Bombay High Court dismisses copyright claim against Dream Girl 2; calls allegations ‘far-fetched’

Entertainment The Bombay High Court has thrown out a copyright infringement plea against Balaji Telefilms over its 2023 comedy Dream Girl 2, ruling that the film’s storyline is entirely different from the applicant’s work and that the claim of breach of confidence was ‘far-fetched’. Bombay High Court dismisses copyright claim against Dream Girl 2; calls allegations ‘far-fetched’ The case was filed by writer Ashim Kumar Bagchi, who claimed the Ayushmann Khurrana-starrer was based on his script originally titled Kal Kisne Dekha and later re-registered as The Show Must Go On. Bagchi alleged that his story — a gender-swap comedy about a man impersonating a woman and navigating hilarious situations whenever his real identity was at risk — had been shared in confidence with one of the film’s credited writers years ago. He argued that elements of his work had been used without permission. However, the court observed that what Bagchi was seeking amounted to a monopoly over generic ideas and common comedic tropes — such as mistaken identity and disguise — that cannot be protected under copyright law. These elements, the court said, were “stock” and “unoriginal” in nature and therefore not eligible for protection. Finding no substantive similarity between the two works, the judges dismissed the case and ordered Bagchi to pay Rs 1 lakh each in costs to Balaji Telefilms and another defendant. Directed by Raaj Shaandilyaa, Dream Girl 2 is the sequel to the 2019 blockbuster Dream Girl. The film sees Ayushmann Khurrana reprising his role as Karam, who once again takes on the female persona of ‘Pooja’, leading to a series of comedic chaos and romantic misunderstandings. Featuring Ananya Panday as the female lead alongside Paresh Rawal, Vijay Raaz, and Rajpal Yadav, the movie was a commercial success, cementing its place as one of Bollywood’s most popular comedy franchises. The film was a spiritual successor to the 2019 comedy also featuring Ayushmann. Aamir Khan reveals he didn’t charge a penny for Coolie; “Sharing the screen with Rajni sir is reward enough”

Entertainment Amidst the unsavoury accusations from his brother, Aamir Khan quietly jetted off for a vacation with his ladylove Gauri Spratt on Tuesday. “I needed a breather; some pause from all the stress. Gauri has a very calming effect on me. Just being around her makes me feel peaceful,” Aamir told this writer. Aamir Khan reveals he didn’t charge a penny for Coolie; “Sharing the screen with Rajni sir is reward enough” The past week has been far from easy for the actor, with his brother Faisal accusing him of enforced confinement, among other things. Aamir was expected to attend a pre-release event in Hyderabad for Coolie alongside Rajinikanth and Nagarjuna, but chose to give it a miss, preferring to avoid uncomfortable questions from the media about his family situation. In conversation, Aamir confirmed he hasn’t charged any money for Coolie. “No, Subhash, I haven’t charged any money. I have too much love and respect for Rajni Sir to even think of money. Just sharing the screen with him is reward enough.” On his decision to fly off on the eve of the film’s release, Aamir explained, “It isn’t as if I am the hero of Coolie. I am just a cameo player. Rajini Sir and Nag play the central characters. On the occasion of India’s 79th Independence Day, the makers of Border 2 unveiled the film’s first poster along with its official release date. The war drama, inspired by true stories, is set to hit theatres on January 22, 2026, giving audiences the perfect build-up to the extended Republic Day weekend. Border 2: Makers drop first poster on the occasion of India’s Independence Day; see post The timing of the announcement serves as a tribute to India’s Bravehearts, echoing the patriotic sentiment that made the original Border a landmark film in Indian cinema. The newly released poster showcases Sunny Deol back in his most memorable role — a battle-hardened soldier — dressed in military gear and gripping a bazooka with fierce determination. With an intense gaze and the weight of duty etched on his face, Deol embodies the courage and sacrifice of the Indian armed forces, ready to once again lead audiences into an emotionally charged cinematic battlefield. Speaking about the announcement, producer Bhushan Kumar said, “Border is more than a film — it’s an emotion for every Indian. With Border 2, we aim to carry forward that legacy and bring it to a new generation. The new release date gives audiences more time to come together and experience the film in theatres during an extended Republic Day weekend.” Producer Nidhi Dutta added, “The first Border was a heartfelt salute to our armed forces. This time, we return with the same passion, a fresh story, and a promise to evoke the same pride and tears in every theatre. With the new release date, we are happy to bring the film to cinemas sooner, allowing audiences to enjoy a longer Republic Day weekend.” Director Anurag Singh highlighted the significance of the Independence Day reveal, stating, “Announcing the date on Independence Day is symbolic. This day reminds us of the sacrifices made by our soldiers for India’s freedom and so does our film. It’s an honour and a privilege to honour their undying spirit through this story.” Directed by Anurag Singh, Border 2 features an ensemble cast including Sunny Deol, Varun Dhawan, Diljit Dosanjh, Ahan Shetty, Medha Rana, Mona Singh, and Sonam Bajwa. The film is produced by Bhushan Kumar and J.P. Dutta, with production support from Krishan Kumar and Nidhi Dutta, under the banners of T-Series and J.P. Films. K-Drama Flashback: ‘Navillera’

