Shafali Verma and Jemimah Rodrigues share candid stories of passion, perseverance, and women’s cricket on Two Much with Kajol and Twinkle

Entertainment World Cup champions Shafali Verma and Jemimah Rodrigues appeared on a special episode of Two Much with Kajol and Twinkle, sharing candid stories from their cricketing journeys. From childhood struggles to high-pressure matches and the thrill of winning, their conversation was a mix of fun, emotion, and inspiration, celebrating the rise of women’s cricket in India. Shafali Verma and Jemimah Rodrigues share candid stories of passion, perseverance, and women’s cricket on Two Much with Kajol and Twinkle Fresh off India’s historic World Cup win after 52 years, Jemimah reflected on the moment, saying, “It’s a dream, not just for us, but for every Indian. We are happy we could do it, and this World Cup is also for the generation before us who set the foundation so that we could play cricket today. So I think this is everyone’s cup.” She recounted the final wicket, saying, “When we took the last wicket and won, we all ran towards Harry Di, who took the final catch. It didn’t sink in. It still feels like a dream because we’ve imagined this our entire lives.” Jemimah also revealed that she nearly pursued hockey instead of cricket. “I played cricket before hockey. When we moved from Bhandup to Bandra, my uncle gave me a hockey stick and I started playing. I even got selected to play hockey for the state before cricket. But at that level, I had progressed further in cricket, so I chose it. Still, I dream of playing both for India.” Shafali shared the surprising way her cricket journey began. “My brother was supposed to play in a tournament, but he got sick. I said, ‘I can go instead.’ I even had boy-cut hair, and my brother’s face is similar to mine. I played wearing a jersey with ‘Sahil’ on the back, after him, and I ended up being ‘Player of the Series’ at 11 years old.” Reflecting on her early days, Jemimah said, “When I started at a cricket club, girls’ cricket wasn’t well known. I was the only girl in a group of 400 boys. Sometimes boys wouldn’t talk to me because of teasing, but having a bat or ball in hand gave me confidence. It helped me grow tougher and improve my game.” Shafali shared how the movie Dangal motivates her. “Whenever I’m feeling down, I watch Dangal. I’m from Haryana, and many things in the movie reflect my life. It pumps me up every time.” Jemimah also explained why she is called Team DJ. “I love feel-good Bollywood songs, and when we started playing for the state, I began listening to Bollywood music more. The team also bonds over music, which adds to our energy during matches. Punjabi songs are our go-to when we dance as a team.” Produced and conceptualized by Banijay Asia, the show is presented by Oppo and co-presented by Kohler, Kalyan Jewellers, and Fevi Kwik. The special episode of Two Much with Kajol and Twinkle is now streaming on Prime Video across more than 240 countries and territories. EXCLUSIVE: Ranveer Singh-starrer Dhurandhar Part 1 expected to be 3 hours 32 minutes long; will be Bollywood’s LONGEST film since Jodhaa Akbar

