknowledging the age difference between her and her teammates, Vonn appreciated the energy and attitude of her young teammates.

During her recent interview, the 2010 downhill Olympic champion stated, “These young women also have such a great attitude and energy about them that it really makes being around them easy and fun..Even though I’m twice as old as them, we still get along great.”

Vonn also reflected that her age and experience give her an advantage. She added, “I don’t see age as necessarily a negative; it’s just completely different generations.”

“You don’t always mesh with your teammates, and because we’re so different in age, you might not assume we would all get along, but we really do. We have so many different personality types, and we’re all working together towards the same goal”, the 82-time World Cup champion added.

In addition, she expressed her enthusiasm for being part of the USA team alongside other younger athletes.