Entertainment ‘Navillera’ is about an unlikely friendship between a 70-year-old ballet dreamer and his young teacher, capturing life’s beauty and pain, and the beauty of second chances, starring Park In-hwan and Song Kang Park In-hwan (front) and Song Kang (back) in a still from ‘Navillera.’ Photo: courtesy of Netflix. You know, there are moments when you’re completely at a loss for words, and Navillera (2021) was one such moment for me—as if the drama tore into my emotions, leaving an aching void in me while also comforting me. I was left with a heart both heavy and healed, like experiencing a paradox that only the most powerful stories can evoke. I was never a big fan of tear-jerkers until I saw Navillera, and it made me a fan forever. Director Han Dong-hwa adapts this webtoon of the same name into an insightful, poignant drama about a lost dream, the itch and struggle to revive and realize it, and the strength needed to rise above challenges when Shim Deok-chul (Park In-hwan), a 70-year-old retired man, decides to pursue his lifelong dream of learning ballet. Incidentally, he sees Lee Chae-rok (Song Kang), a talented ballerino at a ballet studio. Chae-rok is just 23 but burdened by pain—a deceased mother, a father behind bars, and the daily grind to stay afloat. He’s working very hard to get by, but in the process, his love for ballet is slowly fading away. Then, when he meets Deok-chul, something stirs within him, gradually bonding with him so well that it becomes a catalyst for change. Chae-rok becomes Deok-chul’s teacher after the ballet studio owner agrees to enroll him, provided he works as Chae-rok’s manager, which the latter accepts. At first, Chae-rok is too wary of his new student to believe that he can learn anything even close to ballet, given his age. But he soon succumbs to Deok-chul’s infectious determination and positive attitude, with Deok-chul gradually becoming the parent, the grandfather, and the friend Chae-rok never knew he needed, just as he becomes Deok-chul’s inspiration and fills the vacuum in his life that his own family couldn’t. Each day and by the minute, they grow closer through situations, mutual support, and understanding. At a moment when Deok-chul says, “Chae-rok shines so bright even when he practices,” he isn’t just admiring him but encouraging him to remain true to his passion. In a similar vein, Chae-rok’s care and concern for Deok-chul, especially after discovering that the latter has Alzheimer’s, and how he becomes worried and protective about him while still encouraging his dream, is a reminder that a little love can go a long way. Navillera wins in its portrayal of life’s bittersweet nature through Deok Chul’s diagnosis. In life, every goodbye becomes a lesson in the preciousness of time, as Deok Chul says, “Every single day is precious because I don’t have much time left.” This fragility between life and time is where Deok Chul finds his rhythm, his steps faltering yet fixed on learning ballet, defying society and family. As Director Han