Bigg Boss Telugu Season 9 is all set to stream on JioHotstar from September 7, 2025. Fans are eagerly waiting for its start. Now, for the first time, there will be a twist- the Agni Pariksha challenge. In the challenge, commoners compete with celebrities. However, those who win will make it to the main Bigg Boss house. Out of the 15, three will be finalised. They’ll enter the house along with other participants that the judges have selected.

Entertainment How many people are shortlisted for the challenge?

According to social media buzz, 40 people were shortlisted from online applications. Out of those, 15 are thought to have been picked for Agni Pariksha. Of these 15, just five are expected to win a spot in the main season. The makers haven’t officially revealed who’s in the lineup yet, but several names have popped up online, getting fans curious.

Entertainment Who will join the Agni Pariksha challenge?

As per media reports, Bigg Boss 9 Telugu’s Agni Pariksha challenge will be joined by Anusha Ratnam, Divya Nikhitha, Shriya, Swetha Shetty, Demon Pawan, Prasanna Kumar, Dammu Sreeja, Miss Telangana Kalki, Dalia, Priya Shetty, Maryada Manish, Masked Man Hriday, Pawan Kalyan, Lawyer Prashanth and Shakib. Among them, some are social media influencers, fitness coaches, models, businessmen and many others. However, none of the contestants has been officially confirmed.

With the Agni Pariksha challenge, host Akkineni Nagarjuna has said that there’ll be two Bigg Boss houses this season. Whether the regular people will be in one house and the celebrities in another, or if they’ll all be mixed together from the beginning, is something we’ll have to wait and see.

For Season 9, Akkineni Nagarjuna will host the show. As per reports, the actor is paid Rs 30 crore. The whole shoot is going to take place in Annapurna Studios, and they’re putting up a special set for it.
