The title of the Maria Raja Elanchezian directorial was unveiled on Saturday. In the new poster, GV Prakash’s character is seen enjoying the ruckus at a wedding with a cool drink in his hand. It could be understood that the lead character either takes delight in the suffering of others or stays happy in the face of calamity. Actor Abbas is making his comeback in the Tamil film industry after a long sabbatical with this film. Sri Gouri Priya plays the female lead, and the other cast members include George Maryan, Prarthna, Adhirchi Arun, Madurai Muthu, Sofa Boy Rasool and others. Kalamkaval, which was Jithin K Jose’s directorial debut, was released on December 5. In the statement Mammootty thanked the audiences for the film’s success. The actor mentioned that their gratitude was for all the new and old artists who worked in front of the camera and behind the scenes of the film. Though Vinayakan mentioned that he was speechless, he also revealed that he was happy. Mammootty ended the video by saying both of them will have a lot to say in their upcoming projects. Earlier Mammootty posted a photo from the film on Instagram, and captioned it with a few lines of gratitude. “Last 2 days have been nothing short of overwhelming. I am truly blown away by the love Kalamkaval has been receiving since its release. Thank you for your trust in my choices.” Kalamkaval is centred around a series of murders committed in the areas surrounding the border of Kerala and Tamil Nadu. Lokesh Kanagaraj directed Coolie on was released on August 15, on the 50th anniversary of Rajinikanth’s time in Indian cinema. Coolie occupies the third position of the most searched films of 2025, preceded by Saiyaara and Kantara: Chapter 1. Also among the list are Game Changer and Mahavatar Narasimha, in the eighth and tenth position. Coolie also starred Nagarjuna, Soubin Shahir, Shruti Haasan, Upendra, Sathyaraj, and Rachita Ram, among others. The film followed the story of a former port labourer, whose past returns to haunt him. Devi Sri Prasad is composing music for the upcoming film. Singer-composer Vishal Dadlani is singing the first single, which will feature lyrics by Bhaskarbatla. This is Devi Sri Prasad’s latest venture in composing for a film led by Pawan Kalyan after Attarintiki Daredi (2013). The film was announced three years ago as a remake of the Vijay-starrer Theri. But the film underwent several changes in its script. Sreeleela, Raashii Khanna, and Partheipan are also part of the Ustaad Bhagat Singh‘s cast. The crew of the film also includes Ayananka Bose as the cinematographer, Ujjwal Kulkarni as the editor, and Anand Sai as the production designer.
