DxS joins the band’s existing lineup of four subunits —BSS (featuring DK, Hoshi, and Seungkwan), JxW (Jeonghan and Wonwoo), HxW (Hoshi and Woozi), and CxM (S.Coups and Mingyu). The announcement arrives via a trailer titled “An Ordinary Love,” released recently on HYBE Labels’ official YouTube channel, offering a first taste of the duo’s cinematic storytelling. The trailer opens with DK staring at a phone he can’t hang up, a frozen beat of longing that hangs in the air like a held breath. The scene then cuts to his apartment. Around him, wilted potted plants and a bowl of dried-out fruit sit in muted, desaturated tones, their gray‑washed leaves mirroring a love that’s slowly losing its spark. His everyday routine feels like a loop of endless, cloudy days, until an unexpected someone (without revealing her face) appears and snaps the scene into motion, hinting that the two lovers are about to drift onto separate tracks. The visual vibe is a warm yet melancholy mix of vintage Nineties and the nostalgia it brings: flip phones, grainy film stock, and a cozy comic‑book café. Every frame is drenched in soft, slightly desaturated colors, with a delicate color grade that gives the whole thing a short-film-like feel. Seungkwan enters the scene behind the counter at a little comic‑book café, and when a customer pulls out a pile of books, his eyes light up like he’s just seen an old flame. A quick, wistful smile slides across his face, and he’s instantly back in that warm, fuzzy memory. Then, in a split second, he fumbles, misses one of the books off the pile, and rushes to hand it over, a tiny reminder of missed chances and those fleeting connections. The cover of that book flashes “Blue,” adding a sense of melancholy and also a hint of mystery to the sequence. On the other side, DK’s finger ring (possibly a wedding ring) glints in the low light, a subtle nod to a love that once felt forever, while the “Blue” comic acts as a symbolic key to the album’s heart. Together, their stories — DK’s static boredom and emotional distance, Seungkwan’s wistful recollections — weave an anthology of ordinary love: the encounters, the separations, the quiet moments, and the new beginnings. The trailer, titled “An Ordinary Love,” captures all that in a cinematic, almost poetic way, setting the stage for Serenade. According to a press release, Serenade, meaning “a love song sung at night,” captures every little moment between meeting and parting through DK and Seungkwan’s raw storytelling. Photo: Priya Panchwadkar Pune-based singer-songwriter Karshni’s latest song “Malapropism” sees the artist offer a visual pathway into physical and emotional contortion, employing the Japanese rope bondage artform Shibari. The unsettling singer-songwriter-meets-chaotic-electronic track—produced by Karshni as well as Bengaluru-based artist Disco Puppet—is part of her upcoming album Buck Wild, slated to release in January 2026. Karshni explains in a press release that the unsettling but unfettered song gets its title from an unreleased essay she’s written called Take You To The Candy Shop. It reads: “Spanning the expanse that is the English language are words and phrases that can be prioritised within morality. Somehow, when the meaning of one word was forgotten, and another was remembered, the malapropism appeared to be the speaker himself. The malapropism thrust itself in places where it was unwelcome, making every other sentence that surrounded it, uncomfortable. It was a glaring error, a phallic oddity. It was incorrect.” Karshni teamed up with filmmaker Armaan Mishra in Bengaluru as well as Shibari artist Amiya Bhanushali for the black and white music video that sees her in physical contortion, suspended mid-air in ropework as she sings, “I’m actually 25/But you don’t deserve the grace of age/You don’t deserve any grace/And you’re too damn old to change/So stay the way you’ll stay/And go about your f***ing day.” The video is directed and edited by Karshni. She says in a statement about Shibari, “The movements experienced by the body of a woman for the first time reflect a tension and apprehension but also the certainty of reclaiming power […] The visual approach creates an uneasy but intentional contrast to the song’s exploration of consent violations and linguistic minimisation, using voluntary restraint to reclaim bodily agency in a narrative otherwise shaped by its erosion.” “Malapropism” follows Karshni’s single “Gaping Hole” from November, the first single off Buck Wild. In the former video directed by filmmaker Priya Panchwadkar, there are some visual cues to “Malapropism,” even if subtle. She says about the album, “Buck Wild has been a conviction of softness, but it’s also just ravenous in its expression. Songwriting can travel way beyond just mellow, soft fluff. It can be malleable to translate in different sounds and forms and I’ve tried to experiment and work with that in this album.” Ahead of the album release, the artist will also perform in New Delhi on Dec. 20, 2025, as part of music company Boxout.fm’s year-end special at Method, alongside producer Goya aka Abhishek Sekhri and DJ Ser Coc aka Eshaan George. SOPA Images/LightRocket/Getty Images YouTube, one of the biggest music streaming platforms in the world, will no longer submit data to Billboard for its U.S. music charts starting early next year.  