SCOOP: Delivery of Dhurandhar’s IMAX prints delayed; IMAX properties might play non-IMAX version of Ranveer Singh-starrer on release day

Entertainment One of the biggest films of the year, Dhurandhar, is all set to release in cinemas tomorrow, December 5, and the excitement is tremendous. The film will also be released in IMAX, a move appreciated by cinephiles, as the trailer makes clear it’s a film mounted on a large scale and fit for as big a screen as possible. However, if you are planning to watch the film at an IMAX cinema on Friday, you might have to make do with a non-IMAX version, according to exhibition sources. SCOOP: Delivery of Dhurandhar’s IMAX prints delayed; IMAX properties might play non-IMAX version of Ranveer Singh-starrer on release day A source told Bollywood Hungama, “There has been a delay in the delivery of IMAX content of Dhurandhar. The makers of the team are trying their best, but it seems like on Friday, the content won’t reach the IMAX theatres.” The source further said, “Hence, theatres have been informed to play the non-IMAX version of Dhurandhar in the IMAX properties on Friday. However, the team is racing against time to ensure this doesn’t happen. As a result, there is a chance that the IMAX presentation will begin playing in cinemas from Friday evening though there are high chances that the content will be made available only on Saturday. A clearer picture will emerge by Thursday night.” Dhurandhar stars Ranveer Singh in the lead along with Sanjay Dutt, Akshaye Khanna, R Madhavan, Arjun Rampal and Sara Arjun. It is backed by Jio Studios and B62 Studios, produced by Jyoti Deshpande and Lokesh Dhar and written, produced and directed by Aditya Dhar of Uri: The Surgical Strike (2019) fame. Bollywood Hungama earlier exclusively informed the readers that 2000 fans would assemble at the grand trailer launch of Dhurandhar at the iconic Nita Mukesh Ambani Cultural Centre in Mumbai. We were also the first ones to break the news that Dhurandhar is a two-part saga and that it has a run time of more than 3 hours and 30 minutes. The censor certificate has confirmed that the final duration of Dhurandhar is 214 minutes, that is, 3 hours and 34 minutes. REVEALED: Dhurandhar’s first half is 2 hours and 4 minutes long; overseas delivery delayed; first day early shows might be affected in Australia, New Zealand, Fiji

Entertainment A day is left for the release of Dhurandhar and Bollywood Hungama has learned that the makers are in a race against time to deliver the content in cinemas. REVEALED: Dhurandhar’s first half is 2 hours and 4 minutes long; overseas delivery delayed; first day early shows might be affected in Australia, New Zealand, Fiji A trade source told Bollywood Hungama, “This usually happens with South films and it’s rare to see what’s happening with Dhurandhar. The content delivery has got delayed and has not been delivered in overseas territories. This has caused distress among the distributors releasing the film in foreign shores.” The trade source continued, “All eyes are on Australia, New Zealand and Fiji. As per the time zone, these territories will play Dhurandhar first. But due to non delivery of content, it is expected that the few shows of the film in these countries will be cancelled. The team is making sure that at least the shows on Friday evening and night play as per the schedule. Also, the team is also trying its best to supply the content in other foreign territories like the United Kingdom, Middle East, North America etc.” 2 hour long first half Meanwhile, exhibition insiders have shared an interesting information with Bollywood Hungama, “The first half of the film is more than 2 hours long, clocking a run time of 2 hours and 4 minutes. The second half is comparatively shorter, as it has a duration of 1 hours and 28 minutes.” No IMAX on Friday Earlier in the day, Bollywood Hungama reported that in India, the IMAX version of Dhurandhar will not be played on Friday. The IMAX properties will play the non-IMAX version, again, due to non delivery of content on time. However, a source said, “The makers of the team are trying their best, but it seems like on Friday, the content won’t reach the IMAX theatres.” Also Read: Will excessive violence and ‘A’ rating affect Dhurandhar’s prospects? SCOOP: Did Sunny Kaushal replace Saif Ali Khan in Ramesh Taurani’s daughter Sneha Taurani’s film last minute?

