Boosie Badazz could potentially be headed back to prison after accepting a plea deal in connection with a lingering federal gun charge that has resurfaced.
The Baton Rouge rapper, born Torence Hatch, made the announcement via social media, more than two years after his initial arrest, closing the chapter on a case that many believed was behind him.
The terms of the plea deal have not been publicly disclosed, but Boosie confirmed he had signed off on it.

“JUST ACCEPTED A PLEA FROM THE FEDERAL GOVERNMENT ON MY GUN CASE,” he wrote on X on Aug. 4. “I THOUGHT THIS CASE WAS OVER N I WAS GOING TO GET ON WITH MY LIFE BUT ‘GOD DONT MAKE MISTAKES’ N IM TIRED OF FIGHTING.”
He added, “TALKED TO MY FAMILY N THIS IS THE RIGHT DECISION. TO ALL MY FANS ACROSS THE WORLD SAY A PRAYER FOR YA BOY N GO GET THE NEW ALBUM #wordsofarealone.”
In June 2023, Boosie was pulled over during a traffic stop in San Diego, California, where law enforcement discovered two handguns.

Although the state charges were ultimately dismissed the following year, the federal government stepped in, citing Boosie’s status as a convicted felon—making possession of a firearm a federal offense.
Boosie had previously expressed relief when the state charges were dropped, seeing the moment as a fresh start. “This situation made me see who was down with me and who wasn’t,” he told Courthouse News at the time. “Ninety percent of people thought I was going to prison, but God had a different plan.”
Now, with the federal case back in focus, it appears that plan has shifted once again. While fans await further details on sentencing, Boosie is urging supporters to keep him in their prayers and to support his latest music, even as he prepares to serve time.
