Google removes AI Videos featuring Disney characters

Entertainment Updated on :  13 Dec 2025, 3:39 pm Google is acting as per a cease-and-desist letter that it recently received from Disney, asking the former to stop what it alleged is an infringement in the search engine company’s AI systems. The letter claimed that the systems infringe on Google’s copyrights to a large extent. Accordingly, it has taken down numerous videos featuring Disney characters that are made with AI technology. Recently, Disney and OpenAI entered an agreement, allowing the latter’s AI video creator tool Sora to use characters from the former company’s Marvel, Pixar and Star Wars franchises. Google’s removal of the videos comes hot on the heels of the three-year-long agreement and pertains to the videos featuring Deadpool, Mickey Mouse, Moana and so forth. A Google representative stated, “We have a longstanding and mutually beneficial relationship with Disney, and will continue to engage with them. More generally, we use public data from the open web to build our AI and have built additional innovative copyright controls like Google-extended and Content ID for YouTube, which give sites and copyright holders control over their content.” Reportedly, Disney is aiming to bring some restrictions on the use of AI, while allowing creative industries to collaborate with innovators provided they respect creators’ work and the value that it brings. Rahul Dholakia remains hopeful of watching Panjab ’95 and Kennedy

Entertainment Updated on :  13 Dec 2025, 3:11 pm What does it mean to have a non-release of your film at a particular place? Ask Raees filmmaker Rahul Dholakia. Earlier today, Rahul took to X to share an emotional note reminiscing about the ban on the film, featuring Shah Rukh Khan and Mahira Khan, in Pakistan. Reportedly, the Government of Pakistan prevented its release in the country allegedly because of its portrayal of Muslim characters. Rahul drew people’s attention to the film’s ban in the country despite the presence of Mahira Khan, an actor from Pakistan. He also highlighted the ban on the Sanjay Dutt-Bipasha Basu starrer Lamhaa in the Middle East because of its Kashmir-related content. Another film, Rahul said, that was forcibly not released in the State of Gujarat is Parzania. The 2005 film did not release there reportedly due to distributors’ fear of backlash from the right-wing group against the film’s take on the Gujarat riots. Rahul Dholakia argued that when such fates happen to films, distributors and producers have to face the losses even as audiences watch them on whatever medium they are available in. The Raees director ended his note expressing his desire to watch Anurag Kashyap’s Kennedy and Honey Trehan’s Panjab ’95. While Kennedy has had its premiere at the Cannes Film Festival, and it has been available on Letterboxd’s latest video store over the last few days, audiences from India cannot access it on the streamer. The Anurag Kashyap directorial continues to face a delay in its India release reportedly due to financial constraints with ZEE Studios, the changing priorities of the streaming market and so forth. On the other hand, Panjab ’95, starring Diljit Dosanjh, has not yet hit theatres in India reportedly because of its makers’ reluctance to accept the exorbitant number of cuts suggested by the Censor Board, among other factors. The Diljit Dosanjh starrer is inspired by Jaswant Singh Khalra, a human rights activist from Punjab. Incidentally Pakistan also banned #Raees where their own star @TheMahiraKhan was so wonderful! And the Mid East had also banned #Lamhaa ! Which was on Kashmir ! #Parzania was also forced not to release in Gujarat – but then people watch it on DVD’s, Cable, Phones and these days… — rahul dholakia (@rahuldholakia) December 13, 2025 Read More

