Neha Sharma questioned by ED in online betting money-laundering probe

Entertainment Actor Neha Sharma was questioned by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) on Tuesday as part of its ongoing investigation into suspected money laundering linked to an online betting application. The agency had issued a summons to Sharma, who is also the daughter of Congress leader Ajit Sharma, seeking details regarding her association with the platform. Neha Sharma questioned by ED in online betting money-laundering probe According to officials cited by the PTI, Sharma’s statement is being recorded under the provisions of the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA). Investigators are reportedly examining her involvement through promotional activities connected to the app. The actor has not made any public comment regarding the development. Sharma, known for her roles in Yamla Pagla Deewana 2 (2013), Solo (2017), and Tanhaji (2020), has also worked in the digital space with the series Illegal. She has appeared in short films, including Kriti and Vikalp, playing central characters in both. Her appearance comes amid a wider scrutiny of celebrities linked to the betting platform. In recent months, the ED has questioned several public figures, including Sonu Sood, Vijay Deverakonda, Prakash Raj, Urvashi Rautela, Shikhar Dhawan, Yuvraj Singh, and Rana Daggubati. Actor Prakash Raj, summoned in July, addressed the media about the inquiry: “As a citizen of this country, the officers had called on the money laundering of the betting apps, and I have come. It was something that I did in 2016, and later, on moral grounds, I did not pursue it. I gave them information that I have not received any money because I did not want to take money from that. They have taken all the details and we finished the enquiry, and that’s it.” Similarly, Vijay Deverakonda, questioned in August, clarified, “I was summoned because my name came up in connection with a betting app case. In India, there are two different categories – betting apps and gaming apps. I clearly explained that I promoted a gaming app called A23. There is no connection between betting apps and gaming apps. Gaming apps are legal in several states. They are registered, have GST, taxes, and necessary approvals.” Also Read : Red Fort Blast: Celebrities flood social media with heartfelt condolences BOLLYWOOD NEWS – LIVE UPDATES Catch us for latest Bollywood News, New Bollywood Movies update, Box office collection, New Movies Release , Bollywood News Hindi, Entertainment News, Bollywood Live News Today & Upcoming Movies 2025 and stay updated with latest hindi movies only on Bollywood Hungama. Apne 2 cancelled after Dharmendra’s demise confirms Anil Sharma: “Without Dharamji, it’s impossible to make the sequel”

Entertainment The news of Dharmendra’s death has not only left a deep void for his fans, but it has also brought an abrupt end to one of Bollywood’s most nostalgic projects. Director Anil Sharma has confirmed that Apne 2 a film meant to unite three generations of the Deol family will now never be made. Apne 2 cancelled after Dharmendra’s demise confirms Anil Sharma: “Without Dharamji, it’s impossible to make the sequel” Dharmendra, 89, died on November 24 after battling prolonged illness. He had been discharged from Mumbai’s Breach Candy Hospital just days earlier and was being monitored at home when his condition worsened. Anil Sharma, who had been preparing to direct Apne 2, admitted that the film cannot go ahead now. Speaking to Hindustan Times, he said, “Apne to apno ke bina nahi ho sakti. Without Dharamji, it’s impossible to make the sequel. Everything was on track and the script was ready, but he left us. Some dreams remain unfulfilled. Without him, it’s not possible!” The sequel was planned as a continuation of the 2007 family drama Apne, with Dharmendra, Sunny Deol, Bobby Deol and Karan Deol leading the narrative. Despite being announced years ago, the film never began shooting. Sharma and Dharmendra shared a working relationship spanning multiple films, including Hukumat, Elaan-E-Jung, Farishtay, Tahalka, and Apne. Their reunion with Apne 2 was meant to be another emotional chapter in their partnership one that now remains unfinished. Dharmendra’s last film to release will now be Ikkis, directed by Sriram Raghavan and starring Agastya Nanda. The film arrives in cinemas on December 25, 2025, exactly a month after the actor’s passing. On Monday, the makers shared a tribute poster and wrote, “Fathers raise sons. Legends raise nations. Dharmendra ji, an emotional powerhouse as the father of a 21-year-old immortal soldier. One timeless legend brings us the story of another.” Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday condoled the veteran actor’s death, calling his passing “the end of an era in Indian cinema.” In a post on X, the Prime Minister described the legendary star as an iconic figure whose versatility and screen presence left a deep imprint on generations of filmgoers. He said Dharmendra brought “charm and depth” to every role, making him one of the most beloved actors in Indian film history. SCOOP: Ranbir Kapoor’s special request to Sanjay Leela Bhansali; release Love And War in June 2026