Entertainment In a surprising turn of events, Saif Ali Khan has reportedly walked out of filmmaker Sneha Taurani’s upcoming project, just days before the film’s shoot was scheduled to begin. SCOOP: Did Sunny Kaushal replace Saif Ali Khan in Ramesh Taurani’s daughter Sneha Taurani’s film last minute? The actor, who had officially committed to the project and even attended its mahurat ceremony on October 27, 2025, has now opted out, leaving the makers and producers scrambling for a replacement. A source close to the development revealed, “He didn’t feel it was the right film for him to do,” though the decision came much later than expected, creating last-minute challenges for the team. The film was being produced by Ramesh Taurani, one of Bollywood’s most established producers, who has earlier collaborated with Saif on blockbusters like Race, Race 2, and BhootPolice (2021). He even did Kya Kehna produced by Ramesh Taurani in 2000, the two go back a long way. Reportedly, Ramesh Taurani wasted no time and has now cast Sunny Kaushal in the role originally meant for Saif. Kaushal reunites with director Sneha Taurani after their 2020 film Bhangra Paa Le. Industry insiders say Taurani is “deeply upset” with Saif’s last-minute withdrawal and is unlikely to work with the actor again, casting doubt over Saif’s participation in Race 4 and Bhoot Police 2. At a time when the industry is grappling with mounting losses, actors backing out of confirmed projects has become a worrying trend, putting additional strain on producers and release schedules. Bollywood Hungama reached out to Saif Ali Khan and Ramesh Taurani at the time of publishing, but both did not comment. EXCLUSIVE: Viineet Kumar Siingh, Saurabh Shukla join Manoj Bajpayee, Rajkummar Rao for Shoojit Sircar’s MYTHO-HUMOUR film

Entertainment Shoojit Sircar has carved a niche for himself with his films like Vicky Donor (2012), Piku (2015), October (2024), Sardar Udham (2021) and the recently released flick, I Want To Talk (2024). Bollywood Hungama has now learned some exciting information about his next film, which is going to be the first-ever mytho-humour entertainer. EXCLUSIVE: Viineet Kumar Siingh, Saurabh Shukla join Manoj Bajpayee, Rajkummar Rao for Shoojit Sircar’s MYTHO-HUMOUR film A source told Bollywood Hungama, “It marks Shoojit Sircar’s much-awaited return to humour. The acclaimed filmmaker, known for bringing warmth, wit and sharp observation to films such as Vicky Donor and Piku, is now stepping into an entirely new space with his first-ever Mytho Humour entertainer.” In industry circles, the project has begun to make noise, for all the right reasons. The source said, “A massive, elaborate set is being constructed by Sardar Udham’s National Award-winning production designer, Mansi Dhruv Mehta. Inspired by a key chapter from the Mahabharat, the world being built blends mythology with a contemporary and satirical lens.” Adding to the excitement is the stellar ensemble. The source said, “It is known that Manoj Bajpayee and Rajkummar Rao are a part of the film. The team of the movie have now welcomed Saurabh Shukla and Viineet Kumar Siingh to the cast. Both actors, celebrated for their versatility and their command over humour and drama, are expected to bring a fresh dynamic to this inventive retelling.” Produced by Rising Sun Films and Kino Works and backed by Ronnie Lahiri and Sheel Kumar, the film is in full scale pre-production with the set construction currently underway. The project is slated to go on floors in early 2026. With its unique mytho-humour flavour, an ambitious Mahabharat-inspired set, and a cast led by Manoj Bajpayee, Rajkummar Rao, Saurabh Shukla and Viineet Kumar Singh, Shoojit Sircar’s next is already being keenly watched by trade and cinephiles alike. If all goes as planned, this inventive entertainer could well mark not just the filmmaker’s refreshing return to humour, but also open the doors for a new, sharply written genre that blends mythology, satire and emotion for today’s audiences. Siddhanth Kapoor questioned for five hours in Rs 252-crores drug case; likely to be summoned again

