Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu has set a target of achieving a per capita income of ₹3.47 lakh by the 2025–26 financial year.
In a review meeting with the officials of the Department of Planning in Amaravati on Monday, the Chief Minister directed the officials to draw up a strategy to increase per capita income to ₹5.42 lakh by 2029.
The per capita income of Andhra Pradesh for 2024-25 is estimated at ₹2,68,653, higher than the national average of ₹2,00,162, as per the State Government data.
“Government departments must prepare and implement advance plans in their respective sectors. We should work with vision aligned to short, medium and long-term goals. We must identify global trends and seize emerging opportunities,’‘ he said in the review meeting.
While asking the officials to take the family as a unit while designing schemes and programs, Naidu said. Along with welfare schemes, initiatives should also be taken to increase income of households in the State. The Government policies and public mindset should align in a way that benefits the environment, he added.
