Bombay HC blocks Shilpa Shetty and Raj Kundra’s international travel amid Rs 60 crores fraud case

Entertainment In a significant development in the ongoing Rs 60 crores fraud case involving Bollywood actress Shilpa Shetty and her husband, businessman Raj Kundra, the Bombay High Court has raised serious questions about their request to travel abroad. Bombay HC blocks Shilpa Shetty and Raj Kundra’s international travel amid Rs 60 crores fraud case The couple had approached the court seeking permission to travel to Colombo and other destinations for a business trip. However, the court, led by Chief Justice Shree Chandrashekhar and Justice Gautam Ankhad, expressed scepticism over the nature of the trip. Their counsel, Niranjan Mundargi, was directed to submit an affidavit detailing the purpose of the trip, including formal communications and evidence supporting the claim that it was indeed for business purposes. The court granted time until October 14 for the submission of these details. During the proceedings, when Mundargi reiterated that the trip was for business, Chief Justice Shree Chandrashekhar remarked with a smile, “You can first deposit Rs 60 crores if you wish to travel abroad.” This comment underscores the court’s serious approach to the case and its scrutiny of the couple’s actions. The Economic Offences Wing (EOW) of the Mumbai Police is investigating the case, which alleges that Shetty and Kundra diverted investment funds for personal use. In light of the ongoing investigation, the court has not issued any immediate orders regarding the Look Out Circular (LOC) issued against them. The matter is scheduled for further hearing on October 14. This development adds to the mounting legal challenges faced by the couple, who are under intense scrutiny over their financial dealings. As the investigation progresses, the court’s forthcoming decisions will be crucial in determining the future course of action. In a related matter, the Economic Offences Wing (EOW) of the Mumbai Police is investigating a case involving businessman Deepak Kothari. Kothari has accused Shetty and Kundra of diverting Rs. 60 crores of his investment for personal use. The EOW has found that Kothari’s funds were misused and has filed a case against Shetty, Kundra, and an unidentified associate under sections 403 (dishonest misappropriation of property), 406 (criminal breach of trust), and 34 (common intention) of the Indian Penal Code. Salman Khan resolves Rs 7.24 crores Jerai fitness dispute, withdraws NCLAT appeal

Entertainment Bollywood actor Salman Khan has resolved his Rs 7.24 crores dispute with Jerai Fitness Limited, leading to the withdrawal of his insolvency appeal before the National Company Law Appellate Tribunal (NCLAT). The settlement pertains to a trademark license agreement under Khan’s fitness brand, Being Strong. Salman Khan resolves Rs 7.24 crores Jerai fitness dispute, withdraws NCLAT appeal On October 6, Khan’s legal counsel informed the NCLAT that the consent terms had been executed. Subsequently, on October 8, the tribunal recorded the consent terms and permitted the actor to withdraw his appeal. The bench, comprising Chairperson Justice Ashok Bhushan and Technical Member Arun Baroka, dismissed the appeal as withdrawn. The dispute arose from a 2023 agreement between Khan and Jerai Fitness, which allowed the latter to manufacture, market, and sell gym equipment under Khan’s trademark. Under this agreement, Jerai was obligated to pay either a minimum guarantee of Rs 3 crores annually or 3% of net sales, whichever was higher. Khan alleged that Jerai defaulted on invoices amounting to Rs 7.24 crores, including a one-time settlement payment of Rs 1.63 crores for the pre-March 2023 period and royalties for subsequent years. Jerai Fitness contested these claims, arguing that Khan had failed to fulfil his obligations under the agreement. The company contended that Khan did not provide timely approvals for product designs and promotional materials and did not attend the launch of its “Proton” series at the Bombay Exhibition Centre in November 2023. Jerai maintained that the invoices relied on by Khan were raised only after the company had issued a termination notice in September 2024, effective April 2025, and therefore could not form the basis of an insolvency claim. The NCLT Mumbai Bench had dismissed Khan’s insolvency plea in