After Criticism, Ticketmaster Caps Olivia Dean Resale Ticket Prices and Refunds Fans

Entertainment “We echo Olivia’s call to ‘Do Better’ and have taken steps to lead by example,” said Live Nation’s CEO Olivia Dean performs onstage during the 2025 ARIA Awards Brendon Thorne/Getty Images In response to singer Olivia Dean’s criticism that Ticketmaster had allowed “vile” resale prices for her The Art of Loving tour set to begin next year, the company has announced that is capping future resale rates with no added fees for Dean’s trek and “refunding fans for any markup they already paid to resellers on Ticketmaster.” Dean’s criticisms came on Nov. 21, when she wrote on her Instagram story, “[Ticketmaster], [Live Nation], [AEG]: You are providing a disgusting service. The prices at which you’re allowing tickets to be re-sold is vile and completely against our wishes. Live music should be affordable and accessible, and we need to find a new way of making that possible. BE BETTER.”  She followed that post with another, writing that her team is looking into the “extremely frustrating” issue with ticket pricing. Ticketmaster’s announcement that they would heed Dean’s call arrived on Nov. 26 in a post on their website titled “Ticketmaster Supports Olivia Dean’s Commitment to Fair Ticket Pricing and Takes Action to Cap Resale for ‘The Art of Loving Live’ Tour on Its Site.”  “We share Olivia’s desire to keep live music accessible and ensure fans have the best access to affordable tickets,” said Michael Rapino, CEO of Live Nation Entertainment said in the post. “While we can’t require other marketplaces to honor artists’ resale preferences, we echo Olivia’s call to ‘Do Better’ and have taken steps to lead by example. We hope efforts like this help fans afford another show they’ve been considering—or discover someone new.” The post also detailed Ticketmaster’s analysis of The Art of Loving resale prevalence and how the refund process would work for those who were upsold. “After reviewing all sales, less than 20% of primary tickets were listed for resale—showing that Olivia’s demand was driven by genuine fans who intend to go to the show rather than resellers out for profit,” it said. “In early December, fans who purchased resale tickets on Ticketmaster will receive partial refunds reflecting the difference between the original tour price and the higher price charged by the reseller. Ticketmaster does not receive the markup on those tickets but is stepping in to absorb this refund cost for fans. Refunds will be processed by December 10 and may take a few additional days to post, depending on individual banks.” Dean’s North American tour is due to begin in San Francisco in July and finish in Austin in August. GST movie review: The fun side of the afterlife

