The director said that he has heard negative comments from many viewers and would try to correct the mistakes he committed in the Rajinikanth starrer in his next film. The filmmaker also said that his producer told him that Coolie earned 500 crore. “Whenever there is criticism for a film from the audience, it is important to accept it. At the same time, beyond all the criticism, many saw the film for Rajinikanth sir. I must also express my gratitude to them,” filmmaker said. Lokesh said that he could not address the critics at the time of the film’s release because he was busy with his next film’s shoot and could not get the opportunity to do so. Entertainment Updated on :  26 Dec 2025, 5:28 pm Filmmaker TJ Gnanavel is the latest to join the list of celebrities from K-town who are showering praises on Vikram Prabhu starrer Sirai, directed by debutant Suresh Rajakumari. In his video address after watching Sirai, Gnanavel said that the film gave a proper completion to 2025. “I can go on and on about the performances of Vikram Prabhu and Akshay Kumar. Likewise, the technicians have done a great job with writer Tamizh and director Suresh laying the foundation with a relevant story.” Gnanavel, who also makes films with social commentary, previously made Vettaiyan, starring Rajinikanth. Calling it an “arresting drama” about the justice system, an excerpt from the CE review reads, “Points to the makers for also writing in just enough subversions to make Sirai a compelling watch. Just when you think that an undertrial with freedom at his doorstep would do ‘A’, he goes on to do ‘Z’, and when you think a cop is making the same mistakes that almost cost him his job once, his response makes you smile because the world doesn’t exist in binaries.” Sirai has a story by Taanakkaran fame Tamizh, which is based on the former police officer’s real life, with the addition of fictional elements. The film starring Charlize Theron and Taron Egerton in the lead, is premiering on the platform on April 24. The teaser hints at the story of the film, which follows the story of a woman (Charlize Theron) who is hunted down by a serial killer (Taron Egerton). Speaking about the film director Baltasar Kormakur, “For a film like Apex — where the elements and the terrain are characters that loom just as large as the movie stars battling in it — no other country in the world could have taken the place of Australia as our primary location.” The film also stars Australian actor Eric Bana in an undisclosed role. Speaking about filming the director said, “Working in the rugged, beautiful terrains of Australia with three of the world’s most talented, dedicated actors in Charlize Theron, Taron Egerton, and Eric Bana is such a joy – even as I put them through the (ringer) in this unique survivor story.” Theron and Kormakur are producing Apex. Produced by Sudhan Sundaram’s Passion Studios and presented by Sivakarthikeyan’s SK Productions, Thaai Kizhavi has Radikaa play an elderly, foul-mouthed usurer who gives a hard time to all the inhabitants of her village. In addition to Radikaa, Thaai Kizhavi also stars Singam Puli, Arul Doss, Munishkanth, Bala Saravanan, Ilavarasu, Muthukumar, George Maryan, and Raichal Rabecca. Radikaa was last seen in Revolver Rita, headlined by Keerthy Suresh and directed by JK Chandru, who previously helmed Naveena Saraswathi Sabatham.
