Entertainment Telangana Tourism has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with BookMyShow in an effort to scale live entertainment in the region Photo for representative purposes only by MSL Group In what could be a landmark move for India’s concert economy, BookMyShow has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Telangana Tourism. Undertaken with the government of Telangana, the partnership aims to bring large-scale concerts, international acts, stellar infrastructure, and economic growth to the state. The move marks another milestone in India’s fast-growing entertainment landscape, fortifying Telangana’s cultural and economic positioning in it. Photo Courtesy: Team BookMyShow Through this collaboration, BookMyshow Live, the live entertainment experiential division of BookMyShow, aims to create opportunities in cities like Hyderabad, which is infused with large-scale tech, connectivity, and infrastructure fit for international-scale events. This will also boost partnerships with industries like hospitality, retail, and travel.   Officiated at the Telangana Tourism Conclave 2025, the MoU was signed by Ashish Hemrajani, Founder and CEO of BookMyShow, and Jayesh Ranjan, Special Chief Secretary, Telangana Tourism. It also had the Chief Minister of Telangana, Revanth Reddy Garu, present.  On the landmark deal, Hemrajani said in a statement: “Through this MoU, we aim to strengthen infrastructure around concerts and the concert economy with the government of Telangana, enable more national and international performances, drive skill development, and uplift the local ecosystem.” He remained hopeful about working with the Telangana government to shape the future concert economy, saying, “By working closely with forward-thinking state governments such as Telangana, we can enable world-class experiences for fans and build sustainable impact for local economies.”  The partnership also underscores BookMyShow’s efforts to supercharge India’s concert economy, taking the concert culture beyond metro cities. Having signed an MoU with the government of Assam last year, they paved the way for international acts, such as Post Malone, to debut their set in the Northeast. They also brought Coldplay’s ‘Music Of The Spheres’ concert to Ahmedabad, which emerged India’s largest ticketed stadium concert. As per an EY report commissioned by BookMyShow, not only was it one of the biggest concerts of the 21st century, but it also boosted Ahmedabad’s economy by INR 392 crore. Hyderabad, which has previously welcomed the likes of Ed Sheeran and Alan Walker, is now aiming to bring more global music icons to the state. Read More

Bad Bunny to Headline 2026 Super Bowl Halftime Show

Entertainment The Puerto Rican superstar is enjoying a massive year with the release of his latest album, Debí Tirar Más Fotos, and a historic residency in Puerto Rico Bad Bunny performs in San Juan, Puerto Rico in July Kevin Mazur/Getty Images Bad Bunny has secured one of the biggest gigs in music: The 2026 Super Bowl LX halftime show. Roc Nation, the NFL, and Apple Music announced that the Puerto Rican superstar will take center stage at the big game during halftime of the Dallas Cowboys and Green Bay Packers game Sunday, Sept. 28. Bad Bunny also shared a short video on Instagram, in which he sits perched upon a goalpost planted on the beach while his song “Callaita” plays. “What I’m feeling goes beyond myself,” Bad Bunny said in a statement. “It’s for those who came before me and ran countless yards so I could come in and score a touchdown… this is for my people, my culture, and our history. Ve y dile a tu abuela, que seremos el HALFTIME SHOW DEL SUPER BOWL.” Jay-Z, Roc Nation’s founder and chairman, celebrated the choice, adding, “What Benito has done and continues to do for Puerto Rico is truly inspiring. We are honored to have him on the world’s biggest stage.” Super Bowl LX will take place Sunday, Feb. 8, 2026, at Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara, California. The news comes in the middle of yet another massive year for Bad Bunny, who released his most recent album, Debí Tirar Más Fotos, in January. To support the album, Bad Bunny launched a historic residency at the El Choli arena in San Juan, Puerto Rico in July, with the 31-show run wrapping Sept. 21. (The finale, which was streamed on Amazon Music, featured guest appearances from Marc Anthony, RaiNao, Dei V, Ñengo Flow, Arcángel, De La Ghetto, and Jowell & Randy.) Bad Bunny is set to follow the residency with a world tour, and he has dates currently scheduled in the Dominican Republic, Costa Rica, and Mexico this November and December, followed by shows across South America, Australia, Asia, and Europe in 2026.  Notably, though, Bad Bunny is currently not scheduled to play any shows inside the United States this year or next — meaning his Super Bowl Halftime Show will take on added significance. The musician pointedly chose not to take the Debí Tirar Más Fotos tour to the United States in part because of concerns that his concerts might be targeted by Immigration and Customs Enforcement.  “But there was the issue of — like, fucking ICE could be outside [my concert],” he told i-D. “And it’s something that we were talking about and very concerned about.” The star seemed to reference his past comments in a post on X following the Super Bowl LX announcement. “After speaking with my team, I think I’ll do just one show in the United States,” he wrote in Spanish. estuve pensando en estos días, y luego de hablarlo con mi equipo, creo que haré una sola fecha en Estados Unidos. — Benito Antonio (@sanbenito) September 29, 2025 On top of all his music, Bad Bunny has also appeared in two movies this year, Happy Gilmore 2 with Adam Sandler, and Darren Aronofsky’s Caught Stealing. He’s also set host the Season 51 premiere of Saturday Night Live on Oct. 4, with Doja Cat serving as musical guest. Bad Bunny follows recent Super Bowl halftime performers Kendrick Lamar last year, Usher in 2024, Rihanna in 2023, Dr. Dre and guests Snoop Dogg, Eminem, Mary J. Blige, and Lamar in Los Angeles in 2022, the Weeknd in 2021, and Shakira and Jennifer Lopez in 2020. From Rolling Stone US. Read More