Dong-hwa reflected in an interview, “I think everyone gets on the stage called life. On that stage, there will be a first act, a second act, and a third act. I hope that viewers will never lose hope but rather challenge themselves and leap forward through the various stages in life.” Navillera also presents a thoughtful look at family dynamics, personal identity, and the complexities that arise in human relationships. Through Deok-chul’s experience, we see how those around us can be judgmental and limiting as we age. His wife, Choi Hae-nam (Na Moon-hee), and their children, Shim Sung-san (Jung Hae-kyun) and Shim Sung-gwan (Jo Bok-rae), struggle to accept their father’s newfound passion due to his age and their own perceptions of him. Still, his diligent efforts gradually win them over, and his influence starts permeating their lives. For example, Sung-gwan, Deok-chul’s second son, gains newfound inspiration from his father after giving up being a doctor to pursue his dream of becoming a film director. Chae-rok’s complex relationship with his father, on the other hand, keeps weighing on him. Thanks to Deok-chul’s presence, Chae-rok is brought back on track. Their relationship has a ripple effect on those around them, including Chae-rok’s cynical ballet teacher, Mr. Ki (Kim Tae-hoon), and Deok-chul’s granddaughter, Shim Eun-ho (Hong Seung-hee), who finds Deok-chul’s pursuit of ballet relating to her own journey of self-discovery as she finds her passion for writing and learns to seize opportunities. The word “Navillera” apparently comes from a Korean poem called Dance the Monk by Cho Ji-hoon, where it’s described as something fluttering around like a butterfly, as shared by Reddit user Johnnystation. In the drama, ballet isn’t just about the dance form—it’s a symbol of life itself. The butterfly concept shows the beauty that ballet is, but more than anything else, I think it perfectly captures Deok-chul’s journey to spread his wings and follow his dreams. Navillera draws a unique parallel between the difficult technical elements of ballet and the emotional ups and downs that the characters go through. The final duet performance of Deok-chul and Chae-rok conveys the theme of the show in the best possible way, highlighting how artistic expression and the human spirit can change us and help us become more of what we want to be. The ending scene is just surreal—Deok-chul and Chae-rok reunite three years later in the snow, wrapping up the drama with a perfect bow. Even as Deok-chul’s memory fades, his eyes still light up seeing his ballet teacher—proof that perhaps he remembers him and what they have shared. As the story wraps up, what Chae-rok once told Deok-chul comes to mind: “Even if you don’t remember me, I’ll remember you,” reminding us how some connections are meant to be forever; they never fade or fail, even when memories do. Watch Navillera if you haven’t, watch the performances, and see how the K-drama navigates emotions and captures the beauty and pain of life—it might just change