Entertainment Bollywood Hungama has been at the forefront in delivering breaking news about the much-awaited film, Dhurandhar. We were the first to announce that the Ranveer Singh-starrer is a two-part saga; this news created a stir in the industry. Prior to this newsbreak, we informed readers that Dhurandhar is expected to last 3 hours. Bollywood Hungama has now learned that the run time of the first part of Dhurandhar is longer than expected. EXCLUSIVE: Ranveer Singh-starrer Dhurandhar Part 1 expected to be 3 hours 32 minutes long; will be Bollywood’s LONGEST film since Jodhaa Akbar A source told Bollywood Hungama, “Dhurandhar Part 1’s length is said to be around 3 hours and 32 minutes. The final run time has been kept under wraps. But it’s expected to be close to 3 ½ hours long. The process of acquiring the censor certificate has begun. Once the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) passes the film in a few days from now, the exact run time will be known.” An insider told Bollywood Hungama, “Dhurandhar tells a vast story and hence the lengthy run time. Director Aditya Dhar is an expert storyteller. Look at Uri: The Surgical Strike (2019) or his productions like Article 370 (2024), Dhoom Dhaam (2025) and the recently-released Baramulla (2025). He always ensures that there’s a lot happening in his films and that the goings-on don’t feel stretched. Dhurandhar’s storytelling will be on the same lines. There would be so much happening that the audience would be gripped from start to finish.” If Dhurandhar indeed has a run time of 3 hours and 32 minutes, it’ll be Bollywood’s longest film since Jodhaa Akbar (2008). The Hrithik Roshan-Aishwarya Rai Bachchan starrer was 3 hours and 34 minutes long. In the last 25 years, there have been 24 Hindi films with a run time of more than 3 hours. Dhurandhar is the sixth longest Bollywood film since 2000 after LOC Kargil (2003; 4 hours and 7 minutes), Lagaan (2001; 3 hours and 44 minutes), Salaam-E-Ishq (2007; 3 hours and 36 minutes), Mohabbatein (2000; 3 hours and 35 minutes) and Jodhaa Akbar (2008; 3 hours and 34 minutes). The 3 hours plus Hindi films in the last 25 years (arranged in the order of their release): 1. Mohabbatein (2000) – 3 hours and 35 minutes 2. Lagaan (2001) – 3 hours and 44 minutes 3. Gadar – Ek Prem Katha (2001) – 3 hours and 6 minutes 4. Dil Chahta Hai (2001) – 3 hours and 4 minutes 5. Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham (2001) – 3 hours and 30 minutes 6. Devdas (2002) – 3 hours and 4 minutes 7. The Hero: Love Story Of A Spy (2003) – 3 hours and 3 minutes 8. LOC Kargil (2003) – 4 hours and 7 minutes 9. Lakshya (2004) – 3 hours and 5 minutes 10. Veer-Zaara (2004) – 3 hours and 12 minutes 11. Swades (2004) – 3 hours and 15 minutes 12. Ab Tumhare Hawale Watan Saathiyo (2004) – 3 hours and 6 minutes 13. Bose: The Forgotten Hero (2005) – 3 hours and 28 minutes 14. Kabhi Alvida Naa Kehna (2006) – 3 hours and 12 minutes 15. Salaam-E-Ishq (2007) – 3 hours and 36 minutes 16. Jodhaa Akbar (2008) – 3 hours and 34 minutes 17. Ghajini (2008) – 3 hours and 4 minutes 18. What’s Your Raashee? (2009) – 3 hours and 20 minutes 19. Bhaag Milkha Bhaag (2013) – 3 hours and 8 minutes 20. M S Dhoni – The Untold Story (2016) – 3 hours and 10 minutes 21. Animal (2023) – 3 hours and 23 minutes 22. Maidaan (2024) – 3 hours and 1 minute 23. The Bengal Files (2025) – 3 hours and 25 minutes 24. EXCLUSIVE: Sumit Arora talks about writing dialogues for 120 Bahadur: “Farhan Akhtar is very thorough professional, sharp, witty”; reacts to Shah Rukh Khan’s National Award win for Jawan: “He should have won long back…the National Award deserved him!”

