Justin Bieber Teases Coachella Performance With ‘Speed Demon’ Video

Entertainment The black-and-white clip was filmed at the home of the music festival in Indio, California Justin Bieber. Photo: YouTube/Justin Bieber Justin Bieber has shared a black and white video for “Speed Demon.” The clip, shot and edited by Rory Kramer, was filmed at the Empire Polo Club in Indio, California, where Coachella takes place. The singer teased his forthcoming headlining set at Coachella 2026 in a caption on Instagram, telling fans, “see u in april.” Bieber also shared photos of himself with his wife Hailey Bieber and their son Jack Blues Bieber at the venue. “Speed Demon” comes off Bieber’s most recent release, Swag II, the follow-up to his July album Swag. The LP features 23 tracks and several collaborations, including with Lil B, Hurricane Chris, Eddie Benjamin, and Tems. Like Swag, Bieber announced the new LP a day before its arrival with a flurry of Instagram posts featuring billboards and other large-scale promotions of the album cover. Swag was Bieber’s first album in four years. In the time since releasing 2021’s Justice, Bieber had been dealing with a series of career setbacks and health scares. He canceled his massive world tour in support of Justice following a Ramsay Hunt syndrome diagnosis, which left part of his face paralyzed. He also quietly parted ways with longtime manager Scooter Braun, who discovered Bieber on YouTube when the singer was quite young. Rumors have swirled about personal and financial tensions that led to the dissolution of their professional relationship. Bieber was confirmed as one of the headliners of Coachella 2026 earlier this month. Rolling Stone learned the singer scored a seven-figure deal for the performance and worked “directly” with festival promoter Goldenvoice to negotiate the terms of his slot. Bieber’s Coachella set will mark his first performance in the United States since 2022’s Justice World Tour. “It’s a groundbreaking move for a headliner, and it’s something he built entirely on his own,” a source close to Bieber tells Rolling Stone. “Between headlining Coachella and the success of Swag, it’s clear this is the start of an exciting new era for Justin — one where he’s fully in the driver’s seat.” While Bieber has joined previous Coachella performers for guest appearances, 2026 will mark his first solo slot. He joined Tems and WizKid for a rendition of “Essence” in 2024, and performed “Peaches” with Daniel Caesar in 2022. The pop icon also performed “Sorry” with Ariana Grande when she headlined the music festival in 2019. Coachella is scheduled to take place in Indio, California, on April 10-12 and April 17-19. Additional headliners include Sabrina Carpenter, Karol G, and Anyma. From Rolling Stone US. Read More

Audience Leaves Smiling After Watching Paranthu Po Movie

Entertainment Director Ram spoke emotionally about his latest film Parundha Po and the overwhelming response actor Mirchi Shiva received during its production. The film, released on July 4, revolves around a young boy confined within the walls of his house. One day, he finally gets a chance to step out with his father, leading to a heartwarming road trip on a bike. Through the playful character of the boy Anbu, the story explores themes of freedom and how children can inspire even their parents to embrace it. The narrative blends humor with a strong message about parenting in modern lifestyles. Initially, music director Yuvan Shankar Raja was slated to compose the entire score. Due to scheduling conflicts, he only did the background music, while the songs were composed by Santhosh Dayanidhi. Director Ram expressed joy during the film’s first day first show event at Kamala Theatre, Chennai. He said he was initially worried whether the humor would land but was relieved to see the audience laughing and enjoying the film. He noted that this is a departure from his usually serious films, and it was fulfilling to witness such a warm response. Speaking about Mirchi Shiva, Ram praised his performance saying, “This is an important film in Shiva’s career. He’s the people’s superstar.” He recalled how almost 4,000 people gathered to see Shiva during filming in rural areas, highlighting his popularity and relatability. Ram also appreciated Shiva’s comedic timing and emotional portrayal of a loving father, stating that audiences will now accept him in such fatherly roles too. Read More

BREAKING: Karan Johar’s Dharma Productions in process of acquiring remake rights of Odia industry’s HIGHEST grosser Bou Bhuttu Bhuta