Entertainment Bollywood actor Siddhanth Kapoor was questioned for nearly five hours on Tuesday by the Anti-Narcotics Cell (ANC) of the Mumbai Crime Branch in connection with a high-profile Rs 252 crores drug case. Kapoor appeared at the ANC Ghatkopar Unit around 1 pm and was interrogated extensively before leaving the premises at 6 pm. During the session, police recorded a detailed 10–12-page statement from the actor. Siddhanth Kapoor questioned for five hours in Rs 252-crores drug case; likely to be summoned again Despite the lengthy questioning, officials from the Mumbai Crime Branch said Kapoor’s statement remains incomplete, and he is expected to be summoned again for further interrogation as part of the ongoing narcotics investigation. Sources suggest Siddhanth Kapoor may have attended a party in India where drugs were reportedly consumed, prompting investigators to seek more clarity on the matter. In addition to Kapoor, the ANC has issued a second summons to social media influencer Orry, who had skipped his initial appearance. Orry’s legal representative informed the police that the influencer would not be available to attend questioning until after November 25. The probe into the Rs 252 crores mephedrone drug bust continues, with authorities pursuing all leads. Spotify Survived 2025 Despite Boycotts and its Big Bet on AI

Entertainment Artists protested, AI flooded the ecosystem, and users bristled at the changes. Spotify made it through 2025 anyway, maintaining its status as a music streaming giant It’s Spotify Wrapped week, that time of the year when everyone gets on social media pretending to be shocked by their top artists and songs. 2025’s Wrapped landed with Listening Archive, a new feature that tracks a user’s daily habits and turns them into narrative-style reports powered by generative artificial intelligence (AI). Spotify has been threading AI through its products for years, but 2025 was the year that the technology made its way to the core of the streaming platform and the music industry as a whole. The company’s first major step into AI personalization came in 2023 with AI DJ, a synthetic host that curated and commented on listening sessions. In April 2024, Spotify released the beta feature AI Playlists, which lets users generate playlists from text prompts. Initially only available in the United Kingdom and Australia, the feature was rolled out to 40 other markets, including the Philippines, in April this year. In 2025, AI-generated music left the fringes of the internet. The Guardian reported in November that three AI-generated songs had made it to the Spotify charts amid the platform’s supposed crackdown on AI songs. Earlier, in September, Spotify announced that it had removed 75 million “spammy” tracks, calling the purge part of a broader effort to protect both artists and listeners from deceptive content. The issue isn’t limited to Spotify. In November, music streaming platform Deezer reported that 50,000 fully AI-generated songs were being uploaded to its platform every day. Deezer is currently the only major platform tagging music as AI-generated, while Spotify says it is working on developing AI disclosures in song credits. Entertainment An Industry Issue Paramore is signed to Atlantic Records, a label under Warner Music Group. Photo from Paramore/Instagram The influx of AI songs isn’t possible without tools to generate them with, and this year saw the rise of AI music generator tools like Suno and Udio. In June 2024, Warner Music Group, Sony Music Entertainment, and Universal Music Group (UMG) jointly sued the developers of both platforms for alleged copyright infringement. The complaint argued that Suno and Udio trained their systems on massive volumes of copyrighted recordings and were now producing music that would “directly compete with, cheapen, and ultimately drown out the genuine sound recordings on which [Suno and Udio] were built.” However, confrontation took a turn this November when Suno reached a $500-million settlement with Warner and entered a licensing agreement that allows users to pay to download AI-generated tracks built from Warner’s catalog, which includes music by artists such as Coldplay, Charli XCX, and Paramore. Warner has already dropped out of the lawsuit, but litigation by UMG and Sony is ongoing, Pitchfork reports. Between the licensing agreements and the lawsuit, generative AI has shown itself to be more than a passing experiment in the music industry, and something labels, platform developers, and artists must continue to navigate or contend with in the next few years. While no detailed statistics on Filipino Spotify users are publicly available, a Spotify Philippines report from 2024 illustrates the scale of the platform’s cultural reach: Pinoy music streams have quadrupled globally over the past five years, with global daily streams of Filipino tracks increasing dramatically over the same period. As AI tools such as Suno and Udio continue to flood charts with synthetic tracks, Filipino audiences could find local artists competing not just with global hits but with AI-generated music. Entertainment The Boycott Australian rock band King Gizzard & The Wizard Lizard is among other artists to ask their labels to pull their music out of the streaming giant in protest of its CEO’s investment in AI weapons. Photo from King Gizzard/Instagram Beyond the flood of synthetic tracks on streaming platforms, scrutiny landed on the Spotify CEO himself, Daniel Ek. In June, news broke that Ek’s venture capital firm Prima Materia invested in the German defense tech startup Helsing, which Ek also chairs. CNBC reports that Ek and Prima Materia led a €600-million funding round for the AI weapons firm. Instagram watchdog Zionists in Music asserts that one of Helsing’s investors, Swedish weapons manufacturer Saab, has provided radar systems to the Israel Defense Forces (IDF), but no publicly available information substantiates this claim. Musicians who were already uneasy about AI music began to speak out. King Gizzard & the Lizard Wizard, Deerhoof, and Xiu Xiu are among other artists who publicly requested that their labels remove their music from Spotify, citing discomfort with the idea that fan subscriptions could indirectly support technologies used in warfare. Helsing has said its systems are deployed only in Europe for defense against Russian aggression, but for many artists, the optics mattered as much as the facts. The boycott hasn’t visibly dented Spotify’s user numbers yet, with over 696 million users worldwide and 276 million paying for premium features. For Filipino listeners, however, the impact is harder to gauge, due to the lack of available data on the platform’s Filipino users. Spotify has cultivated a decade-long presence in the country, shaping how local audiences discover and engage with music. While Deezer’s AI tags and Apple Music’s playlist import tool may appeal to users dissatisfied with Spotify elsewhere, the latter feature is not yet available in the Philippines, limiting practical alternatives for local listeners. Still, based on the sheer volume of people posting about their Spotify Wrapped this week, the controversies haven’t slowed the platform’s cultural footprint. For better or for worse, Spotify is here to stay. From Rolling Stone Philippines. Read More