Entertainment Published on :  28 Nov 2025, 5:09 pm Film: GST(3 / 5) GST Movie Review: Titles can be misleading. GST wears that mischief on its sleeve. It is not about taxes, systems, bills or the country’s favourite alphabet soup. It is about ghosts. Not the horror variety, but the emotional remains of people who left with stories half-spoken and wounds half-stitched. And walking into their silence is Lucky (Srujan Lokesh), a man who believes he is a mistake wrapped in skin. When your most honest friends turn out to be dead people, the film quietly asks what that says about the living. Srujan Lokesh’s directorial debut arrives with the comfort of a known face. Television made him a household name with the reality show, Majaa Talkies, and it shaped his timing, his comedy and the easy charm families lean towards every weekend. Anyone who has watched him closely knows he can slip into seriousness, too. In GST, he blends humour and gravity with natural ease. Cast: Srujan Lokesh, Rajani Bharadwaj, Girija Lokesh, Shobraj, Ravishankar Gowda, Tabla Nani, Sharath Lohitashwa, Girish Shivanna, Aravind Rau, Vinod Gobbragala, Nivedita Gowda, and Sukruth Srujan Lokesh, Director: Srujan Lokesh Lucky is convinced that fate has singled him out for failure. His father (Ashok), tired and defeated, asks him to leave after the family loses his wife and Lucky’s mother (Vinaya Prasad). The moment is not cruel. It is a portrait of helplessness. Lucky spirals into despair and finds himself in a burial ground after a failed attempt to end his life. This is where the film truly begins, in a space where endings slowly turn into beginnings. The ghosts he meets are not gag machines. They carry ordinary fractures from everyday life. Shanthamma (Girija Lokesh) avoids speaking about her son, an auto driver, because some wounds do not heal even after death. Prabhakar (Tabla Nani) and his son (Sukruth) carry the weight of an accident that society moved past without thought. Hanumanthu (Vinod Gobbagaragala) became another forgotten name during the pandemic. Tanya (Niveditha Gowda) grew up under relatives who value control more than care. Ramesh (Aravind Rau) is a reminder of dreams cut short by greed. None of these stories scream for attention. They are quiet bruises that shape middle-class lives. Srujan does not sentimentalise them. He presents them with restraint, giving the audience space to recognise truths they have seen in their own circles. Lucky and his friend (Girish Shivanna) are the only living people who can see these spirits. They form an understanding. The ghosts piece together Lucky’s broken confidence, keep him steady and help him to express his gentle affection for Nidhi (Rajani Bharadwaj). In return, Lucky tries to help them close the chapters they left incomplete. Their plan to solve their problems is wildly filmi, a little absurd and oddly fitting for the world GST builds. It involves a bank and a very particular type of money. The less said, the better, because the delight lies in how the film uses this idea to flip its tone. Just when things seem manageable, real chaos walks in. Lucky and his group enter the bank. A gang led by Shobaraj arrives with confidence, followed by more trouble. The bank locks down. Lucky pretends to understand the situation while the ghosts create havoc that only he can sense. This stretch is GST at its liveliest. Sharp edits, strong reactions and clean comic beats combine with a brand of comedy Kannada cinema often forgets. Ravishankar Gowda as the confused bank manager, Shobaraj as the unpredictable burglar and Sharath Lohitashwa as the inspector turn the segment into playful chaos. As a director, Srujan stays focused and steady, sometimes casual enough to let the characters take the lead. As an actor, he avoids overplaying emotion and stays committed to the film’s tone. Rajani Bharadwaj fits the film’s gentle emotional pitch. The supporting cast from Girija Lokesh to Tabla Nani, Girish Shivanna, Vinod Gobbagaragala, Aravind Rau and debutant Sukruth perform with ease and blend into the film’s fabric without overreaching. Technically, the film remains committed to its mood. Cinematographer Gundlupet Suresh keeps the visuals colourful. Chandan Shetty’s music shifts between comic, serious and spectral without losing balance. The editing keeps the narrative tight and avoids unnecessary detours. GST is not a ghost story. It is a story about the living, told through the dead. In a world that rarely pauses to listen, it is strangely poetic that the only voices willing to sit with someone’s pain are the ones that have already crossed over. Read More

Flirt movie review: Ambitious, modern, and self-aware

Entertainment Published on :  28 Nov 2025, 5:01 pm Film: Flirt(3.5 / 5) Flirt Movie Review: Chandan Kumar’s debut, Flirt, might seem scandalous at the start. However, as the story unfolds, it becomes a deeper exploration of desire, friendship, and perception. The word ‘flirt’ often appears in headlines or gossip. Here, it takes on a richer meaning. It’s playful, charming, and complicated. The film starts in a courtroom where Krishna (Chandan Kumar) faces serious allegations. Veteran lawyer Sadhu Simha (Sadhu Kokila) takes him on as his last case. Manya (Akshitha Bopaiah) and her lawyer Sathya (Shruthi) present videos, photos, and chat logs that paint Krishna as a self-proclaimed flirt, who calls her his supposed 99th conquest. Yet the story avoids settling on a single truth. It invites viewers to look beyond labels. Cast: Chandan Kumar, Girish Shivanna, Nimika Ratnakar, Akshitha Boppaiah, Sadhu Kokila, Shruti, and Rangayana RAghu Director: Chandan Kumar Flirt examines how we see things. Krishna is not just one person, but many. One perspective shows him as a flashy gym trainer who thrives in Bengaluru’s nightlife. He flirts openly and pulls playful pranks. Another perspective shows him as a focused office worker saving for his brother’s house and as a sincere lover with Saniha (Nimika Ratnakar), who experiences heartbreak with quiet dignity. Through these varying perspectives, the film asks: Who is Krishna, and who gets to define him? If the film focused solely on romance, it might seem superficial. However, friendship quietly serves as the moral backbone. Krishna’s relationship with Bala (Girish Shivanna) is central, showcasing loyalty, honesty, and emotional responsibility. Bala challenges Krishna, reflects his contradictions, and grounds him amidst chaos. Chandan Kumar’s direction shines here, blending sensitivity and clarity in the writing, dialogue, and screenplay. Additionally, the way the debut director portrays his female leads is impressive. Flirt does not reduce Saniha or Manya to mere plot devices. Saniha is strong and complex, while Manya reflects the tone of modern relationships. Their independence, setting boundaries, expressing intentions, and navigating love in a contemporary city bring a fresh and socially aware dimension to the film. Bengaluru, its gyms, pubs, and apartments, becomes a character in its own right, highlighting freedom, dilemmas, and subtle power dynamics of city life. Structurally, the film thrives on surprises. Each testimony, flashback, and different account adds new layers to Krishna and Bala, keeping viewers guessing and shifting sympathies. Courtroom debates showcase wit and moments of absurdity, while humour relieves tension without undermining the stakes. The editing keeps the multiple timelines clear, though at times the film feels slightly stretched. Venu’s cinematography is stylish and precise, the production design is subtle yet effective, and Jassie Gift’s music flows smoothly, highlighted by Sudeep’s delicate tribute to friendship that resonates without overpowering the story. The performances anchor the film. Chandan Kumar convincingly portrays Krishna’s dual nature. Girish Shivanna confidently takes on a parallel lead role. Nimika Ratnakar is quietly impactful as Saniha, while Vinay Gowda and Akshitha Bopaiah add depth. Veteran actors Rangayana Raghu, Sadhu Kokila, Shruthi, and Avinash elevate the film effortlessly, balancing humour, tension, and seriousness. Flirt is ambitious, modern, and self-aware. It explores contemporary relationships, perception, and the interplay between friendship and desire. It is neither a conventional love story nor a scandal aimed at eliciting shock value. It reflects how we are perceived, how we act, and how trust and loyalty shape our choices. The film leaves you smiling at the commotion of human connections, appreciating its layers, and reminding you that life, much like Krishna, is always a little bit of a flirt. Read More