Paul McCartney Kicks Off U.S. Tour by Playing ‘Help!’ in Full for First Time Since 1965

Entertainment Macca did perform 50 seconds of “Help!” in a medley of John Lennon songs on the final leg of his 1990 tour, but he hasn’t done the full song since the Beatles played Cardiff, Wales, in 1965 Sir Paul McCartney performs at The O2 Arena on Dec. 18, 2024 in London, England. Jim Dyson/Getty Images Paul McCartney launched his 2025 North American tour Friday night with a last-minute warmup gig at the Santa Barbara Bowl in Santa Barbara, California. He kicked off the night by playing the Beatles classic “Help!” in its entirety for the first time since 1965. The Santa Barbara Bowl seats a mere 4,562 people, meaning it’s roughly a quarter the size of the arenas he’s hitting on the rest of the tour. The show was announced just two weeks ago, it sold out within minutes, and fans had to secure their phones in Yondr pouches for the night. That’s why footage of “Help!” from the show has yet to emerge online. An enterprising fan did capture 30 seconds of “Help!” from soundcheck that provides at least a rough idea of what it sounded like. McCartney last performed just a section of “Help!” on the final leg of his 1989/90 Flowers in the Dirt tour when he did a medley of John Lennon songs that also features snippets of “Strawberry Fields Forever” and “Give Peace a Chance.” The “Help!” segment lasted less than a minute. He last played “Help!” in full on Dec. 12, 1965, when the Beatles played the Capitol Theater in Cardiff, Wales. The revival of “Help!” is noteworthy since McCartney usually avoids Beatles songs written largely by John Lennon. “When ‘Help!’ came out in ’65, I was actually crying out for help,” Lennon told Playboy in 1980. “Most people think it’s just a fast rock ‘n roll song. I didn’t realize it at the time; I just wrote the song because I was commissioned to write it for the movie [Help!]. But later, I knew I really was crying out for help. It was my fat Elvis period … I was fat and depressed and I was crying out for help.” There weren’t any other big surprises in McCartney’s set at the Santa Barbara Bowl. It focused largely on Beatles classics like “Getting Better,” “Lady Madonna,” “Hey Jude,” and “Helter Skelter,” Wings hits like “Jet,” “Live and Let Die,” and “Let Me Roll It,” and solo tunes like “My Valentine,” “Coming Up,” and “Nineteen Hundred and Eighty-Five.” He also played the “new” Beatles song “Now and Then,” and played a virtual duet with John Lennon on “I’ve Got a Feeling” using footage from the 1969 Beatles Apple Records rooftop performance. McCartney’s tour continues Monday night at the Acrisure Arena in Thousand Palms, California. In the strong likelihood that “Help!” remains in the set, footage should emerge online pretty soon after it wraps. From Rolling Stone US. Read More

