In his post, Memon criticised Dhurandhar, alleging that it portrays Lyari in a negative light. “Indian movie Dhurandhar is yet another example of negative propaganda by the Indian film industry against Pakistan, especially targeting Lyari. Lyari is not violence—it is culture, peace, talent, and resilience,” he wrote. Announcing the film’s release next month, he added that Mera Lyari will aim to show “the true face of Lyari: peace, prosperity, and pride.” The response has added a new dimension to the conversation surrounding Dhurandhar, which draws from true incidents linked to criminal networks in Lyari while framing its narrative around cross-border terror operations. While the film has been lauded in India for its scale, performances and storytelling, its subject matter has also sparked debate given the sensitive geopolitical context it touches upon. The clip quickly drew backlash from netizens, many of whom pointed out the importance of road safety and the responsibility public figures carry when it comes to following traffic rules. Filmmaker Priyadarshan is now set to reunite with Tripathi for a new project, marking their first collaboration in over 15 years. In the yet-untitled film, however, the actor will be seen in a completely different space — as a lovable, comic character. Describing the tone of the project, Priyadarshan revealed that the film will be a broad, situational comedy in the vein of his earlier hits. “It will be an all-out comedy like Hungama (2003) or Hera Pheri (2000), with Pankaj as the pivotal character. He is one of the finest actors we have today and it will be a pleasure working with him again,” he said. The film will also feature two other actors, whose casting will be finalised once the script is locked. “I am currently writing the story and once that is finalised, I will approach the other two actors,” he added. Rich Freeda/WWE via Getty Images John Cena fought in what he promised was his final WWE match Saturday, with the wrestler tapping out to end his illustrious career in the ring. Back in July 2024, Cena made the stunning announcement that he would retire from the WWE in 2025, with his appearance at WrestleMania in April his last time wrestling in that event. His retirement tour continued sporadically throughout this year, culminating in “The Last Time” he took the ring Saturday, for a match versus Gunther in the Saturday Night’s Main Event XLII in Washington, D.C. Cena’s wrestling career was celebrated in a celebrity-filled tribute video featuring the likes of Tom Brady, Peyton Manning, Jimmy Fallon, and Jelly Roll. “John Cena, the legendary, never seen 17 [championships]. Man, thank you for all these years,” Jelly Roll said in the video. “Thank you for the inspiration. Thank you for being the role model that we all needed. You deserve this, brother. Congratulations, happy retirement.” The farewell match itself ran for nearly 25 minutes, with the usual ebbs and flows of a WWE match, with Cena showcasing his repertoire one last time. However, the match ended — to the dismay of fans who were chanting “Don’t give up!” — with Cena losing by submission after Gunther put him in a sleeper hold.  After the match, Cena, “the Greatest of All Time” according to WWE, remained in the ring, soaking in the crowd’s chants of “Thank you Cena!.” “It’s been a pleasure serving you for all these years. Thank you,” Cena said as WWE wrestlers both current and retired gathered outside the ring. Two current WWE champions, Cody Rhodes and CM Punk, symbolically presented their belts to Cena before a tribute video was shown to the Capitol One Arena crowd.