LaKeith Stanfield joins 48 Hours in Vegas in Jonathan Majors’ role

Entertainment 48 Hours in Vegas star LaKeith Stanfield (L), Jonathan Majors Updated on :  13 Dec 2025, 2:38 pm About two years ago, we reported about actor Jonathan Majors‘ axing and Lionsgate’s exit from a film based on basketball player Dennis Rodman, titled 48 Hours in Vegas. While Majors is still no longer part of the project, it has been revived at Lionsgate, with LaKeith Stanfield taking on the role of Rodman. The film is directed by Rick Famuyiwa from a screenplay he has written alongside Jordan VanDina. It is based on erstwhile Chicago Bulls forward Rodman’s Las Vegas trip amid the NBA Finals in 1998. Reportedly, Rodman disappeared during the final and went partying with his lover Carmen Electra, making Phil Jackson and Michael Jordan get him back into the team. Previously, Majors was axed from the project following his conviction in a misdemeanor assault and harassment case that his lover Grace Jabbari filed against him. While Jabbari and Majors settled the case eventually, the actor’s conviction still stands. Speaking about the project, Stanfield shared, “I’m genuinely excited to help create an exhilarating, joyful work that both honors and thoughtfully examines the legacy of Rodman and fellow trailblazers. Those who moved to the beat of their own drum, undeterred by the obstacles placed before them, then and now.” On the other hand, Lionsgate Motion Picture Group’s President Erin Westerman said, “LaKeith and the incredibly talented team on this film will bring the legend to life in this most extraordinarily unbelievable story.” Read More

Saali Mohabbat ending explained: Did Radhika Apte’s Smita commit double murder? What happens to Divyenndu’s Ratan Pandit?

Entertainment Home»News»Saali Mohabbat ending explained: Did Radhika Apte’s Smita commit double murder? What happens to Divyenndu’s Ratan Pandit?» In her directorial debut, Tisca Chopra’s Saali Mohabbat investigates the complex dynamics of home betrayal and quiet feminine wrath, revealing the deliberate revenge of Radhika Apte’s character Smita at the film’s climax. The film’s last, terrifying reveal is carried out using an intriguing two-tiered structure—a framing device in which ‘Kavita’ narrates a cautionary tale about ‘Smita’—in the film. At its core, the film narrates the story of a strong-willed woman who challenges the norms of a patriarchal culture. Entertainment Smita’s stifled life and financial strain Kavita, played by Apte, is an astute woman who seems to be completely out of place at a social gathering. The film opens with her difficult life in Fursatgarh, a fictionalised locale she subsequently uses in her story; her true identity is Smita. The stifling small-town existence that Smita and her husband Pankaj (Anshumaan Pushkar) endured was a result of her gold medal in botany. Pankaj squandered their money on gambling and frequently ridiculed Smita, who resisted his attempts to sell the ancestral property in Moradabad, which was her father’s final testament. Local gangster Gajendra Bhaiya (Anurag Kashyap) required the NOC for a real estate deal, and Pankaj owed him a substantial amount of money. The breaking point for Smita came when she discovered Pankaj was having an affair with her cousin, Shalini (Sauraseni Maitra), who had come to live with them. Double murder investigation In the middle of everything that happens, Pankaj and Shalini are killed. Smita is initially the top suspect in the double murder, despite her modest appearance. A crucial warning sets off Smita’s vengeance, which later reveals itself as a sophisticated and planned counter-scheme, rather than an impulsive act. Pankaj and Gajendra Bhaiya were probably planning to assassinate her in order to compel the sale of the land, according to her reliable gardener (Sharat Saxena), who was her father figure. This danger prompted Smita to take action. Start of Smita’s calculated plot Smita’s scheme involved isolating Pankaj and Shalini by preventing them from communicating through their respective phones. She also created a false alibi by slipping poison into Shalini’s lunch to ensure she would come home early; after that, she asked Shalini to cover for her at a neighbour’s party, thereby establishing her alibi. When Gajendra’s men showed up, they killed Shalini because they thought she was Smita. Inspector Ratan Pandit’s suspicion Pankaj arrived to find Shalini dead and suffered an asthmatic attack. Instead of offering assistance, Smita grabbed his inhaler, allowed him to suffer, and then fatally stabbed him. After that, she went back to her neighbour’s house to work on her alibi. This meticulously planned plot showcases her ability to use her knowledge of plants in covert ways and her metamorphosis from helpless victim to strategic survivor. The corrupt police inspector in charge of the investigation, Inspector Ratan Pandit (Divyenndu), once had an illicit attraction to Shalini and close ties to Gajendra Bhaiya. After Smita’s complex alibi was exposed as a falsehood, Ratan immediately began to distrust her. He realised that Smita had briefly left the neighbor’s house, killed Pankaj, and then returned undetected. Kavita’s narration After receiving a substantial quantity of money from Gajendra to dispose of the property, Ratan presented Smita with his evidence, which included call records, inconsistencies in her clothing, and her cell location. Smita and her gardener devised a desperate plan to eliminate the individual who could potentially expose her. She applied a highly concentrated, toxic floral extract around the margins of the property documents that she was required to sign. Unaware of the trap he had fallen into, Ratan paralysed himself by salivating with his fingers as he turned the pages. Assuming he was dead, Smita and her gardener dumped his corpse into a river. Nevertheless, the film’s epilogue reveals Ratan as being alive, albeit in a crippled but conscious state, and hospitalises him. His coworker, who happens to be Diya’s brother, knows all about Smita’s history, which could lead to a sequel in which Ratan gets even. The meeting of the two times is the ending’s most important component. In front of the same group of women who had previously passed judgement on Smita, Kavita (Apte) recounts her tragic history during Diya’s party. Cycle of revenge The grand finale unequivocally demonstrates that Kavita is indeed Smita, who successfully escaped the double murder, sold her property, and adopted a new identity after meeting her current husband, Vicky, on a train to Delhi. The story is a terrifying passive-aggressive warning for Vicky, whom Kavita saw at the party having an intimate moment with another woman. The reappearance of her gardener with the same toxic flowers proves that Smita’s deadly cycle of revenge-based self-preservation is a persistent danger. The final message is dark – for Smita, justice was found only in her own hands, securing her freedom and independence at a lethal cost. Saali Mohabbat is now streaming on ZEE5 (OTTplay Premium). Saali Mohabbat FAQs: Q: Is Saali Mohabbat based on a true story? A: Yes. Saali Mohabbat is reportedly inspired by the real-life Geeta Colony double murder case in Delhi. However, the film adapts the incident into a fictional narrative centered around a housewife, Smita, in the small, quiet town of Fursatgarh. Q: Who are the main cast members of Saali Mohabbat? A: The main cast includes Radhika Apte as Smita (and Kavita), Divyenndu Sharma as Inspector Ratan Pandit, Anshumaan Pushkar as Pankaj (Smita’s husband), Sauraseni Maitra as Shalini (Smita’s cousin), and Anurag Kashyap as Gajendra Bhaiya (the local gangster). R. Madhavan breaks silence on Dhurandhar backlash: “Don’t take a jibe at the industry like an outsider”