Selena Gomez and Benny Blanco Are Married

Entertainment LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA – JANUARY 5, 2025, 82ND GOLDEN GLOBE AWARDS – Selena Gomez and Benny Blanco at the 82nd Golden Globe Awards, held at the Beverly Hilton Hotel in Los Angeles on January 5, 2025. (Photo by Jason Armond / Los Angeles Times via Getty Images) Los Angeles Times via Getty Images That’s Mrs. Blanco to you. Selena Gomez and Benny Blanco tied the knot in a private ceremony on Saturday, Sept. 27. They exchanged vows in California in front of their friends and family. Gomez shared photos from their wedding, captioning a carousel of pictures “9.27.25.” In his own post of pictures from the wedding, Blanco wrote, “i married a real life disney princess.” The couple got engaged in December 2024 after more than a year of dating. The singer announced the news, “forever begins now..” The couple worked together on Gomez’s 2015 hit song “Same Old Love” and “I Can’t Get Enough” (which also featured Tainy and J Balvin) in 2019, before confirming their relationship in December 2023. She later noted that she began dating the music producer six months prior. In March 2025, they released their collaborative album, I Said I Love You First. While speaking about Blanco during an appearance on Apple Music 1, Gomez described their relationship as “the safest” she’s ever felt. “I think it’s just really important to meet someone that respects you,” she said. “I’d have to say, overall, it’s the safest that I feel, and it’s been really lovely, and I’ve only grown through it, so it’s awesome.” But when it came to wedding planning, the couple was the first to admit that they were slow to get started. Earlier this year, Blanco told Rolling Stone that Gomez “planned a new wedding in her head” every day after they got engaged, but their main focus at the time was their album, I Said I Love You First. “We’re very much ‘take it one day at a time’-type of people. We’re still not over this moment. Literally, while you were talking, she was sitting there staring at her ring,” he said. Gomez added, “Also, I genuinely feel like this is such a special time that we get to apply it to this album and really just pour our heart into it, and completely translate what we feel and bring it to the world. That’s my main focus right now, at least.” From Rolling Stone US. Read More

How Panic! at the Disco’s ‘A Fever You Can’t Sweat Out’ Went Far Beyond Its Internet Origins