Your Guide to the Must-See Acts at Nagaland’s Hornbill, ImagiStage and Kohima Ridge Live

Entertainment From New Delhi metallers Joint Family to Girish and The Chronicles, Chennai rock favorites The F16s and Nagaland mainstay act Polar Lights, it’s a packed week for live music in Nagaland’s Kisama and Kohima Girsh Pradhan on stage at Mahindra Independence Rock 2023 in Mumbai. Photo: Courtesy of Mahindra Independence Rock Every December, Hornbill Music Festival takes over Kohima and the nearby city of Kisama with music from around the world. Over the years, the Nagaland state government-backed cultural festival has upped its game with more international acts as well. Now, there are more festivals like ImagiStage and Kohima Ridge Live taking place in the same timeframe as Hornbill (Dec. 1 to 10 each year), filling Kohima and Kisama with more performances than ever, and, of course, leaving audiences spoiled for choice. If you’re unsure where to begin, consider this your cheat sheet to the must-see acts in Nagaland this week. Joint Family, If Hope Dies, The F16s, and more at ImagiStage New Delhi metallers Joint Family, joined by ace throat-shredder Shashank Bhatnagar (part of metal band Inner Sanctum) will perform live at ImagiStage on Dec. 5 at Imagi.Land, Kisama Heritage Village. They’re joined by the Sukhna metal band If Hope Dies. While you can expect a mosh pit-primed set from Joint Family comprising songs from their seminal 2007 album Hotbox, If Hope Dies will perform new material, including the recently released single “Whirlwind.” The fourth edition of ImagiStage, by event management company Imagi.Nation, also features Chennai indie rock band The F16s returning to Nagaland on Dec. 6. The band, who recently performed in New Delhi at Outrage Festival, are currently prepping their next album and will be sharing the day’s lineup with Shillong instrumental rock trio Murder In Space, best known for their dreamy, math-rock and post-rock inspired songs. Girish and The Chronicles, Juxtaposed and more at Hornbill Music Festival The Hornbill Music Festival remains the biggest draw in Nagaland this week, primarily because they bring in artists from around the world as well as independent bands. On Dec. 7 at Unity Plaza, Naga Heritage Village in Kisama, Sikkim-origin (and now globally-known) hard rock/heavy metal band Girish And The Chronicles take over the stage at the festival, alongside singer-songwriters such as KL Pamei and Temsu Clover and a rare gig by Kolkata-origin funk rock band Gingerfeet. The next day, the funk continues with Bengaluru band Juxtaposed — first runners-up of the Ticket To Hornbill band competition — performing on Dec. 8 with Nagaland-based bands Noisy Neighbours and Hope Academy. Dossers Urge, Lojal, Polar Lights and more at Kohima Ridge Live At the newly inaugurated Kohima Ridge Eco Park—which has been built as a peace memorial for those who died fighting in the Battle of Kohima between Japan and British Indian forces in World War II—music takes over as part of the multi-day festival Kohima Ridge Live. Running from Dec. 4 to Dec. 7, 2025, the likes of experimentalist Lojal, Shillong indie trio Dossers Urge, singer-songwriters like Pelenuo and Jonathan Angami perform on Dec. 5, while Shillong rapper Iamlitaf! performs on Dec. 6, and the final day includes an arena-ready performance by Nagaland’s own Polar Lights. Diljit Dosanjh Says He ‘Studied Chamkila Like a Student’ in New Documentary

