Bangladesh Election Results 2026 Live Updates: Unofficial results of the highly-anticipated Bangladesh parliamentary elections show Tarique Rahman’s Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) in a strong lead as the country continues to count votes after the polling on Thursday. Officials results are yet to be delivered  by the Bangladesh Election Commission at some point on Friday.

Bangladesh Election Results 2026 Live Updates:
Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP), led by former Prime Minister Khaleda Zia’s son
Tarique Rahman, has made some early gains in the Bangladesh parliamentary elections. The polls were significant since they were the first conducted after the overthrow of ex-Prime Minister
Sheikh Hasina’s government following the violent July protests in 2024.

The new BNP chief has also managed to secure victory in Dhaka-17 and Bogra-6 constituencies, according to the Dhaka Tribune. According to the latest updates, BNP is leading in over 175 seats, and Jamaat is ahead in 30.

It is pertient to note that Bangladesh’s parliament, the
Jatiya Sangsad, has 300 seats, with 151 required for a simple majority. Hence, Rahman’s party has already crossed that mark. Counting is currently underway, and the
Elections Commission of Bangladesh is expected to share the official results of the highly-anticipated polls by Friday.