May, stating that while the Rs 1.63 crores settlement amount for the earlier period was an undisputed liability, the larger royalty claim was subject to a genuine pre-existing dispute regarding Khan’s performance under the agreement. The tribunal concluded that the petition fell within the “domain of recovery proceedings” rather than resolution under the Insolvency and Bankruptcy Code (IBC). Following this dismissal, Khan approached the NCLAT, challenging the decision. However, with the recent settlement and withdrawal of the appeal, the matter has been resolved amicably between the parties. Khan was represented by Advocates Varun Kalra, Parag Khandhar, Tapan Radkar, and Shaham Ulla from DSK Legal, while Jerai Fitness was represented by Advocates Himanshu Satija, Prerna Wagh, Prangana Baraua, Pranav Saigal, Harshit Khanduja, Harsh Saxena, and Anshul Rao. BREAKING: Mohit Suri confirms he’s in talks with Yash Raj Films for one more film after Saiyaara; also reveals, “Aditya Chopra saw rough edit of 3.15 hours; predicted that it’ll cross Rs. 100 cr”

Entertainment Mohit Suri and producer Akshaye Widhani on day 2 of silver jubilee edition of FICCI Frames 2025 spoke about their surprise blockbuster Saiyaara. BREAKING: Mohit Suri confirms he’s in talks with Yash Raj Films for one more film after Saiyaara; also reveals, “Aditya Chopra saw rough edit of 3.15 hours; predicted that it’ll cross Rs. 100 cr” Mohit Suri revealed, “When Adi sir (Aditya Chopra) and Akshaye saw the rough edit, it was really bad and quite loose (laughs). It was 3 hours and 15 minutes long. This was 2-3 months before the release. I said, ‘Let me cut it down’. Yet, Adi sir was really confident and said, ‘Even if this film opens to Rs. 4-5 crores, it will still do Rs. 100 crores’. What he meant is that he liked the film so much even in its rough format. Something had worked in the film.” He added, “The last time I got this kind of love was during Aashiqui 2 (2013). You can never plan this kind of thing. I tried to imitate in Hamari Adhuri Kahaani (2015), it doesn’t come across.” Mohit Suri then confirmed that he is in talks with Yash Raj Films for one more film, “To be honest, we are planning to do a film together again. When I met them again, I said, ‘This is a newer set of audience that is coming up to me. I have never had 60-year-old aunties telling me, ‘Beta, jeete raho. Bahut acchi picture banayi’ (laughs). I only know the guy who comes up and beats his chest. I have done that in my previous films. The only advise I have got from my seniors was that ‘You cannot keep trying to put a formula and what worked for the audience. You can only start afresh’.” Also Read: Rani Mukerji welcomes UK PM Keir Starmer to YRF studio during his India visit More Pages: Saiyaara Box Office Collection , Saiyaara Movie Review BOLLYWOOD NEWS – LIVE UPDATES Catch us for latest Bollywood News, New Bollywood Movies update, Box office collection, New Movies Release , Bollywood News Hindi, Entertainment News, Bollywood Live News Today & Upcoming Movies 2025 and stay updated with latest hindi movies only on Bollywood Hungama. Rowoon Enters Japanese Cinema with ‘The Last Man: First Love’

Entertainment Rowoon portrays a talented FBI operative in the film, which serves as a continuation of a well-known Japanese series featuring a blind FBI agent and a feisty police officer. Rowoon. Photo: JTBC, courtesy of Han Cinema. Popular Korean actor, singer, and former SF9 member Rowoon is making his film debut in a key role with the Japanese movie The Last Man: First Love, drawing on the well-known Japanese series The Last Man – The Totally Blind Investigator, also known as The Last Man: The Blind Profiler, released in 2023. The source material follows Masaharu Fukuyama’s Hiromi Minami, a blind American FBI agent whose inability to see does not affect his work. He’s amiable, seeks help freely, and is blessed with an extraordinary ability to solve cases. Minami is sent to Japan on an assignment and paired with a cynical and distrusting lone wolf—Yo Oizumi’s Shintaro Godo, a highly accomplished cop with a stellar track record of apprehending criminals. And together, they are the best at getting to the bottom of the most critical cases. However, as the plot advances, shadows of a police conspiracy and a past link hover over them—it turns out that the two are actually brothers. And while the