Entertainment Sumit Arora has carved a niche for himself thanks to his solid writing in shows like The Family Man, Dahaad, Guns & Gulaabs and Citadel: Honey Bunny and in films like Stree (2018), ’83 (2021), Jawan (2023), Chandu Champion (2024) etc. November 21 was a significant day for him this year for he had 2 releases – the season 3 of The Family Man dropped on Amazon Prime Video while the Farhan Akhtar-starrer war drama 120 Bahadur arrived in cinemas. In an exclusive interview with Bollywood Hungama, Sumit Arora spoke about his dialogues in 120 Bahadur and a lot more. EXCLUSIVE: Sumit Arora talks about writing dialogues for 120 Bahadur: “Farhan Akhtar is very thorough professional, sharp, witty”; reacts to Shah Rukh Khan’s National Award win for Jawan: “He should have won long back…the National Award deserved him!” You had 2 releases in a single day. How was the experience and what did you do on November 21? I was at IFFI, Goa as we had screenings of The Family Man as well as 120 Bahadur. I was checking the reactions of both. The Family Man Season 3 was available digitally while 120 Bahadur had released in theatres. So, it was very interesting and also overwhelming to have two releases on two different mediums on the same day. The Family Man has been widely loved and hence, we knew that people have been waiting for it. We were curious as to how they receive the new season. Thankfully, they are finding a lot of joy in watching it. 120 Bahadur, meanwhile, is also a special film as it told an important chapter from history. The love for it is also pouring it and hence, the experience has been satisfying. You had mentioned to us before that you don’t believe in doing dialogue baazi for the sake of it. Did you apply the same idea in 120 Bahadur as well? Of course. I apply it in everything that I do (smiles). The film is based on a true story and even the characters were real. So, I had to stay rooted and have the punchiness in the dialogues wherever required. I had to ensure that the punchy dialogues needed to be mouthed for a reason. For example, when Farhan Akhtar tells his soldiers that he ‘Main peeche nahin hatunga’, the dialogue had to be emotionally charged and should express his feelings for the country. He brings up the fact that they are the sons of farmers. So, he says, ‘Zameen ke liye ladna tumhare khoon mein hai. Aur iss baar, baat zameen ki nahin, hamare sarzameen ki hai’. This line came up organically as he’s talking to soldiers who are sons of the soil who are now fighting for their motherland. So, we were not trying to create a punch for the heck of it. How was it working with Farhan Akhtar? I had worked on Dahaad before, which was produced by him. But this was the first time I interacted with him. He’s a very thorough professional, sharp and witty. He’s also well-respectful and accepting of ideas from everyone around him. So, it was a great experience. I had seen his directorial debut, Dil Chahta Hai (2001), before coming to Mumbai and loved it. Just to see his creative process from up close was very enriching. You went on the sets of Jawan for 100 days. Did you visit 120 Bahadur’s sets as well? Yes, I did go to Ladakh and I went twice. Was it challenging to shoot the film in a hostile terrain like Ladakh? Yes. To shoot at such an altitude is always a challenge. The unit members were always falling sick. I, too, fell sick in one of the trips. My condition was similar to Radio Operator Ramchander Yadav (played by Sparsh Walia) in the film as I suffered from altitude sickness. Thankfully, it didn’t last long, and I felt ill for a few hours only. I faced breathing issues because I forgot to take the tablet to acclimatize oneself. Hence, it’s very difficult to shoot there. Shah Rukh Khan recently won the National Award for Jawan. Did it feel like a personal achievement? More than a personal achievement, it felt like an achievement of a man you have always loved. I felt great that I could be a part of the film that got Shah Rukh sir the National Award. It was an award he should have won long back as he has done such remarkable work over a period of time. So, I feel it was the National Award that deserved him and not the other way round (smiles). What are your upcoming projects besides Border 2? Are you a part of Dahaad 2? Yes, Dahaad 2 is happening. And I am also working on Kabir Khan’s next film. There are also a couple of more projects which I’ll be able to talk about in the near future. ‘KPop Demon Hunters’ Earn Oscar Eligibility

