Guwahati: Assam CM Himanta Biswa Sarma has dismissed any potential threat from the newly formed coalition of Congress and seven other political parties ahead of the assembly elections. This comes in the wake of the Mahagathbandhan’s failure to halt the NDA in the Bihar assembly elections.Congress, on the other hand, said there are differences between the elections in Bihar and Assam and, therefore, the opposition alliance here is optimistic.

“The coalition formed in Assam recently has not been formed for the elections. It has been formed with another purpose. We are not worried at all about the opposition coalition formed here,” the CM said. He predicted that every single member of every single household will vote for BJP.
“The results in Assam will be beyond expectation,” he added.Sarma said the opposition parties are not on the ground. Rather, they are busy holding meetings in hotels. “It is the NDA leaders and workers who are relentlessly working on the ground across the state,” he added. He further said Congress leader Rahul Gandhi is the brand ambassador for BJP as the saffron party wins the seat wherever he goes to campaign.State BJP president Dilip Saikia said the results in Bihar will greatly encourage BJP workers in Assam.
He added that under the leadership of PM Narendra Modi, the BJP-led central govt has been tirelessly working since 2014 with the vision of a developed India, ensuring inclusive development across all regions of the country.He stated that the development initiatives of the central govt and the relentless efforts of the BJP–JDU govt in Bihar to build a Shreshtha Bihar (A Better Bihar) have led to all-round progress in the state.
“As a result, the people of Bihar have broken all barriers and blessed the BJP–JDU alliance through the EVMs in this election.The massive victory of the Narendra Modi–led BJP and Nitish Kumar–led JDU alliance in today’s results has once again established the strength of nationalism in Bihar,” he added.Congress state president Gaurav Gogoi said, “In Assam, people belonging to different tribes are ready to bid adieu to the dictatorship of the CM Himanta Biswa Sarma-led govt. They are certain to bring a govt in the state under the leadership of Congress,” he added.Meanwhile, without taking anyone’s name, Assam Pradesh BJP in a post on X wrote: “We sincerely apologize for upsetting the “national child” on Children’s Day. Truly unfortunate.”