Entertainment After remaking Marathi, Gujarati and films of Southern industries, Bollywood has now set its eyes on the rising Odia industry. It has come to light that the sale of remake rights of the Odia film Bou Buttu Bhuta is in process. Further, the rights are being acquired by none other than Karan Johar’s Dharma Productions. BREAKING: Karan Johar’s Dharma Productions in process of acquiring remake rights of Odia industry’s HIGHEST grosser Bou Bhuttu Bhuta As per a notice published in Komal Nahta’s Film Information magazine by Rakhee Bajpai Tiwari, Chief Legal Officer, Dharma Productions Private Limited, the company has officially announced that it is in the process of acquiring the remake rights of the popular Odia film Bou Buttu Bhuta (2025), starring Babushaan Mohanty, Archita Sahu, and Aparajita Mohanty. According to the public notice, the acquisition covers remake rights in all Indian languages and world languages, along with derivative rights. This includes the ability to develop, produce, distribute, and exploit remakes across all mediums and platforms. The rights also extend to dubbing and subtitling the film in all languages globally, in perpetuity. The notice further states that Babushaan Films Private Limited, which holds the rights to the original film, is the sole and lawful owner of all intellectual property related to the movie and that the rights are free from any encumbrances or third-party claims. Interested parties, if any, have been asked to make their claims within 15 days of the notice to avoid waiving any rights. Bou Buttu Bhuta released earlier this year, on June 12, and has emerged as the highest Odia grosser of all time despite competition from films like Housefull 5 and Sitaare Zameen Par. It opened with an opening of just Rs. 40 lakhs approx. and then went on to earn Rs. 1.25 crores on its fourth day, that is, Sunday. On the fifth day, it collected a huge Rs. 1.05 crores despite it being a working Monday. The lifetime earnings are said to be around Rs. 14-15 crores, which is double the total collections of the second-highest Odia grosser, Daman (2022); it collected around Rs. 7.50 crores in its lifetime. Bou Buttu Bhuta is a horror-thriller-comedy and tells the story of a fish-farmer who goes out of the village for work. While returning home, he gets possessed by a ghost, which results in madness in the village, particularly for his sorceress mother and his love interest. The decision to acquire Bou Bhuttu Bhuta aligns with Karan Johar-led Dharma Productions’ strategy of diversifying its portfolio beyond Hindi-language originals and tapping into narratives that can be reimagined for a larger market. The remake could potentially feature a leading Bollywood cast and a fresh directorial vision, giving the Odia hit a national spotlight. Supreme Court rejects Jacqueline Fernandez’s plea in Rs 200 crores fraud case

Entertainment The Supreme Court on Monday dismissed a petition filed by actress Jacqueline Fernandez in connection with the Rs 200 crores fraud case linked to conman Sukesh Chandrasekhar, refusing to grant her any relief. Jacqueline had approached the apex court challenging the Delhi High Court’s July 3 order, which had rejected her plea to quash the FIR lodged by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) in the money laundering case. Supreme Court rejects Jacqueline Fernandez’s plea in Rs 200 crores fraud case Jacqueline’s Plea In her petition, the actress reportedly argued that she is a victim of Sukesh’s targeted attack. The plea mentioned that the ED itself admitted Tihar jail officials had given Sukesh access to mobile phones and other electronic devices, which he allegedly used to cheat not only the complainant but also several members of the film industry, including Fernandez. Jacqueline also highlighted that she is a prosecution witness in the predicate offence and argued that further proceedings against her should therefore be quashed. The Delhi High Court, however, had earlier ruled that questions about Jacqueline’s intent and knowledge of the alleged crime can only be determined during trial. The actress, best known for films like Murder 2 and Kick, has consistently maintained that the charges are false and that she was unaware of Sukesh’s criminal background. ED’s Allegations Against Jacqueline According to the ED, Jacqueline allegedly received luxury gifts worth around Rs 7 crores from Sukesh. The agency maintains that these gifts were part of the proceeds of crime generated through the Rs 200 crores fraud. Sukesh Chandrasekhar is accused of cheating Shivinder Singh and Malvinder Singh, the spouses of former Ranbaxy promoters, of Rs 200 crores. He is also accused of conning multiple high-profile individuals while in Tihar jail. With the Supreme Court’s dismissal of her petition, Jacqueline will now have to face trial in the money laundering case, where questions of intent and knowledge will be examined in detail. Yami Gautam Dhar walks into the Supreme Court in first poster of HAQ; teaser to release on September 23, 2025