‘Fixed’ Is an Animated Movie Aimed at Dog Lovers and PornHub Addicts

Entertainment The fact that Netflix didn’t let Samurai Jack creator Genndy Tartakovsky call his horny-canine comedy Doggy Style is the only sign of restraint here The horny canine heroes of ‘Fixed’ Netflix The thing about puppies is, they start out all small and cute and oh-so-adorable. Look at their puppy paws, way too big for their itty-bitty widdle bodies! Listen to their playful woofs and yips, as they tumble around and trip over themselves! Feel how fuzzy their rolly-polly bellies are, as you give the lil’ buddies an affectionate tummy scratch! Then they get older, and bigger, and more attuned to the interests of pets of a certain age. Biology starts to work its magic, as it does on all of God’s beautiful creatures. And the next thing you know, the family dog is frantically fucking grandma’s leg like like there’s no tomorrow. Genndy Tartakovsky’s Fixed kicks off with this 0-to-60 mph progression, as a family brings home a baby bull terrier named, naturally, Bull. Cue a quick “Two years later” title card, and we find our hero en flagrante delecto with Nana’s varicose-veined calf. To say that the running commentary accompanying this animated pooch’s sexual encounter is pornographic would be putting it lightly; we’ll just note that Bull is extremely verbal. After being shoo-ed away by his owners before he’s reached a state of release, he then proceeds to have intimate relations with a cup of mint ice cream, a rubber ball, an umbrella, a purse, and a bowl of fruit. Finally, a garden hose gets turned on full-blast, and for better or worse, so does Bull. You’re either laughing hysterically after reading that paragraph above or have the same look on your face that occurs when encountering spoiled milk. And that’s pretty much the either/or in terms of reactions to this. Tartakovsky is a bona fide legend in modern animation, but Samurai Jack this ain’t, and this attempt to outswim Adult Swim in terms of giddily obscene humor just feels like he binged all of Ren & Stimpy and Ralph Bakshi’s back catalog over a holiday weekend. It’s a gross-out comedy aimed specifically at folks who have calendars of dogs dressed up in human clothes, 12-year-old boys and/or PornHub addicts in equal measure. The fact that Netflix, who dropped this on its site today, didn’t let him call the movie Doggy Style may be the only sign of restraint here. You can’t blame Bull (voiced by Adam Devine, who sounds like the only direction he was given was, “Do your best Jack Black impersonation”) for wanting to hump everything in sight. He’s a literal horndog. Nor can you blame him for harboring a crush on Honey (Kathryn Hahn), the queen-bitch Afghan hound who lives next door to him. They’ve been best friends since they were pups, and she sees the kind heart behind the raging hormones. Still, Bull doesn’t understand why Honey is so excited about taking part in a dog show, given that it’s so demeaning to their species. Don’t the judges just parade you around, then poke, prod and grope you? She has issues with that last verb: “They aren’t groping me,” she protests. “They are gently touching my body, then judging me on how it feels.” Bull also runs with a pack of other neighborhood dogs, including an alpha boxer named Rocco (Idris Elba), a nerdy but socially ambitious dachshund named Fetch (Fred Armisen), and a catshit-eating beagle named Lucky (Bobby Moynihan). They spend their days sniffing butts and chasing balls. Speaking of balls: The gang spots one of their peers sporting a cone around his head. He’s just had a medical procedure done, see. And when the big guy turns around, everyone at the dog park notices that he’s conspicuously missing his cojones. Bulls shrieks in terror. He can’t imagine losing his prized possessions. Then the bull terrier comes home later that afternoon, and starts to get suspicious about why his owners are acting uncharacteristically nice to him. It turns out that he is indeed scheduled to be neutered the next morning. So Bull does what any sensible, testicle-loving mutt would do. He gets the hell outta the house and heads for some imagined Shangri-La where he can perpetually fuck human legs in peace. A (slightly censored) scene from ‘Fixed.’Netflix From here, Fixed turns into one castration-anxiety punch line and dick joke after another, and while we do love a good dick joke, the whole thing wears out its welcome way too quickly. The manic jazzbo score doesn’t help, even if it’s meant to subversively evoke vintage Hanna-Barbera cartoons, nor does the feeling that Tartakovsky and co-writers Steve Greenberg and Jon Vitti aren’t aiming for the funniest anthropomorphic gags so much merely plucking every low-hanging-fruit — pun 1000-percent intended in this case — in bulk. The closest thing to an imaginative set piece involves a kennel and the command to “Bellagio these fuckers,” which, yeah. Don’t ask. Meanwhile, you wonder if Dave Chappelle wrote the scenes involving an intersex Dobermann voiced by River Gallo. There’s also a love triangle involving Bull, Honey, and a snooty Borzoi (Beck Bennett) which is meant to gird all of the self-conscious raunchiness with rom-com sweetness, and somehow makes the whole affair feel even more phony and half-baked. Fixed should have been, by any measure, the fix we needed in terms of balls-out hilarity about neurotic, sex-crazed creatures, or even just a parable from an animation godhead about humans being just as beholden to animal instincts as our four-legged friends. Instead, we get a wildly uneven, totally obvious, and often painfully unfunny 80 minutes. It’s enough to drive you nuts. From Rolling Stone US. Read More