Entertainment Ranbir Kapoor is the biggest superstar of the modern generation, who has a line-up to dream of. After Animal, he has lined up Love And War with Sanjay Leela Bhansali, followed by Ramayana, Ramayana 2 and Animal Park. While Ramayana and its sequel are scheduled for Diwali 2026 and Diwali 2027 release, there looms a suspense over the date of Love And War. The film has seen multiple delays over the years in its shoot, but now Ranbir Kapoor has decided to take things seriously. SCOOP: Ranbir Kapoor’s special request to Sanjay Leela Bhansali; release Love And War in June 2026 Reliable sources have confirmed that Ranbir Kapoor has advised SLB and his team to finish Love And War by March 2026. “He wants to ensure that there’s atleast 4 months gap between Love And War and Ramayana. Since the date of Ramayana can’t move, RK has requested Sanjay Leela Bhansali to bring Love And War on the big screen, latest by June 2026,” a trade source told Bollywood Hungama. The trade source further informed us that Sanjay Leela Bhansali is very keen to release Love And War in the month of August on Independence Day. “But RK feels that there’s too little of a gap between Love and War and Ramayana. He is firm on his stance of releasing Love and War in June. Ranbir’s producer, Namit Malhotra too, is putting the pressure to ensure that SLB releases Love and War in June, as he doesn’t want the aftermath of Love And War to impact Ramayana in any way, given that the latter is a much bigger film.” SLB is expected to take a call on the release date soon, and make an official announcement. NCPA Jazz Festival 2025 Review: Mike Stern and Dennis Chambers Make It Explosive

Entertainment It was a diverse three days of jazz music and it would be fair to say there was something for every taste in jazz Brian Bromberg during the performance in NCPA International Jazz Festival 2025 at TATA Theatre, NCPA, Nariman Point, Mumbai on November, 23,2025. Photo by Narendra Dangiya “Jazz is not what is played, rather how it is played,” Charles Mingus once famously said. Going by this criterion, an exciting three-day jazz festival was held in Mumbai at the Tata Theatre, NCPA. It was a diverse three days of jazz music, and it would be fair to say there was something for every taste in jazz, from a classic acoustic quintet led by a traditional upright bass to an upbeat electric guitar-led band with a tireless drummer, and much more in between. This annual jazz festival at the NCPA, first held in 2011, is perhaps the longest-running event of its kind in India. This year, the festival opened with New York–based pianist and vocalist Peter Cincotti and his quartet, featuring Anthony Glausi on trumpet, Michael Olatuja on bass, and Charles Goold on drums. As the set unfolded, it seemed possible that Cincotti wasn’t entirely sure what might connect with an Indian audience — his performance felt deliberately simplified, leaning more towards pop-jazz. Photo by Narendra Dangiya/NCPA He played and sang “New York State of Mind,” a Billy Joel hit, and a few originals. A few jazz-based standards, such as “Sway” and “I Love Paris”, were interspersed with his version of Britney Spears’ “Toxic” and “I Hate to See the Sun Go Down.” Cincotti’s piano-playing was indicative of a deeper connection with jazz, in contrast to his choice and style of songs for the NCPA gig. His charming and personal storytelling created an easy rapport with the audience, keeping them fully engaged. Glausi on trumpet was a fine complement to Cincotti’s playing, and all in all, this set reached a fair-sized part of the audience. Day 2 was opened by the charming upright bass player-vocalist Nicki Parrott and her all-Australian quartet. They opened with “I Love Being Here With You,“ made popular by Peggy Lee, continued with the famous “Squatty Roo,” written by Johnny Hodges for the Duke Ellington band, a bossa nova number called “Mais Que Nada,” “Destination Moon” from the Dinah Washington song book and several standards. Photo by Narendra Dangiya Nicki Parrott was charm itself as she spoke a long sentence in Hindi, and got everyone listening with rapt attention as she told a story for every song she sang. Her bass playing was of a high standard. On an audience request, Parrott broke into “Fly Me to the Moon” without hesitation and later surprised one and all when she sang, in a remarkable jazz style, “Srivalli” from the movie Pushpa (which she sang in Telugu!) This was a happy set, but it was the second half of the evening that was explosive. Photo by Narendra Dangiya Mike Stern on guitar, Leni Stern on rhythm guitar, saxophonist Blaise Whitaker, bassist Naom Tanzer, and the 360-degree drummer Dennis Chambers played the second part of Saturday’s entertainment. The interaction between the dexterity of Mike Stern’s playing and the all-encompassing rhythm of Dennis Chambers was quite magical and stretched across the 90-minute set. The saxophone of Blaise Whitaker added a dimension to the otherwise intense artistry of Mike Stern. A number of local musicians, including some well-known guitarists, were in the audience; the skills of Mike Stern, even at the age of 70 plus, were very impressive indeed. For us, the high point of the festival was on the final day when Brian Bromberg’s Quintet played a set of acoustic jazz of the finest calibre. Starting as a trio, the band played “Nardis,” a Miles Davis composition. Broomberg’s bass dominated this rendition. Very few bass players lead their bands. Charles Mingus is one who comes to mind, as well as Ray Brown, who led a trio; both Mingus and Brown played acoustic bass. The sound of the bass was ideal for the acoustically perfect Tata Theatre, and Bromberg played it masterfully. Photo by Narendra Dangiya The band performed mostly in a quintet format, with Lin Rountree on trumpet and Doug Webb on tenor saxophone joining pianist Tom Zink, drummer Charles Ruggiero and bandleader Brian Bromberg. While the muted trumpet and saxophone had some pleasing solos, it was the acoustic trio that made the most impact on jazz connoisseurs in the audience. “Chameleon,” “Cold Duck Time,” and “What is this Thing Called Love” stood out from the performance of this band as the festival came to a close. Photo by Narendra Dangiya We have seen that the following for jazz has been growing each year since the NCPA launched its jazz initiative, which has consistently sought to bring the best in the genre to Mumbai. Given the steady rise in audiences and enthusiasm, it seems increasingly clear that the growth of jazz in the city is no mere coincidence. Read More