Entertainment Junglee Pictures, in association with Insomnia Films and Baweja Studios, today released the first teaser poster for their highly anticipated film, HAQ. The poster features a powerful and evocative image, with a looming promise of a pre-teaser unit arriving later today, and the official teaser coming out tomorrow. Yami Gautam Dhar walks into the Supreme Court in first poster of HAQ; teaser to release on September 23, 2025 The poster itself is a work of art, with a gritty, vintage-film aesthetic. At the centre is Yami Gautam Dhar as the lead, seen from behind, walking resolutely towards an imposing court building that appears to be the Supreme Court of India. She is draped in a shawl and holding a file close to her chest, her posture suggesting a woman on a determined journey for justice. The names of the lead actors, Yami Gautam Dhar and Emraan Hashmi, are displayed prominently at the top, along with the film’s title, HAQ, which translates to “Right”. The poster is completed with a powerful tagline at the bottom that reads: “Who will provide justice—community or law?” Directed by Suparn S Varma, it is inspired by the landmark legal case that shook the nation: the Shah Bano vs. Ahmed Khan case of 1985. The film delves into the complexities of this real-life legal battle, which centred on a divorced Muslim woman’s fight for maintenance from her husband under Section 125 of the CrPC. The film promises to be a hard-hitting narrative that examines crucial themes of personal law, gender rights, and secularism. Reportedly, Emraan Hashmi will portray a sharp yet morally conflicted lawyer, a role that reportedly draws inspiration from the husband in the case, Ahmed Khan. Meanwhile, Yami Gautam, who has previously impressed audiences with her role in the critically acclaimed and commercially successful Article 370, takes on the challenging role of the woman at the heart of the legal fight. The film has quietly completed its shooting and is currently in the post-production phase. Kevin Hart’s Mumbai Debut Proves That India Belongs on The Global Live Comedy Circuit

Entertainment The comedian’s long-awaited India show had fans locking away their phones and roaring with laughter, signaling a new era for international stand-up in the country. Photo by Kevin Winter/Getty Images On a drizzly Sunday night in Mumbai, thousands willingly surrendered their phones to sealed pouches, a scene almost unimaginable in a city that’s always buzzing. But it was all in service of a greater cause: Kevin Hart was finally making his long-anticipated India debut at NSCI Dome SVP Stadium. Produced by event promoter District Live, this was the kind of arena-sized spectacle that proves international stand-up has truly arrived in India, uniting the comedy community and sending fans of every age into fits of laughter. Inside, the venue was swathed in shades of deep purple, including a giant cheekily titled “Hart felt notes” area where fans could scribble out messages and dedications to the Grammy and Emmy-nominated comedian, also known for his roles in movies like Jumanji, Scary Movie, and Get Hard.  Opening duties fell to Will “Spank” Horton and Na’im Lynn, two-thirds of Hart’s longtime crew, the Plastic Cup Boyz. Across back-to-back sets, they mined the universal midlife crisis for laughs, divulging the gory details on everything from hairy butts to creeping irrelevance. A few detours into arranged marriage tropes and “nagging wife” bits felt a little predictably stale, but the energy was undeniable, setting the tone for the no-holds-barred riffs Hart was about to unleash. Photo courtesy of District by Zomato An uproarious fit of clapping broke out as Kevin Hart walked onto the stage, clutching his mic like it was made to be dropped. Through a searing hour-long set, Hart’s Acting My Age took us through the perils of growing older, stitched together with the kind of bewildering anecdotes only he could spin. One moment, he’s recounting his nephew coming out at a family dinner and his aunt announcing she’s obese—two confessions that left him scrambling to break the awkward silence; the next, he’s rambling about his dick flying into a bush, needing pills just to stand up (pun intended, of course), and coming face-to-face with a silverback gorilla duing a family vacation in Rwanda. Each punchline was delivered with the exaggerated expressions, body language, and voice modulation that have made Hart the global sensation he is. And beneath all the chaos was a throughline of fragility: the way time chips away at us until all that’s left is an absurd comedy of survival. Mumbai was here for it. The crowd laughed, winced, and cheered at all the right points, proving that India has the potential to be more than just a last-minute addition on a global comedy tour. If thousands are willing to risk the withdrawal symptoms of having their phones taken away on a Sunday night just to catch Hart’s spiral about age, awkward family dinners, and gorilla treks, it’s a sign that the appetite for international live comedy here is ravenous. For promoters, that means more opportunities to curate not just big-ticket imports, but lineups that showcase India’s own thriving stand-up scene, one of the fastest-growing legs of live entertainment in the country. For comics, it’s a sign that putting India on their world tour map is no joking matter. Photo courtesy of District by Zomato Read More

