Entertainment A poster for Star Trek: Strange New Worlds Updated on :  24 Dec 2025, 2:42 pm Two characters from the original Star Trek series is the latest addition to the world of Star Trek: Strange New Worlds. Thomas Jane will portray the role of Dr Leonard McCoy, famously known as Bones, with Kai Murakami set to play Hikaru Sulu, for the fifth season of Star Trek: Strange New Worlds, reported Variety. First appearing in Star Trek: The Original Series, which was created by Gene Roddenberry, Bones is the chief medical officer of the USS Enterprise, and Sulu is the helmsman of the ship. DeForest Kelley essayed the role of Bones in The Original Series, meanwhile George Takei portrayed Sulu. Akiva Goldsman and Henry Alonso Meyers serve as the co-showrunners for Star Trek: Strange New Worlds. They also serve as executive producers along with star Anson Mount and Rod Roddenberry. Jane,who has previously portrayed The Punisher in the 2004 film of the same name, was recently alongside Mark Wahlberg and LaKeith Stanfield in Play Dirty. Meanwhile Murakami is making his small screen debut with the show. Star Trek: Strange New Worlds is set ten years before the events of The Original Series and follows the crew of the USS Enterprise, in their adventures through different worlds. Entertainment Anumol; Paris Cafe first look poster; Guru Somasundaram Updated on :  24 Dec 2025, 2:22 pm Actor Guru Somasundaram, who last headlined Bottle Radha, will next lead the romantic drama Paris Cafe, directed by debutant Saraj Seelan. The makers revealed the title along with the first look poster on Wednesday. With a plot revolving around middle-aged romance, the film stars Anumol as the female lead. The film, with one more romantic track, also stars Vijay Vishwa and Archana Kumar. Guru Somasundaram had two Tamil releases this year, with the Kudumbasthan, in which he played a comical and pesky brother-in-law to Manikandan’s Naveen, and debutant Dhinakaran Sivalingam’s Bottle Radha, where he played the titular tippler who is of no good to his family. He also made a cameo appearance in Basil Joseph’s Maranamass. Anumol had a lone Tamil release this year with Kaayal. Making her debut with the Tamil film Kannukulle (2010), she has starred in Multiple Tamil and Malayalam films.