Lamar has five songs in the Top 25, the most of any artist on the chart, including his May 2024 Drake diss “Not Like Us.” Meanwhile, SZA has three in the Top 25, the second-most of any artist. Michaela Coel Guides Anne Hathaway Through a Pop Star Séance in ‘Mother Mary’ Trailer

Entertainment The David Lowery film featuring original music from Charli XCX, FKA Twigs, and Jack Antonoff will arrive in theaters next spring Anne Hathaway in David Lowery’s Mother Mary A24 At the end of the trailer for David Lowery’s Mother Mary, Michaela Coel‘s scorned character, Sam Anselm, acknowledges the stakes of her rekindled partnership with Mother Mary, the tormented pop star played by Anne Hathaway. “There may only be one of us left standing when this is over,” she says. They both know it to be true. The A24 film follows Sam and Mother Mary as they tear open barely-healed wounds of betrayal. The pair were once best friends before pop stardom drove a wedge between them. Sam can’t even listen to her music anymore. But when Mother Mary needs a costume for her grand comeback concert, she doesn’t know who else to ask. In the preview, Sam obliges — but not without guiding her old friend through a séance first. “You think there’s something inside of you?” she asks. “Let’s cast her out.” In theaters next spring, Mother Mary also stars Hunter Schafer, Atheena Frizzell, Kaia Gerber, Jessica Brown Findlay, Alba Baptista, Isaura Barbé-Brown, Sian Clifford, and FKA Twigs. The pop star backdrop of the film will be bolstered by original music from Charli XCX, Jack Antonoff, and Twigs. The original synopsis of the film doesn’t reveal much of the oddities about the film that the trailer suggests it will hold. “Long-buried wounds rise to the surface when iconic pop star Mother Mary reunites with her estranged best friend and former costume designer Sam Anselm on the eve of her comeback performance,” it reads. The tagline for Mother Mary declares: “This is not a ghost story. This is not a love story.” Mother Mary follows Lowery’s most recent films, 2023’s Peter Pan & Wendy and 2021’s The Green Knight. For Hathaway, it’s one of many releases slated for the new year. The actress will also appear in The Devil Wears Prada 2, The Odyssey, Flowervale Street, and Verity. From Rolling Stone US. Read More
