The Minnesota Vikings have dealt with a number of injuries on their roster this year, including starting QB J.J. McCarthy going down with a high ankle sprain.
As a result, the past two games have seen Carson Wentz under center for Minnesota with the Vikings going 1-1, equaling the result of McCarthy’s two starts.
Now, the Vikings are headed to London to take on the Cleveland Browns, but before this matchup kicks off early Sunday morning, one Browns defender had some trash talk to throw in the direction of Minnesota’s quarterback.
Browns Defender Throws Shade in Carson Wentz’s Direction
spoke with the media on Thursday ahead of the game and had this to say of Wentz:
“He actually has a history of turning the ball over a lot. So that’s something that we’ve got to exploit, you know, make him uncomfortable and go get that thing.”
For those who don’t know who Delpit is, he has been with the Browns since they drafted him in the second round of the 2021 NFL Draft out of LSU. He was teammates with Justin Jefferson on that 2019 LSU team that steamrolled its way to a national championship, earning All-American status along the way.
Delpit has been a consistent starter in Cleveland’s defense, starting 56 games so far in his career. Among 65 safeties with at least 150 defensive snaps under their belts this season, Delpit’s PFF grade of 74.9 ranks 13th in the NFL.

If the Vikings can hold onto the ball while making the rookie uncomfortable in a difficult situation, making his first start in an overseas game, they should be able to come away with a win.