Entertainment Kpop Demon Hunters is now among the 35 animated films vying for an Oscar, and the competition is heating up. A still from ‘KPop Demon Hunters.’ Photo: courtesy of Netflix. KPop Demon Hunters is on the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences’ list of 35 animated films eligible for the 98th Oscars. The Korean-American urban-fantasy musical, released on Netflix on June 20, 2025, didn’t just ride the wave of its huge viewership. It also passed the Academy’s exhibition hurdle with a limited run in New York, Los Angeles, and San Francisco that June, meeting the qualifying theatrical exhibition rule that lets a streaming-first picture onto the ballot. Directed by Maggie Kang and Chris Appelhans and produced by Sony Pictures Animation for Netflix, the film follows the K-pop girl group Huntr/x as they moonlight as demon hunters, battling the demonic boy‑band Saja Boys. The cast includes Korean‑American talent Arden Cho, Ahn Hyo‑seop, May Hong, Ji‑young Yoo, Yunjin Kim, Daniel Dae Kim, Ken Jeong, and veteran Korean actor Lee Byung‑hun, who lend their voices, while the score by Marcelo Zarvos backs a soundtrack that’s become a cultural juggernaut. “Golden,” one of the film’s original songs, is not only a chart‑topper but also a contender in the Best Original Song race, and the album broke the record for the most simultaneous top‑ten entries on the Billboard Hot 100 for any film soundtrack. The buzz isn’t just musical. Critics have called the movie “a cultural phenomenon,” praising its stunning animation—a blend of concert‑lighting flair, editorial‑photography aesthetics, anime vibes, and Korean‑drama storytelling—all rendered by Sony Pictures Animation. With 325 million global views, it became Netflix’s most-watched original animated title, and its sing-along theatrical version even topped the U.S. box office. Now that the Academy has selected KPop Demon Hunters among the 35 eligible titles—alongside the likes of Arco, The Bad Guys 2, Elio, Zootopia 2, and Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba Infinity Castle—the competition is heating up. The Animation Branch will vote from this pool to pick the final five nominees, with other Academy members able to vote if they meet the viewing requirement. Shortlists for other categories drop on Dec. 16, 2025, but the animated feature shortlist is this very list. Nominees will be announced on Jan. 22, 2026, and the 98th Academy Awards ceremony is scheduled for Mar. 15, 2026. If the film’s global frenzy, Grammy-nominated soundtrack, and gorgeous visuals are any indication, the Huntr/x might just be the next animated heroes to take home the Oscar. Read More

Rolling Loud India Popped Off, but Getting There Was its Own Festival

Entertainment The debut weekend delivered massive sets from Central Cee, Wiz Khalifa, Karan Aujla, NAV and more, even as long commutes, fights, non-functional WiFi and patchy planning shaped the experience Rolling Loud finally arrived in India and the buzz around it felt unreal. Even before stepping into Loud Park, you could feel that the country had been waiting for a festival like this — a proper, large-scale hip-hop experience with global headliners, Indian heavyweights, and a crowd that knew every single word. And on a performance level, Rolling Loud India absolutely delivered. I just wish the logistics kept up with the magic happening on stage. My weekend started with the kind of journey that belongs in a documentary. Gates opened at 2 p.m., we left Mumbai by 2.30, and the moment we crossed into Navi Mumbai, the traffic slowed to a crawl. At first, it felt like normal festival congestion — then it turned into a slow five-hour procession of cars barely moving while festival shuttles, locals, influencers, crew and artists all got gridlocked on the same stretch. People were stepping out of their cars, blasting music, dancing on the highway, trying to spot other festival-goers. Meanwhile, my photographer and I sat there watching updates roll in: Gurinder Gill wrapped, Robb Bank$ done, AR Paisley done, Arivu, Denzel Curry done. Every name stung a little more. By the time we reached Loud Park at 7 p.m., the sun was gone, our backs were aching, and half the festival was already over. But once we finally got inside, the atmosphere instantly shifted. The sound felt fuller, the crowd was already warmed up, and the whole place had that charged, slightly chaotic energy festivals are supposed to have. We walked in during the end of Swae Lee’s set, and he was everywhere at once — jumping from one end of the stage to the other, taking people’s phones to film quick clips, signing things mid-song, and keeping the crowd completely locked in. Even after the long commute, it was impossible not to wake up a little while watching him. This was also the point where the on-ground cracks became obvious — fights were breaking out in multiple pockets of the crowd, and it wasn’t just one or two. There were a lot. During Rich The Kid’s set, a group of people literally ripped the carpet off the ground for no reason anyone could understand. Civic sense just wasn’t there. At one point, security even broke a guy’s phone while he was just standing quietly. And because manpower was thin in the right areas, GA attendees kept jumping the barricade into VIP with zero resistance. To be fair, the festival isn’t to blame for people acting out like this — but the lack of controlled zones and adequate staff made these moments way more visible than they should’ve been. Another surprising miss was the public WiFi setup — it simply wasn’t