The makers have kept the details of this project under wraps, but we have been able to find information about this upcoming venture. SCOOP: Kartik Aaryan’s third film with Karan Johar is an action entertainer directed by Sandeep Modi A source told Bollywood Hungama, “The film in question will be directed by Sandeep Modi, who has made a mark with acclaimed shows like Aarya and The Night Manager. He, Kartik Aaryan and Karan Johar were all set to make a war film. However, that movie didn’t materialise for various reasons. Kartik and Sandeep had formed a bond and promised to work together in the future when the right script comes along.” This war drama was announced on Kartik Aaryan’s birthday in November 2023. It was scheduled to go on floors in 2024 and release on August 15, 2025. The source continued, “Finally, earlier this year, Sandeep Modi pitched an idea of an entertaining film to Kartik Aaryan and Karan Johar. Both were quite impressed by the subject and decided to come on board as actor and producer, respectively.” Though not much is known about this film, the source said that it’s not a battle saga that Sandeep was earlier supposed to make or even a reimagined version of it. The source said, “It’s a new script and has a lot of action. It promises to present Kartik Aaryan in a new avatar. Also, it would be different from the rest of the other two films that he’s doing with Karan Johar’s Dharma Productions.”  Tu Meri Main Tera Main Tera Tu Meri, co-starring Ananya Panday, is a romcom, which is all set to release on December 25. It is directed by Sameer Vidwans of Satyaprem Ki Katha (2023) fame. As for Naagzilla, it is a fantasy comedy which features Kartik as a shape-shifting naag. Directed by Fukrey director Mrighdeep Singh Lamba, the film releases in cinemas on Independence Day 2026. The film stars Sandeep Pradeep, Biana Momin, Vineeth, Narain, Ashokan, Binu Pappu, and Saurabh Sachdeva, among others. It tells the story of a search for a mysterious character named Kuriachan (Saurabh). Host Johnhy Lukose asked Kamal about the branding of his recent films as a comeback vehicle for him, especially in reference to Thug Life, and about the speculation on his retirement from acting before it. Addressing whether it is right to brand his films thus and whether the excitement for such films would be limited to the old generation and whether today’s youngsters would prefer “a new combination” instead, Kamal said, “It is important to have the new.” He went on to add, pointing at the audience, “If you must retire the old, they would do it.” The actor also said that nobody has asked him whether he would like to retire, but he feels like it “while doing bad films”. He continued, “Then, my friends would say, “Do not stop acting with this. Do a good film and quit. I am still pursuing one such film.” Thug Life, which reunited the actor with his Nayakan (1987) director Mani Ratnam, did not do perform well at the box office. The film earned around 97 crore from theatres worldwide, according to Sacnilk data. This means that it failed to gross as much money as its production cost, which is reportedly between 200 and 300 crore. Thug Life released after Indian 2, which also failed at the box office. Chaithra recently joined the sets of the film. “The filming has begun on a very interesting note,” she tells us from the location. Chaithra believes that Fauzi came at an important juncture of her acting career, and a project of this magnitude is a novel experience. “Being part of Fauzi is important on a couple of levels,” she says. “I get to work in a big film, and working with Prabhas itself is a great learning experience. I want to understand how huge productions function, the rhythm of the set, the craft, and the attention to detail that goes into making a film of this scale. I am excited about the role because it is key to the story. Big or small does not matter to me. Where does this courage to constantly ‘break his image’ come from? “It’s not about courage; it is about the desire as an actor. Every artiste would want to do characters like that. I don’t want to ignore the actor in me. He needs to be in a proper place and needs to be fed,” said Mammootty, in a special conversation about his next release, Kalamkaval.