revelation solidifies their bond, the series ends with Minami off to America for a training program, leaving the narrative awaiting continuation. The upcoming film continues the story a couple of years down the line, when Minami goes back to Japan and travels to Hokkaido to reunite with Godo. Along the way, he runs into his first love, triggering a dangerous new case. As Minami and Godo dig in, they’re caught in the sights of a shadowy criminal network—leading them to team up with authorities—the FBI, CIA, and Hokkaido Police. FBI agent Clyde Yoon, played by Rowoon, enters the scene, and his connection with Minami becomes an important thread in the story. The Chosun Daily reports that Higashinaka, the movie’s producer, praised Rowoon’s casting, saying Yoon is a powerful character matching Minami’s intensity. “Rowoon is not only a talented actor but also possesses overwhelming charm and charisma, making him the only suitable choice for this role,” he added. Rowoon opened up about taking on a Japanese project, calling it a fresh challenge — but one that he’s super excited about, to explore acting in a different language and cultural setting. “The character Yoon is confident and brimming with passion for success. I hope audiences will closely follow his transformation throughout the story.” The Last Man: First Love hits theaters on Dec. 24. Penned by Tsutomu Kuroiwa and helmed by director Shunichi Hirano, it follows Rowoon’s most recent, The Murky Stream, an intriguing period drama where he plays a legendary gangster ruling Mapo Ferry on the Han River during the Joseon times. Bollywood Music Project Shows the Genre’s Potential for Festival-Style Experiences

Entertainment From Shankar Mahadevan and Farhan Akhtar, to Salim-Suleiman and Usha Uthup, the 8th edition of the Bollywood Music Project brought together legends and rising stars, for a night that showed the power of the genre Shankar Mahadevan and Friends performing on day one of the festival. All photos courtesy of Bollywood Music Project Bollywood has never just been an industry; it’s been our shared language. It’s the background score we grew up to, capturing everything from awkward first crushes to teenage triumphs. And last weekend, that language spoke louder than ever. As the Bollywood Music Project returned for its 8th edition, it was a night that celebrated what Bollywood represents: legacy, discovery, reinvention, and connection. It began with the new voices finding their place in a sound that has defined generations. Priyashi Shrivastava, Chetna Bhardwaj, and Subhadeep Das Chowdhury brought with them a rare freshness that still felt familiar. Their tones were reminders that even as time moves forward, the emotion that Bollywood evokes remains unchanged. Then came the wave of nostalgia: Anu Malik, Baba Sehgal, and Abhijeet Sawant, all artists who once ruled our radios and cassettes, now commanding a crowd that spanned every age. Their music was a bridge across time. Parents sang with children. Strangers smiled at each other, mouthing the same lyrics. Instead of sound simply filling the air, it was memory taking form. And just when it seemed the night had reached its peak, Shankar Mahadevan stepped in with his “Shankar Mahadevan and Friends” project. There’s something transcendent about watching a man who doesn’t just sing, but absorbs the song completely. From the first chant of his Ganpati track, the air turned sacred. The music swelled with energy, building from intimate melodies to soaring crescendos that left the entire audience spellbound.  Farhan Akhtar arrived next, commanding the stage as a poet, rockstar, and storyteller. His presence shifted the energy, taking us back to the Rock On! days, when youth and rebellion had a melody of their own. His voice carried nostalgia and defiance in equal measure. And then there was Shaan — eternal, effortless, ageless. His voice felt like coming home after a long journey, warm, steady, unchanging. Then came the moment that defined the night: Shankar sharing the stage with his sons, Siddharth and Shivam Mahadevan. It wasn’t just a performance; it was inheritance in motion. When they performed “Breathless”, faster, cleaner, and more alive than ever, it felt like watching time fold itself into the old and the new. Day two also came with a power-packed lineup of feel-good classics and fresh perspectives. From Usha Uthup’s