Zootopia 2 Movie Review: Farthest thing from Disney’s best and worst

Entertainment Published on :  28 Nov 2025, 3:35 pm Zootopia 2 Movie Review: Farthest thing from Disney’s best and worst(2.5 / 5) There was a time when Disney used to churn out “adventure-in-a-day” type sequels and send them off into the world as direct-to-DVD films. These safe bets are not part of the canon and revolved around an adventure that the main characters went on in between the main films. These are low-effort, low-risk, harmless comedies but inarguably of lower quality than the classics they were based on. Seems like the mighty mouse is bold enough to release them in theatres now. But, hey, at least it’s not a live-action remake…yet.  Director: Jared Bush, Byron HowardCast: Ginnifer Goodwin, Jason Bateman, Ke Huy Quan, Fortune Feimster, Andy Samberg Zootopia 2 is a harmless, fun, adventure comedy that keeps you entertained long enough to forget that Disney can do way better, and hits the theatres a decade after the original, so you don’t instantaneously spot the stark dip in quality. At this point in time, Disney’s animation studio is a well-oiled machine with a century’s worth of R&D and storytelling experience. They know the exact amount of curves needed in a character’s design to make it instantly likeable. They know the exact ratio of light needed to populate every pixel, so the colours pop. They know the exact millisecond at which the protagonist needs to realise the psychological transformation needed to move their character’s evolution and the story’s progression into the third act. Disney can make a competent film at the snap of a finger, and that seems to be exactly what they did in Zootopia 2. It takes a time-travelling caveman to be amazed by the consistency and precision of the 743rd entry in the assembly line of a desk lamp mass manufacturing plant. Of course, it lights up when you flip the switch on. If you just wanted to light up the room, then that lamp is enough. But there was a time when the light also carried warmth that stayed with you for decades. Following right after the events of the first film, we find Judy Hopps and Nick Wilde as partners in the Zootopia Police Department, trying to uncover a large conspiracy. There is no dearth of animal puns, meta jokes about Hollywood running out of original ideas, cute gags, and the return of fan favourites from the original film. There are also clever references to other films like Ratatouille, The Shining, and Mulholland Drive. The world of Zootopia is as expansive and imaginative as the first one, but we hardly get time to inhabit the space, and enjoy the ingenious designs (both from the visual and storytelling perspective). The film rushes past every story beat, every gag, and every character moment, as fast as possible, so you don’t feel anything other than the surface because they know that as soon as you start prodding, you will feel how vacant it is right beneath the surface. The biggest advantage of the film is that the surface is still shiny, and you don’t mind the rushed pace because your intuition tells you it is better to be on the surface anyway.  Zootopia 2 is simultaneously the farthest thing away from Disney’s worst and its best. It is a fun, lighthearted comedy that might not be your favourite film of the year, but it definitely pulls your mind away to a magical, whimsical, and entertaining world as long as it stays on the screen. It is a world you would love to revisit sometime, but the film itself, not so much. Read More
