Voting for 121 Bihar constituencies has started today November 6, marking the first phase of the 2025 assembly elections. The second phase, covering 121 constituencies, is scheduled for November 11. The elections will decide the fate of hundreds of candidates representing national and regional parties, alliances, and newer political outfits.

General Voting Time in Bihar Elections:

In the Bihar elections, voting is scheduled to take place in multiple phases across the state. On the first phase, polling will begin early in the morning and continue until late afternoon, typically between 7 AM and 5 PM, ensuring that voters across rural and urban constituencies have sufficient time to cast their votes. The Election Commission has made arrangements for strict adherence to COVID-19 protocols and security measures at all polling stations. Special attention is being given to ensure smooth voting in constituencies with high voter density and areas prone to heavy traffic, so that every eligible voter can participate without inconvenience.

NDA candidates for phase 1

The National Democratic Alliance (NDA) has fielded candidates from BJP, JD(U), LJP(RV), HAM, and RLM. Notable candidates include Alok Ranjan Jha in Saharsa (BJP), Kavita Saha in Madhepura (JD(U)), Ramesh Rishidev in Singheshwar (JD(U)), and Maheshwar Hazari in Kalyanpur (JD(U)).

The NDA’s candidate list also covers key constituencies like Darbhanga (Sanjay Saraogi, BJP), Baruraj (Arun Kumar Singh, BJP), and Phulwari (Shyam Rajak, JD(U)). Other constituencies have representation from smaller allies such as HAM, RLM, and LJP(RV).

Mahagathbandhan candidates for phase 1

The Mahagathbandhan INDIA bloc has announced candidates from RJD, Congress, CPI, CPI(ML), and VIP. RJD has fielded Tejashwi Prasad Yadav from Raghopur, Renu Kushwaha from Bihariganj, and Rajesh Kushwaha from Hathua. Congress has fielded candidates including Lalit Yadav (Darbhanga Rural) and Om Prakash Garg (Gopalganj).

Other parties in the bloc, including VIP, CPI, and CPI(ML), have fielded candidates like Naveen Nishad (Alamnagar, VIP), Ganesh Bharti (Kusheshwar Asthan, VIP), and Surendra Ram (Garkha, VIP).

Candidates from Jan Suraaj and AIMIM

Prashant Kishor’s Jan Suraaj Party and Asaduddin Owaisi’s AIMIM have also announced candidates in several constituencies. Jan Suraaj candidates include Subodh Kumar Suman (Alamnagar), Shashi Kumar Yadav (Madhepura), and Jay Prakash Singh (Barauli). AIMIM candidates include Akhtar Shahnshah (Gaura Bauram) and Anas Salam (Gopalganj).