working. For a festival of this scale, with huge crowds trying to upload stories, scan QR menus, locate friends or even pull up their tickets, having non-functional WiFi made basic movement and communication far more complicated than it needed to be. One thing that did feel out of place for a hip hop festival was the decision to keep Rolling Loud entirely smoke-free. I get that this may not have been the organisers’ call — permissions in India can get complicated — but it still felt strange. Hip hop fans like to smoke, especially when they’re drinking, moving around, and riding that adrenaline while watching their favorite artists. Pair that with the noticeably heavy police presence — far more cops roaming around the grounds than you’d ever expect at a festival — and it created an odd kind of tension. What made it even stranger was how many fights still broke out despite so many cops being around; they just weren’t in the right places when things actually went down. It wasn’t unsafe or restrictive, just… unusual for a show built around a culture where people usually want to let loose. Wiz Khalifa took the stage next, and his set shifted the mood again. He performed “See You Again” with this soft sincerity that made a few people near us tear up. Then he jumped into “Young, Wild & Free,” and suddenly the entire left side of the crowd had their arms around each other like they were at a college farewell. The real surprise was “The Thrill” with Empire of the Sun — that one sent a ripple through the grounds. It was nostalgic, unexpected, and honestly one of the warmest moments of the night. Central Cee closed Day 1, and his team very kindly gave Rolling Stone India full pit access for the entire show. From that distance, you see everything — the breath control, the precision, the confidence. Cench didn’t let the backing track do the work. He rapped every word cleanly, even the collaborator verses, and he didn’t waste a single second. He kept collecting jerseys, holding up flags from the Indian diaspora, filming videos on fans’ phones, and acknowledging every corner of the crowd. It didn’t feel like he was performing in India; it felt like he was performing with India. Easily one of the sharpest, tightest headline sets I’ve seen at an Indian festival. Backstage was a different story entirely. Interviews were shifting every few minutes, team members couldn’t find each other, nothing was synced, and the two stages were placed so far apart that it felt like a stadium-to-stadium commute. I ended up missing Hanumankind — someone I genuinely wanted to watch — because I was stuck in the middle of conflicting backstage timings. That’s the part I wish were smoother. A festival this big can’t run on guesswork. On Day 2, I refused to repeat the same mistake. I left early, arrived on time, and actually got to breathe. I finally caught Reble’s set, followed by Sambata, who packed the grounds harder than

‘Nutcracker On Ice’ Brings Christmas Cheer and Ice Skating to Mumbai

Entertainment The production run by Tony Mercer is poised to make its debut in Mumbai at the Grand Theatre at the NMACC from Dec. 4 to Dec. 14, 2025 ‘The Nutcracker on Ice’ with the Imperial Ice Stars live at Royal Albert Hall in December 2015. Photo: Courtesy of NMACC The concept of having a theatrical performance on ice skates is intriguing; the production of the famous story from the 1800s by E.T.A. Thompson had been made into a ballet production with the most beautiful music from Tchaikovsky, immortalising the tale from a long-ago Christmas. It is a wondrous story where a child’s toys come to life and enact a tale. The Nutcracker has been a classic on the dance (ballet) stage. In this Mumbai production of Nutcracker on Ice, the story unfolds theatrically on ice and is performed by highly skilled skaters at the Grand Theatre, Nita Mukesh Ambani Cultural Centre (NMACC). We wondered about the task of transporting such a large production to India, the problems with creating and maintaining an ice surface for the duration of the show and other logistics involved. To get some answers to these and to find out what Mumbai audiences should anticipate from the show, Rolling Stone India spoke with director and choreographer Tony Mercer whose troupe, the Imperial Ice Stars, are due to perform Nutcracker On Ice. Excerpts: Sunil Sampat, Rolling Stone India: Mr. Mercer, we are very pleased about your bringing this production to Mumbai. Tony Mercer: It is a privilege for us to be going to Mumbai and perform at the NMACC. We understand that your inspiration for having performances on ice came from your watching the winter Olympics at Sarajevo in 1984. How did this happen? Absolutely! I watched the incredible achievements of Jayne Torvill and Christopher Dean which got them the gold medal. I fell in love with the theatricality involved in their feat. I got excited with the idea of creating theatre on ice. That’s where this journey began. The Nutcracker on Ice. Photo: Courtesy of NMACC What were you doing prior to 1984? I was involved with