Arjun Sagar Gupta Looks Back on a Decade of The Piano Man

Entertainment From Safdarjung Enclave to Gurugram, Gupta takes us through the venue’s journey, the evolution of India’s live music scene, and the road ahead. What began in Safdarjung Enclave as an intimate basement club quickly evolved into a cornerstone of Delhi’s cultural life, a rare space where live jazz, swing, and blues took center stage rather than simply being background noise. Over the course of a decade, The Piano Man expanded into Saket and then Gurugram, each venue taking on its own identity while staying true to its DNA of music-first programming. Along the way, its stages have hosted giants like Chick Corea, Herbie Hancock, and Tigran Hamasyan, as well as hundreds of Indian and international artists who found in this venue something the city sorely lacked: a consistent, respectful, and professional platform for live performance.  I first met Arjun Sagar Gupta in 2019, when I was still new to the job and he was already deep into the unlikely project of building a home for jazz in Delhi. Six years later, we reconnect the morning after The Piano Man’s 10th anniversary—a milestone that speaks to just how far his vision has travelled  To mark the occasion, I caught up with Gupta to talk about the anniversary, the evolution of the scene, and what lies ahead—a trip down memory lane best paired with a cigarette, a Whiskey Sour, and a good ear. Excerpts below:  Rolling Stone India: You performed yesterday at the 10th anniversary. What was the night like for you?  Arjun Sagar Gupta: It was wonderful. I was just moving through different shades of swing and jazz, and then at certain points, I was playing with friends I hadn’t jammed with in a long while. Towards the end of the night, it just became a free-flowing thing—the drummer took off in one direction, I followed, and we just had fun. That’s really what it was about. Not overthinking it, just enjoying the music together. And because it was the 10th year, it felt like a celebration in the truest sense.  Looking back, what do you think is the biggest shift you’ve seen in yourself from when you first set off on this project ten years ago?  That’s an interesting question—nobody has ever actually asked me that. I’d split it into three buckets: the personal, the professional, and the musician.  On a personal level, I’ve changed in how I deal with stress, time management, and my priorities. Back then I was still figuring it out; now The Piano Man has become my purpose, and with that comes clarity. You know what you’re trying to do, what impact you’d like to have, and that gives you direction even if the results take years to show.  Professionally, the change has been huge. I’m not a business school brat, so I had to learn everything on the job—how to run a team, how to build an environment where people can thrive. Early on, I was more arrogant, thought I knew it all. Over time you realize the world is vast, and there’s always more to learn. That’s humbling, and it shapes the way you manage people. A lot of my team has been with me from the start; from 20–30 people in the early days we’ve grown to over 200, and about a third of them have stayed for over ten years. In a small organization that’s pretty rare, and it reflects how much we’ve grown together.  And then there’s the musician bucket. The way I interact with artists today is very different from ten years ago. The organization has grown, so the impact we can have on musicians has grown too. Building a robust ecosystem for art has always been a priority, and I think the last decade has been about slowly making that ecosystem more professional and sustainable.  When you started out, India’s live music circuit was pretty fragmented. How have you seen it evolve?  When I started performing back in 2002, the scene was very unstructured. There was no consistency, no infrastructure, no communication, and often no payment either, or it came after three, six months, or never. Even big venues behaved that way.  So when we started The Piano Man, we focused on fixing those issues. Infrastructure, sound, timely payments, respect for the artist. We decided that whatever the amount agreed upon, it had to be paid on time. That was non-negotiable. Over the years we’ve tightened those systems, and now there’s a baseline expectation that artists should be treated professionally. If a venue is toxic, musicians have alternatives and will simply avoid it. That gradual shift has forced the industry to clean up its act, at least in part.  Looking back at ten years of programming, which performances stand out the most for you?  That’s always the hardest question, because there have been so many. But some are truly unforgettable. Hosting Chick Corea in 2018, for example, or Herbie Hancock, or Tigran Hamasyan. To have these giants of jazz—people whose music shaped the genre itself— perform at your space is surreal. It felt like a parallel universe, like: did this actually happen?  At the same time, there are evenings with lesser-known musicians that stay with me just as strongly. For example, the anniversary weekend itself had two phenomenal women playing a delicate set on piano. They’re not world-famous, but the quality and emotional weight of their music was incredible. That’s the beauty of it—it’s not just about the legends, it’s about creating a space where every artist can move people deeply.  Each Piano Man venue has its own energy. What was your thinking behind expanding to new spaces?  Safdarjung, the first, was all about creating a home for jazz and building a community around it. Eldeco in Saket widened the spectrum—we wanted to bring in more non-commercial music and expose audiences to different genres. Gurugram, which came eight years into the journey, was about lifestyle: how do we get people in that city to engage with live