Lyor Cohen, YouTube’s Global Head of Music, announced the decision in a statement shared Wednesday, Dec. 17. In the post, he called Billboard’s chart formula “outdated” and claimed it “undervalued” the “massive fan engagement on YouTube.” YouTube said it will no longer submit its data after Jan. 16, 2026.  As Cohen explained, YouTube’s main gripe with the Billboard charts is the way it “weights subscription-supported streams higher than ad-supported” streams. Cohen said this “doesn’t reflect how fans engage with music today and ignores the massive engagement from fans who don’t have a subscription.”  A spokesperson for Billboard said in a statement, “There are so many ways a fan can support an artist they love. Each has a specific place in the music ecosystem. Billboard strives to measure that activity appropriately; balanced by various factors including consumer access, revenue analysis, data validation, and industry guidance. It is our hope that YouTube reconsiders and joins Billboard in recognizing the reach and popularity of artists on all music platforms and in celebrating their achievements though the power of fans and how they interact with the music that they love.” YouTube’s decision came one day after Billboard announced changes of its own to its chart methodology, which did shrink the discrepancy between subscription and free streams. Under the old methodology, the ratio between paid streams and free streams was 1:3; so, for the Billboard 200 Albums chart, one album “unit” was equal to 1,250 subscription streams, and 3,750 ad-supported streams. The new ratio, which Billboard said was based on “analysis of streaming revenue,” was shrunk to 1:2.5 Billboard’s new methodology is set to go into effect with charts dated Jan. 17 (which will cover data from Jan. 2 through 8). the 1:2.5 ratio will be effective for the Billboard 200, the Billboard Hot 100, and genre album charts, and streaming and song consumption charts.  But for YouTube, Billboard’s ratio change was far from enough. Cohen argued that every stream, whether paid or ad-supported, should be “counted fairly and equally… because every fan matters and every play should count.” Cohen also noted that YouTube would continue to track “what music is making waves” on the platform with its own set of charts.  YouTube data has been incorporated into Billboard charts for over a decade. As Music Business Worldwide notes, data from the platform was first included on the Billboard Hot 100 in February 2013. The move marks a major development in the entertainment business, which has been shaken by streaming giants like YouTube and Netflix in recent years. For decades, ABC hosted the prestigious awards show through its telecast. After the 2028 broadcast, YouTube will bring the Oscars to a “global audience,” according to a blog post about the news. Along with the Oscars ceremony, other elements including the red carpet coverage, behind-the-scenes content, and Governors Ball access are part of a deal the streaming platform inked with The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences, which runs through 2033. In a statement, YouTube CEO Neal Mohan said, “Partnering with The Academy will inspire a new generation of creativity and film lovers while staying true to the Oscars’ storied legacy.” The Oscars will mark its enduring legacy, which emphasizes theatrical releases even as the industry continues to move toward releasing movies on streaming platforms, with a celebration of its centennial year in 2028. After the two musicians shared an embrace, Thug can be heard asking, “What you say, baby?” and Mariah responded with, “Put it on!” After the show, the newly-engaged couple showed off the massive rock and posed for pictures backstage. Young Thug and Mariah the Scientist have been in an on-and-off relationship since 2021. They remained together during Young Thug’s two-year imprisonment as he faced the YSL RICO criminal trial. Entertainment Legendary playback singer Kumar Sanu has approached the Bombay High Court seeking Rs 30 lakhs in damages from his ex-wife Rita Bhattacharya over allegedly defamatory interviews that resurfaced recently. The court heard the petition on December 17, with Sanu also demanding removal of the content accusing him of mistreating her during pregnancy, including starving her, locking her in the kitchen, and denying medical care. Kumar Sanu seeks Rs 30 lakhs damages in defamation case against ex-wife Rita Bhattacharya The suit, filed by advocate Sana Raees Khan, argues that Bhattacharya’s statements breach their 2001 divorce consent terms from Bandra Family Court, which prohibited mutual accusations post-separation. The interviews went viral on social media in September 2025, causing reputational harm and mental distress after legal notices were issued to Bhattacharya and platforms like Meta and YouTube demanding content takedown. Sanu and Bhattacharya married in the late 1980s, had three children—Jiko, Jassi, and Jaan—before divorcing. Sanu, famed for 1990s hits in Aashiqui, Dil Hai Ke Manta Nahin, and Saajan, previously had a publicized affair with actress Kunickaa Sadanand, a Bigg Boss 19 contestant. The project aims to present its subject matter with an objective lens, focusing on historical truths that have not previously been explored on screen. Abhijeet Mohan Warang made his directorial debut with the Marathi film Picasso in 2021, which earned a Special Mention at the 67th National Film Awards. His body of work includes films such as Deja Vu, Prem Pratha Dhumshan, Piccolo, and the short film Virtual Reality, spanning both Marathi and Hindi cinema.