Entertainment Madhavan has spoken candidly about the reactions surrounding his recently released film Dhurandhar, co-starring Ranveer Singh, directed by Aditya Dhar. In an interaction with Esquire India, Madhavan shared his thoughts on the film’s journey, the criticism it faced, and the resilience of the industry. R. Madhavan breaks silence on Dhurandhar backlash: “Don’t take a jibe at the industry like an outsider” “When I heard Dhurandhar and saw the immaculate research that had been done by Aditya Dhar, the fearlessness of the man, the uniqueness of his storytelling—these were the signs I got before the release of my film. I knew that this was going to impact society. There will be people who will first give it very bad ratings, and then there will be people who will suddenly go and wonder, ‘Wow, this happened’,” Madhavan said. The actor didn’t shy away from addressing the negativity that surfaced even before the film hit theatres. “You are free to express your opinion, but even before the film was released, obituaries had been written, and on its release, you posted a review calling it a disaster. One wonders if there is an agenda,” he remarked. Madhavan further emphasized the emotional toll such criticism can take on those within the industry. “But as actors, we thrive on this situation. Please don’t forget, irrespective of whatever your opinions and agendas are, we are a very lonely family, and it is our job, no matter how much you like or hate a product or a person. Don’t take a jibe at the industry like an outsider. We have enough of them already,” he added. Dhurandhar, released on December 5, 2025, is the first installment of a two-part series. Written, directed, and co-produced by Aditya Dhar under the banners of Jio Studios and B62 Studios, the film boasts an ensemble cast featuring Ranveer Singh, Akshaye Khanna, R. Madhavan, Arjun Rampal, Sanjay Dutt, Sara Arjun, and Rakesh Bedi, among others. Drawing inspiration from real-life geopolitical tensions and covert R&AW operations, the film has been performing well at the box office and is being hailed for its gripping narrative and high-octane action sequences. With Madhavan’s powerful words echoing the challenges and camaraderie of Bollywood, the film continues to spark conversations—both for its cinematic ambition and the discourse it has ignited.