Badvillain: ‘Thriller’ Is Proof of How Much We’ve Improved’

Entertainment Badvillain shares anecdotes on their journey to self-expression, using ‘Thriller’ as a song to showcase their confidence, attitude, and emotional depth Badvillain. Photo: courtesy of BPM Entertainment. In a fast-moving K-pop industry, keeping up with the relentless release cycle and staying top of mind is no easy feat, especially when returning from a long absence. This is precisely why Badvillain’s return with “Thriller” is a decisive moment in their career. The South Korean girl group, featuring Emma, Chloe Young, Hu’e, Ina, Yunseo, Vin, and Kelly, is back nearly a year after their debut in 2024, to reassert themselves and their sound. The moniker “Badvillain” reflects their ethos of challenging the status quo, an image further solidified by the new release. Chloe Young says, “In comparison to our previous releases, ‘Thriller’ is a minimal track with distinct synth sounds, and that truly shows Badvillain’s direction and accentuates our vision.” She also explains that the song’s catchy sing-along element and minimalist beat highlight a chill, laid-back vibe. “What’s more, our bold and intense performance translates into confidence to fully enjoy every stage, while still bearing the excitement and courage within us to try out new challenges.” Speaking of their artistic evolution, Hu’e highlights how “Thriller” serves as a powerful expression of their “Born to be Visionary” philosophy. Since their debut in 2024 with the album Overstep, the group has kept evolving with tracks like “Badvillain,” “Badtitude,” “+82,” “Hurricane,” and “Zoom,” each one speaking to their super confident personality and unapologetic attitude. Emma reflects on the journey, saying, “If Overstep was a challenge that started everything for us, ‘Thriller’ is proof of how much we’ve improved. We’ve experimented with a genre we have never tried before—a punchy, minimal hip-hop beat—and paired it with a high heel performance, revealing a more mature side of Badvillain.” Kelly adds that while Overstep focused on powerful performance, “Thriller” follows a more nuanced approach to expressing emotions. “We want to be seen as artists who not only deliver a strong performance but also as artists who can express a wide range of sentiments.” “We also want to share our stories and goals, creating music that people can relate to and draw strength from.” —Chloe Young. Photo: courtesy of BPM Entertainment. The track’s slick visuals scream confidence, manifesting in the chorus line, “I’m stepping in the vibe, so killer / I’m the scene killer / I’m the thriller.” The dichotomy between subtlety and explosive energy is a highlight of the song. Vin opens up about their comeback preparation: “We were like, ‘How do we level up?’ ‘How do we perform to bring out a refreshing twist?’ And the answer was ‘Thriller’.” Ina adds that for the choreography, they challenged themselves by performing in high heels. “Through this song, we hope to inspire you with the same confidence so that wherever you go, you can step into the room like you own it!” In the music video, the band performs in a junkyard with moving cars. They own the chaotic space, showing off their sharp dance moves, style, and attitude, creating cinematic moments that are both gritty and glamorous. The video shoot had its share of challenges, like when Yunseo had to perfect a spinning move in stilettos on an uneven asphalt floor. But with her fellow group members cheering her on, she was able to pull it off. The set also had its memorable moments, such as the chorus performance with 10 dancers in heels, which created a synchronized sound that Emma says, “will remain in our memories for a long time.” “Thriller” sets the tone for the group’s evolving sound. “We want to share even more sides of Badvillain,” Ina states. Hip-hop is at the heart of their music, which she believes is “an inseparable part of K-pop.” And while deeply rooted in the genre, they’ll continue to “study and grow within it,” remaining open to exploring different styles. At the end of the day, what they really want is to make music about their stories, and as Chloe Young hopes, “become someone’s motivation to chase their dreams.” Read More
