At times when Tamil cinema turned its films towards violence and bloodshed, this film builds on drama and comedy. Despite some of its problematic and partial takes that lean towards men, Aan Paavam Pollathathu capitalises on the everyday comedy and emotions. Further, the climax of the film, which also talks about anti-divorce (however regressive it may be), it appears to the sentiments of larger audience of a society which still upholds traditional beliefs.