Kid Cudi Declined to Testify Against Diddy Twice, Then Had No Choice: ‘Hated Every Minute’

Entertainment The musician eventually found “peace” on the stand at Sean Combs’ trial because he wanted to support Cassie after her “nightmare” Kid Cudi on July 21, 2025 in New York City. Arturo Holmes/WireImage Kid Cudi says he “hated every minute” of his time on the witness stand at Sean Combs’ sex trafficking and racketeering trial in New York. Still, he found “peace” knowing he was there to support Casandra “Cassie” Ventura, the R&B singer who testified that Combs routinely beat and harassed her during their tumultuous decade-long dating relationship. Appearing on the Call Her Daddy podcast to promote his new memoir, Cudi, whose real name is Scott Mescudi, revealed that he twice said no to prosecutors when they asked him to testify voluntarily. He then received a subpoena and had no choice. “At first they asked, I said no. They asked again. I said no. Then I got subpoenaed. And I was like, ‘Fuck, shit, no,’” Mescudi recalled. He considered wearing a suit but then decided he wasn’t “dressing up for this shit.” He arrived at the federal courthouse in downtown Manhattan in jeans and a black leather jacket, smoking a cigarette. “I hated every minute of it,” he recalled. “I did not want to do it.” The Grammy winner said he managed to get through his May 22 testimony by thinking about Ventura, whom he dated in 2011 when she was taking a break from Combs amid what he testified were “some problems” in that relationship. “I was calm,” Mescudi told podcast host Alex Cooper. He recalled thinking to himself that he was there to corroborate Ventura after she gave four days of grueling testimony the week before. ”I just was there to support her. That’s what kind of gave me peace with it when I sat down in that chair. It [went from], ‘Damn, I don’t want to do this,’ to being like, ‘Oh man, I gotta like hold homegirl down and, you know, look out for her,’” he said. “Cassie is my friend, you know, and I love her, and I want to see her do well,” he told Cooper. “When I saw her get married, I was so happy for her that she found … her person. When I saw that she was having kids, I was like, awww, this is so awesome. I’ve always just wanted to see her thrive and do well and be happy, because I know she was living the nightmare.” Combs ultimately was acquitted of sex trafficking and racketeering conspiracy, though he was convicted of two felony counts of transportation to engage in prostitution. In his closing argument, Combs’ lead lawyer admitted Combs subjected Ventura to brutal domestic violence, but he said the abuse didn’t amount to sex trafficking. Mescudi was considered a key witness for prosecutors. They questioned him at length about the heart-pounding day in December 2011 when Combs discovered Ventura and Mescudi were dating. He said Combs was irate and personally broke into his home to confront him. Mescudi recalled racing to the home and connecting with Combs by phone during the ride over. “Motherfucker, are you in my house?” he recalled demanding. The two did not end up meeting face to face that day, but Mescudi testified that he returned to find that his Christmas presents were unwrapped and his dog was locked in a bathroom, clearly traumatized by something. He told jurors that his Porsche was later firebombed outside his Hollywood Hills home in January 2012. Mescudi told jurors that when he went to meet Combs at the Soho House in Los Angeles because the situation was “getting out of hand,” he found Combs “standing there, staring out the window with his hands behind his back, like a Marvel supervillain.” Combs refused to acknowledge any connection to the car fire, Mescudi told the jury. In her own testimony, Ventura said Combs had told her he planned to bomb Mescudi’s car. Mescudi told jurors he believed Combs “was lying” when he denied any connection. During the trial, Combs’ defense team further denied that the music mogul was to blame. Speaking to Cooper, Mescudi said his run-in with Combs was surreal. “In the moment, it was just crazy, like, I had a hard time understanding if it was reality. I was like, ‘Am I in a movie? What the fuck is going on?” he recalled. “It was just chaotic and intense,” he continued. “I was already out of my mind, dealing with my own personal shit, so I was really just like, ‘Fuck it,’ you know? I was willing to walk into the fire.” The “Pursuit of Happiness” rapper said that before Ventura filed her civil lawsuit against Combs in November 2023, publicly revealing the firebombing for the first time, he considered his encounters with Combs to be “just some crazy shit that happened.” He called it another chapter in his “rock and roll life.” Mescudi also addressed Combs’ trial during an interview with CBS Mornings on Wednesday, saying it was “really hard” to testify. “It was weird, man, because that was the first time I had seen [Combs] in a while,” he recalled. “We made eye contact a couple times. I know I did the right thing, so that’s all that matters.” From Rolling Stone US. Read More