electrifying stage presence, to Neha Bhasin’s soulful pop sounds, to Salim–Sulaiman’s masterful live arrangements, every performance showcased the star power of a cohort that knows how to honor the past while shaping the future of Bollywood music. Over 20,000 people stood witness that weekend to that riveting sense of shared emotion. Beyond the performances themselves, the format of the Bollywood Music Project showcased the untapped potential of Bollywood-led live entertainment. Much like international music festivals, it curated a diverse lineup that balanced nostalgia with discovery, veteran stars with emerging talent, and intimate sets with large-scale productions. The seamless flow from one act to another, paired with thoughtful collaborations and a narrative arc that engaged audiences across generations, demonstrated that Bollywood, too, can thrive in festival-style formats. From Brazilian Rhythms to Gujarati Rap, Here Are Five Must-See Acts at Jazz Weekender 2025

Entertainment Jazz Weekender 2025 brings in performances by Sera Kalo, Allysha Joy and Mark de Clive-Lowe. Photos: Courtesy of the artist, Jess Brohier (Joy) Jazz Weekender returns to its home in New Delhi this week, hosting just over 10 artists across two days at 1AQ in Mehrauli on Oct. 11 and 12. Like previous editions, the festival’s lineup showcases artists who dive into the elasticity that jazz possesses, adapting it into styles ranging from hip-hop to electronic and other subgenres. At this year’s globe-spanning curation by Boxout.fm, Wild City, Gatecrash, and Jazz in India, here are just a few must-see acts. Allysha Joy Melbourne singer-songwriter Allysha Joy kicks off her debut India tour at Jazz Weekender, performing her glowing, sensuous R&B-laced tracks with an Indian band. Joy will be joined by bassist Nathan Thomas, drummer Dhir Mody, saxophonist Shirish Malhotra, and vocalist Mallika Barot. Come for the unhurried grooves and stay for Joy’s inimitably powerful vocal range, which sets the vibe even if you may not know the songs. After performing on Oct. 11, the artist and her Indian band also have shows in Mumbai on Oct. 15 at Antisocial, and in Goa on Oct. 25 at Hideaway, with Joy playing a solo set in Kolkata on Oct. 17 at Skinny Mo’s Jazz Club. Mark de Clive-Lowe Jazz hybrid artist Mark de Clive Lowe makes his India debut at Jazz Weekender with a Live Remix set. The Tokyo-based DJ-producer brings a bit of jazz improvisation with broken beat and global rhythms, according to the festival. Like the set above, Clive Lowe’s wide-ranging palette — think Whitney Houston, Chaka Khan, Q-Tip and more — paired with his spontaneous use of live piano makes it anyone’s guess what tunes he’ll take on to get the audience moving. Dhanji Ahmedabad hip-hop mainstay Dhanji and his band will be closing out day one of Jazz Weekender. If there’s anything New Delhi loves, it’s hip-hop, and Dhanji might just pack the house at 1AQ with his live set. While it was a more rage-y affair at Lollapalooza India in Mumbai at the start of the year, Dhanji had launched his album RUAB in New Delhi with a horn section, backing vocalists, and more. This time, he’s bringing a 13-piece jazz-funk presentation of his material, including his latest album Drive-in Cinema 2.1. Sera Kalo’s eXante Expect soul, jazz, and electronic elements in the mix for German/American act Sera Kalo’s eXante at Jazz Weekender 2025. Performing at an early slot of 4:30 pm on day two of the festival, expect a bit of sunny but soul-searching songs like “Can You Speak My Language” (off her 2023 album Exante) and new songs like “Again and Again” from her upcoming album eX.II. Coming in from a kick-off show at the Nita Mukesh Ambani Cultural Centre’s Studio Theatre in Mumbai on Oct. 11, Kalo brings a seemingly effortless, airy yet emotionally grounded hue to the festival. Sambucada   Among the newer Indian acts on the block, Goa-based Sambucada are channeling the sounds of samba and Bossa Nova right from Brazil to New Delhi this week at Jazz Weekender. “The concept is to distill the rhythms of the Brazilian carnival into a small band format and layer it with jazz-based harmonies,” the band has said in a post. Formed sometime after the pandemic lockdowns were lifted, Sambucada have already performed at festivals in Mumbai and Goa, regularly bringing in additional instrumentalists to take things up a notch.
