Pakistan Army Chief Field Marshal Asim Munir has claimed that “divine intervention” helped Pakistan during the military conflict with India earlier this year, remarks that have resurfaced after a video of his speech went viral on social media.
In the undated clip, which Pakistani media reports indicate is from December 10, Munir is heard invoking religious imagery while referring to the conflict with India in May, following New Delhi’s launch of Operation Sindoor after the Pahalgam terror attack.

Speaking in Urdu during a public address, Munir cited a Quranic verse — “If Allah helps you, none can overcome you” — and suggested that Pakistan had experienced divine support during the conflict.
He said such intervention was “felt”, using faith-based and metaphorical language to imply that unseen forces aided Pakistan at a critical moment.
Videos of the speech have since gone viral on X and other social media platforms. News18 could not independently verify the authenticity or the full context of the clip.
General What Happened During Operation Sindoor
India launched Operation Sindoor in early May in response to the Pahalgam terror attack, which killed 26 people. During the operation, the Indian Air Force (IAF) struck multiple terror camps deep inside Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir.
The strikes hit key terror camps and launchpads in areas including Bahawalpur and Muridke in Pakistan’s Punjab province, long known as hubs for Pakistan-based terror groups, as well as camps in Muzaffarabad and Kotli in PoK. Officials said the targets included camps used for recruitment, weapons training and infiltration planning, describing the operation as a precision effort aimed at degrading terror networks.
They said the counter-terror operation also damaged runways at several Pakistani air bases and neutralised air defence assets, significantly degrading Pakistan’s ability to respond. The operation lasted under half an hour and was described by New Delhi as a high-impact, short-duration mission aimed at dismantling terror infrastructure without escalating into a wider conflict. Indian ministers have often highlighted that Operation Sindoor is an ongoing counter-terrorism exercise and will be used to deter forces inimical towards India and who threaten peace and stability of the South Asian region.