Razer Wolverine V3 Pro 8K PC Controller Review – Next Level Gaming Control

Razer Wolverine V3 Pro 8K PC Controller Review If I’m headed to Home Depot for bags of mulch, my old truck with three bald tires and upholstery patched with duct tape will do just fine. In fact, it’s perfect for the job. But my beloved beater is gonna get smoked on the oval track. It’s the same with controllers. For undemanding everyday games, that unbranded Walmart controller that feels like a toy might work ok. But if you’re into competitive Esports, or just want a definite edge in a casual game of Fortnite, you need to up your game. That’s where Razer’s Wolverine V3 Pro 8K PC Controller comes in. It’s essentially a PC-centric version of the excellent Razer Wolverine V3 Pro, but with the kind of lightspeed polling only achievable on PC. Sports Car Specs As bullet points on a spec sheet, the Wolverine V3 Pro 8K PC Controller can’t help but impress. The controller features an 8K Hz hyperpolling rate, which is 32x faster than standard console/PC wireless controllers. It has TMR thumb sticks, making thumb stick drift an unpleasant memory. Competitive gaming aside, this is almost a must-have feature. The Wolverine V3 Pro 8K PC features 4 Mouse Click Back Buttons and 2 Claw Grip Bumpers that are fully remappable.  Continuing on, the controller includes Razer Pro HyperTriggers, which allow for seamless switching between backside mouse buttons and regular triggers. Mecha-Tactile PBT Action Buttons and 8-Way Floating D-Pad are incredibly fast and responsive. There’s a 2 meter braided cable, a padded hard case and alternative thumbstick caps to round out the package. Of course, just about every performance parameter and key assignments can be tweaked via Razer’s Synapse software.  A Lightweight Heavyweight The Wolverine V3 Pro 8K PC is described as Razer’s lightest Esports wireless controller. Man, does it feel light and easy to hold for extended play sessions. Since most of the unit’s weight is in the center back, there is a very slight resistance to keeping the controller either perfectly vertical or horizontal. With controllers, light sometimes means cheap, but this unit feels absolutely premium. It has nicely textured grips and the most responsive thumb sticks I’ve ever felt by far. One small complaint is that the power button is a bit slow to respond. I’m not a claw grip guy, but I can see the Wolverine V3 Pro 8K PC tempting me to learn it. Nah, who am I kidding? Still, I’m glad the option is there. Use Case Scenario Nothing is perfect, but what is a potential downside for the casual gamer is a total win for the demanding user. The V3 Pro 8K PC focuses on what matters most: performance, solid, responsive controls and light weight. There’s no RGB, no rumble and no audio integration. For competitive gamers, those are really a distraction. One of the most critical aspects of any controller, at any price, is how it actually feels in the hands. Ergonomics and comfort are at least as important as specs. A controller needs to feel like an unconscious extension of both your body and your brain. This is a complex equation that includes hand size, muscle memory and more. It’s impossible to make a device that’s perfectly comfortable for everyone. After using the controller for many hours, I’m impressed by the Pro 8K PC’s weight and overall responsiveness. The bumpers, triggers and sticks all felt great and didn’t need much of any calibration. This is entirely a me-thing, but I wish the paddles/back mouse buttons were removable, as they are on the much heavier Xbox Elite controller, for example. There are situations where they come in handy for sure, but in general I feel like they subtly alter my grip and get in the way of otherwise perfect comfort. You Get What You Pay For At around $200US, the Wolverine V3 Pro 8K PC is a smart investment in your success if competitive gaming is what you do. For all gamers, the controller offers light weight coupled with solid construction that feels high-end, and performance that is absolutely top-of-the-leaderboard. If you don’t use a claw grip or don’t need paddles, you’re paying a premium price for features you might never use, and you’re giving up a few fun extras like RGB. But for serious Esports and competitive casual gamers, the Wolverine V3 Pro 8K PC will definitely help you add another W to your record. ***Wolverine V3 Pro 8K PC provided for review*** The Good Very light Excellent specs and features Feels solid and well made Responsive controls 94 The Bad Best for the Esports and competitive crowd Back paddles are not removable Expensive Read More

