Bianca Andreescu Opens Up About Her ‘Healing’ Journey Which Made Her Realise She Was ‘Never Broken’

Bianca Andreescu recently shared her experiences regarding her “healing” journey, revealing that she realized she was “never broken” and didn’t need to pursue a “perfect version” of herself. She also discussed her greatest fears related to playing tennis.

What Did Bianca Andreescu Say About Her ‘Healing’ Journey?

Recently, Andreescu participated in a question-and-answer session with her fans on social media. One fan inquired about her “biggest breakthrough” in her healing process. The former World No. 4 explained that she once believed healing meant fixing parts of herself that were broken.

Andreescu clarified that she now understands she was never broken to begin with. Since coming to this realization, she has stopped chasing an ideal version of herself and has reconnected with her true self.

“I used to think healing meant fixing parts of me that were broken-now i see it’s more about remembering I was never broken to begin with. It’s not about chasing some perfect version of myself, but reconnecting with who I’ve always been underneath the noise,” Andreescu wrote.

The Canadian also mentioned that she has discovered greater peace by letting go of the need to control and rush her healing journey.

“The more i let go of trying to control or rush the process, the more peace i find. Every step, even the messy ones, brings me closer to myself–not the old version I thought i needed to get back to, but the one l’m becoming. Hope that makes sense lol,” she added.

When another fan asked what scares her the most about playing tennis, she admitted that she fears not living up to her own expectations and the potential she believes she can achieve.

“Not living up to what I believe I can accomplish,” Andreescu wrote.

On the tennis side of things, Andreescu is currently competing on the Asian swing of the Tour. She participated in the 2025 China Open, where she lost in the first round to Anna Bondár, with a scoreline of 4-6, 6-7(4).

The former World No. 4 next competed at the Wuhan Open. In the singles event, she won her first qualifying match against Tereza Valentová, with a scoreline of 6-4, 6-2. She was then eliminated in the second qualifying round by Anastasia Zakharova, losing 6-1, 6-7(6), 3-6.

In addition to the singles event, Andreescu also played in the doubles event at the WTA 1000 hard-court tournament in Wuhan, partnering with Yuan Yue after receiving a wild card entry. They reached the quarterfinals and were defeated 4-6, 6-7(1) by the eventual runner-ups, the eighth-seeded duo of Anna Danilina and Aleksandra Krunić.