Entertainment The global Punjabi superstar opened up about the behind-the-scenes of the film post its nomination at the 53rd International Emmys. Amar Singh Chamkila. (L to R) Parineeti Chopra as Amarjot Kaur, Diljit Dosanjh as Amar Singh Chamkila in Amar Singh Chamkila. Cr. Courtesy of Netflix © 2024 In a candid, confessional-style documentary, global superstar Diljit Dosanjh shared his personal experiences playing the role of Amar Singh Chamkila in the eponymous film. The Imtiaz Ali directorial, which was scored by A.R Rahman, was nominated for two categories at the 53rd International Emmys: “Best TV Movie/Mini-Series Category” and “Best Performance by an Actor.”   The fifteen-minute bilingual video, produced by Netflix, highlights lesser-known trivia, including how the film’s climax was shot at the very spot where the artist was killed, while also exploring Dosanjh’s soulful connection with the late folk singer. Calm and composed, the Punjabi singer, songwriter, and actor patiently emphasized the cultural gravitas of having a film like Amar Singh Chamkila gain such widespread global recognition. “I have not come for Diljit Dosanjh’s validation. I’ve come here only for Chamkila,” he humbly stated.  Dissecting the biopic’s trailer launch, Dosanjh mentioned how he’d never seen the final cut himself. Already high-strung, the artist explained how it wasn’t the director’s praise or audience reception, but a screen grab from the clip that moved him. Expanding on this surreal experience, Dosanjh tearfully described how the standalone scene, which had Chamkila’s character turning to the camera and smiling, made him feel seen by the late folk singer himself.  To him, Chamkila was always an omnipresent force in his life, even before his days of fame. Speaking about his own journey of struggling to combine both village and city dialects, Dosanjh mentioned how immersing himself in the late singer’s works, right from the cadence to the free-flowing enunciation, helped him find his own, authentic voice along the way. “I studied Chamkila like a student.” Pointing out their sonic similarities, Dosanjh brought to light how they were both united by an undying love for their respective crafts, stating, “Chamkila was a hundred times better artist than I am. The only similarity is that he loved art, and I love art.” Not one to be deterred by the fear of pressure and Punjabi audience reception, Dosanjh said he strives to stay away from the patterns, preconceived notions, and stereotypes slapped upon by the industry. “I don’t care about my image, I don’t care about anybody. I love music and art,” he calmly added.  Nearing the end, Dosanjh reiterated the influence of films like Chamkila in spotlighting cultural musical icons to the global mainstage. “When we made the film, we did not make it for an Emmy; we made it for Chamkila. A folk artist from a village, Dugri Village, is being discussed at the Emmys today. Parting on an equally sentimental note, Dosanjh added: “It felt like a personal story.”  Read More