ASTROBOTANICA Surpasses 50k Wishlists, Demo Set for Steam Next Fest This Fall

Welcome to ASTROBOTANICA Space Goblin Studio has announced that their upcoming science-driven survival game, ASTROBOTANICA, has surpassed 50,000 wishlists on Steam. The milestone comes ahead of the game’s first public demo, which will be available during Steam Next Fest from October 13 to 20. This marks the first time players outside of the original Kickstarter community will be able to try the game, following the closed Alpha in June for 1,500 early backers. Funded through a successful Kickstarter campaign that raised £46,836, the game has grown with direct support from the survival gaming community. Over the summer, the development team focused on refining the experience based on player feedback, aiming to deliver a smoother, more immersive version for the upcoming demo. The studio has also confirmed full Steam Deck compatibility, making it possible to explore the game’s alien worlds on the go. ASTROBOTANICA blends classic survival mechanics with an emphasis on scientific discovery. Players take on the role of Xel, an extraterrestrial explorer who must manage vital resources while navigating the mysteries of Prehistoric Earth. Instead of focusing solely on endurance, the game encourages curiosity, rewarding those who investigate their surroundings, conduct experiments, solve puzzles, and work alongside the Primal Humans they encounter. The result is a survival adventure with a distinctive focus, blending exploration, research, and cooperation in a richly detailed world. With its mix of science, strategy, and narrative, ASTROBOTANICA aims to offer a different kind of challenge, one where understanding the environment can be as valuable as surviving it. The public demo in October will give players their first real taste of this vision, setting the stage for the game’s journey toward full release. SOURCE Read More

Media Circus Officially Revealed by Papercoda Games

Become the Editor in Media Circus Papercoda Games, a women-led indie studio dedicated to creating impactful experiences, has announced its latest project, Media Circus. This narrative strategy title puts players in the role of editor-in-chief, launching and running their own newspaper in a satirical animal world where survival in the ruthless news business is anything but guaranteed. The game has already drawn significant attention, winning the Best Spiel Award at the Indie Game Fest 2025 through audience votes. It will also feature at the Games for Democracy stall in the Indie Arena Booth during Gamescom 2025. Early demos have been showcased at events such as A MAZE. / Berlin 2025, DoKomi 2025, and Reboot Develop Blue 2025, where players praised its freedom to publish anything, its temptation to sell their soul, and the ability to do propaganda. Media Circus draws from the designer’s own background in journalism and reflects her growing disillusionment with the industry’s decline. “We made this game because we want to remind everyone what’s at stake when the Fourth Estate falters,” said the team at Papercoda, “But we also want to do it in a way that’s engaging, thought-provoking, and — above all — fun.” In Media Circus, your mission is clear: control the story, control the world. Players assign reporters, plan headlines, manage advertising, and balance the competing demands of profit and influence. Every faction is eager to claim space on the front page, forcing tough decisions that can make or break both the paper and its editor. Whether you prioritize integrity, profit, or pure chaos, the choice and the consequences are yours. With sharp satire and strategic depth, Media Circus promises to offer a playful yet pointed look at the forces shaping public opinion. SOURCE Read More