Entertainment Twenty years ago, Panic! at the Disco changed the course of emo history with a debut album that catapulted them to real-life rockstars Panic! at the Disco’s Robert Knight Archive/Redferns/Getty Images It started on a blog. In 2005, Panic! at the Disco recorded their first-ever demos on Garage Band, and teen guitarist Ryan Ross posted them on Fall Out Boy’s LiveJournal with the intention of bringing his band’s music to a larger audience. But Ross got the attention of none other than Pete Wentz, pop punk’s de facto leader at the time. As emo legend has it, the FOB bassist was so impressed with Ross, lead singer Brendon Urie, drummer Spencer Smith, and bassist Brent Wilson that he made his way to their practice space in Vegas before offering them a record deal. Wentz arrived to find four lanky teen boys who had never performed live and could barely sync their computer-created beats to their thrashing guitars. But it didn’t matter — he saw the bones of a great record. “It was kind of a mess,” Wentz told Rolling Stone in 2007. “But I could see something… this little glimmering spot. As far as hooks go, everything they write gets stuck in your head.”  That’s how the seed was planted for Panic! At the Disco’s debut album, A Fever You Can’t Sweat Out. Armed with a Decaydance record deal, a newbie producer in Matt Squire, and $10,000, the Vegas teens set out to shake up the emo scene. With A Fever You Can’t Sweat Out, Panic! at the Disco did exactly that and more. What started on a laptop and online blogs made a splash in the real world. The album peaked at No. 13 on the Billboard 200, spawned their inescapable hit song “I Write Sins, Not Tragedies,” and even helped the band take home the 2006 Video of the Year MTV VMA. It’s been 20 years since those theatrical hooks implanted themselves in the general public’s consciousness — and Fever You Can’t Sweat Out remains an addictive listen. This fall, the band is headlining the emo nostalgia festival When We Were Young with the promise to play the LP in its entirety. Though no one is quite sure what the band’s lineup will be at the festival (Urie stopped performing under the name in 2023 and the other four core members left before that), fans are still stoked to hear such a unique album performed in full for the first time in years. That’s all thanks to Fever’s status as both a capsule of early aughts emo and a road map for the pop-leaning explosion that would go on to include artists like Gym Class Heroes and Cobra Starship. Beyond Fever’s head-spinning commercial success, the band’s debut album was the most popular LP to come from the online MySpace era of pop-punk and emo music. It’s a project with a distinct, technological touch, from its promotion to its drum machines and tongue-in-cheek lyrics like “we’re just a wet dream for the Web zines.” “The internet has become such a great tool for bands in so many ways, I mean we had almost five thousand friends on myspace before we had even played a show,” Ross told AbsolutePunk in 2005. Panic! at the Disco’s inexperience as performers at the time is a fact people and publications love to focus on. After all, it was an anomaly for a band to obtain a record deal without first cutting their teeth on a live local music circuit. But by not thinking of the aspect of live performances, Panic! at the Disco was limitless when it came to making A Fever You Can’t Sweat Out. You can hear that freedom in the album’s amalgamation of influences. Panic! managed to mesh striking dance synths and electronic vocal edits against angsty guitar chugs on the first half of the album. Meanwhile, the second half folds in the aesthetics of Vegas strip cabarets with eerie melodies from movie scores like Danny Elfman’s Nightmare Before Christmas. Lyrically, they take from Wentz’s signature wordplay and Chuck Palahniuk’s novels to create their own hyper-specific dramas. All these distinct parts coalesced to make up the vast world of Fever — and, to be honest, it shouldn’t all work so well. But the fact that it is an album you can dance to and bemoan goddamned open doors adds to its charm. It’s almost no surprise Panic! at the Disco was never able to write an album quite as successful or expansive as Fever ever again. They followed it up with the Beatles-inspired Pretty Odd before Ross and Smith left the band. Even Panic! at the Disco’s 2018 hit “High Hopes” can’t hold a candle to the combustive spectacle of Fever. It’s a lighting in a bottle moment that stands out in emo-pop history. Fever‘s popularity even surprised the band members, who weren’t quite convinced by its power. “We didn’t expect this album to have any success,” Ross told RS in 2007. “I don’t really think it’s that good. It was more like our experiment for figuring ourselves out.” In undergoing the complex journey of self-exploration, Panic! at the Disco unlocked an unprecedented type of freedom. Akshay Kumar counters Aamir Khan’s six-month gap between theatres and streaming releases: “OTT platforms also need to benefit from the deal”

Entertainment The ongoing debate over the ideal gap between theatrical releases and OTT premieres has found two of Bollywood’s biggest stars on opposite ends. After Aamir Khan recently advocated for a six-month window to protect the theatrical business, Akshay Kumar has voiced his disagreement, suggesting that a shorter gap is more practical for all stakeholders. Akshay Kumar counters Aamir Khan’s six-month gap between theatres and streaming releases: “OTT platforms also need to benefit from the deal” In a conversation with ABP Live, Akshay stressed that OTT platforms, which invest heavily in digital rights, also deserve fair treatment. “According to me, a three-month gap is okay. Six months is too long because at the end of the day, the OTT platform is paying you for the digital rights. They also need to benefit from the deal,” he said. The actor-producer added that the industry should return to the pre-pandemic model, where theatres and streaming platforms co-existed without friction. “When it comes to digital rights sale, producers happily take money from the OTT platform. But when we want to, we also conveniently say our films aren’t working because of OTT. We don’t consider that maybe we’re not making the right films,” he remarked. Akshay admitted he consumes a significant amount of OTT content himself, not just for entertainment but also to scout talent for his own projects. “I don’t have any other work than making movies. Since I’m not educated, I do only movies. So, I get a lot of time to watch OTT,” he shared. Acknowledging his journey, he added, “Thirty percent is hard work, which should feel like you’ve done 100% hard work, but you also need that 70% luck to make it. When I enter a studio, I often see a struggler better looking, a better dancer, and who does better action than me, but he hasn’t gotten a chance yet.” His comments come in the backdrop of Aamir Khan’s evolving perspective on the theatrical-to-OTT window. The Laal Singh Chaddha star has long criticized the shrinking gap, blaming it for dwindling footfalls in cinemas. After Kiran Rao’s Laapataa Ladies underperformed theatrically but found immense popularity upon its Netflix release, Aamir doubled down on his call for a minimum six-month gap. At present, most films follow an eight-week theatrical-to-digital model.
