On September 29, BIGHIT Music shared an update on the legal actions it has taken to protect BTS from malicious behavior, including online harassment and privacy breaches. The company emphasized its ongoing commitment to shielding the members from harmful activities by saesangs and haters.

Entertainment Legal Procedures Against Online Harassment

According to the agency, legal steps have been initiated against individuals and groups responsible for harmful posts targeting BTS. The measures come after continuous monitoring of domestic and international platforms, along with reports from fans.

Entertainment Platforms Under Review

BIGHIT Music revealed that it has been tracking malicious activity across multiple platforms. This includes Korean music services like Melon, Bugs Music, and Genie Music, as well as community forums such as Naver, Daum, Nate, TheQoo, and DC Inside. Social media sites including X, Instagram, and YouTube are also under scrutiny.

Entertainment Zero-Tolerance Policy

The agency stressed that even anonymous posts can face legal consequences. Defamation, spreading false information, slander, and hate speech are punishable under current laws such as the Act on Promotion of Information and Communications Network Utilization and Information Protection. BIGHIT reaffirmed its zero-tolerance approach and confirmed that some cases from last year have already been handed to prosecutors.

BIGHIT explained that several complaints filed this year are still under investigation, with suspects being questioned. In certain cases, warrants have been issued to ensure proper accountability.

The statement also revealed concerning incidents of attempted break-ins at BTS members’ residences. BIGHIT is actively working with law enforcement to investigate these cases, compile evidence, and file reports. Some of these matters have already reached prosecutors.