theater in various roles. For example, I did the lighting for the stage shows of well-known musicians such as Jack Jones, Johnny Mathis, Kool & The Gang and others. I was constantly involved with one aspect or another of professional theater. The Nutcracker is a famous and popular ballet production. What is involved in translating it from the ballet format to the performance on ice? My idea is not to re-create ballet but rather to merge the story with ice skating skills. The great music, The Nutcracker Suite by Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky, is layered and lyrical and is my inspiration. My choreography is based on this. Actually, I visualize actions and moves for what I hear. And how do you merge these concepts? I create the choreography first and then bring in the theatre aspect. You must need some high-caliber skaters. How do you source them? I watch a lot of competitive skating. I have also come across some fine coaches. Ice dance is a genre of its own. For my production, I have to layer this with theatricality. When I find a skating champion, I advise them to forget about the medals they have won and think theater! How many performers do you have? I suppose there are also understudies. We have a cast of 50 to 60; of course, we have understudies. In fact, we need to rotate performers in our schedule. I must say, we have long-term skaters working with us. One has been working for the past 17 years and we also have one star who has been with us since we started in 2004. We have skaters of the highest caliber. We are wondering about the logistics of creating an ice surface wherever you perform. What does this involve, since stage sizes and shapes and ambient conditions must vary considerably? Yes, the variations are there and we have to work around them. We have performed in 31 countries and faced many challenges. In one place, the outside temperature was 48 degrees. Mumbai will be between 31 and 33 degrees. So we adjust. Our ice has to be maintained between -7 and -8 degrees C. We have to factor in ambient temperature, size of the audience and how much heat they generate, how well insulated the auditorium might be etc. The Nutcracker on Ice ft The Imperial Ice Stars. Photo: NMACC How do you achieve this feat of precision? We have a professional team at work on this. They use chillers and functioning machines for ice making and temperature control. Are you bringing a live orchestra? We are not. We need to use the space of the orchestra pit for our ice platform. There is no space for an orchestra. However the music has been recorded by a 65-piece orchestra and this is what we will be using. What should our Mumbai audiences expect from Nutcracker On Ice? This is essentially a Christmas story and has been liked by audiences wherever we have performed. The score from Tchaikovsky is the central part of the production. Your audiences might especially enjoy “Dance of the Sugar Plum Fairy.” Read More

Travis Scott Closes ‘Historic Chapter’ as He Breaks Solo Rap Tour Sales Record

Entertainment The Circus Maximus Tour is now the highest-grossing solo rap tour after selling 2.2 million tickets in two years, according to Live Nation Travis Scott‘s recently wrapped Circus Maximus World Tour broke global records. The 85-stop tour across the globe became the highest-grossing solo rap tour in history after grossing $250 million and selling more than 2.2 million tickets in over 20 countries, according to Live Nation. A source close to Scott’s camp tells Rolling Stone that the end of the tour marks the conclusion of a “historic chapter” in the rap star’s career, as he kicks off a new era that is set to go “beyond expectations.” “Rap may have gone backwards this year, but Travis operates outside that sandbox,” the source tells Rolling Stone. “His engagement is unmatched for live shows, even when benchmarked against global pop headliners and legacy stadium acts. He’s built sustained, unprecedented global demand across music, product, and touring that functions independently of genre cycles.” Scott launched the Circus Maximus Tour in celebration of his album Utopia in October 2023, taking it on six different legs over the span of two years. He first hit arenas in cities across North America, before heading to Europe, Latin America, and Oceania through 2024. After headlining Coachella this year, he took the tour to China, South Korea, India, and the United Arab Emirates. His last show of the run was in Mumbai on Nov. 19. “This tour marks the close of a historic chapter,” the source says. “What comes next is being built at a scale far beyond the expectations typically placed on a ‘rap artist.’ He’s moving into a tier with virtually no competition.” Scott’s shows in India also made history, as he delivered the largest rap concerts ever in the country, drawing 125,000 attendees, according to Live Nation. Scott brought several massive artists as special guests on the run, including Teezo Touchdown, Don Toliver, Sheck Wes, Nav, and Skilla Baby. From Rolling Stone US. Read More
