Spotify Premium Plans Are Changing, Here’s What You Need To Know

Entertainment New offerings include lossless streaming in the Premium Platinum plan, priced at ₹299 per month Spotify has launched new premium plans, including lossless streaming in India. Photo: Rasit Aydogan/Anadolu via Getty Images Spotify is now offering new plans for Premium subscribers in India, with different pricing and launching lossless streaming in India. While existing subscribers can continue with their Premium plans without any change in price or benefits, Spotify has now rolled out three different tiers of Premium subscriptions to replace their Premium Individual, Premium Duo and Premium Family tiers for new users. The new plans also mark a cost increase, following a previous change in monthly prices to Premium subscriptions in August this year. Now, users can choose from Spotify Premium Lite at ₹139 per month (the same as the erstwhile Premium Individual plan) for ad-free listening with up to 160kbps audio quality. Spotify Premium Standard at ₹199 per month adds audio quality up to 320kbps for listeners, as well as Offline access to tracks, playlists, and podcasts. The Premium Student is now priced at ₹99 per month with the same benefits as Premium Standard.   The big launch for the tech platform, however, is the Spotify Premium Platinum at ₹299 per month. While the Standard and Lite subscribers allow for one account each, Platinum subscribers can add a total of three accounts with lossless audio quality up to ~24-bit/44.1kHz. Billed as “the most advanced plan,” Spotify’s Premium Platinum subscription in India also includes features such as AI DJ (introduced internationally in 2023), a music companion that recommends old favorites and new genres, described as a “guide that knows you and your music taste so well that it can choose what to play for you.” AI Playlist, a feature that was launched in April this year in other markets, facilitates playlist creation based on a prompt of preference, adding track-to-track transitions for songs to flow together for house parties. Transitions can be tweaked based on volume, EQ and effect curves within the Spotify app. Spotify has also teamed up with DJ software like Rekordbox, Serato, and Djay for Third Party DJ integration and Mixing Tools, which allows users to bring their Spotify music library to those platforms and plan their sets. The Premium Platinum is now the highest-tier option, compared to the previous Premium Family plan, which was priced at ₹229 per month but also gave access to add up to six Premium accounts. Similarly, the Duo plan–which gave access to two accounts–is entirely done away with as things stand. Find more details about Spotify’s Premium plans in India here. Read More

Lesser-Known K-Pop and K-Culture Festivals in Asia Worth Attending

Entertainment Niche K-pop and K-culture festivals thrive across Asia, focusing on cultural exchange and music, despite major events stealing the spotlight. The sound of K-pop is resonating louder than ever, sparking a whole scene of K-pop and K-culture festivals across the globe, with Asia at the heart of these festivals. While popular events like KCON and the K-Pop World Festival continue to garner significant attention every year, here are some lesser-known, more niche events worth having on your radar if you love all things K-culture. MyK Festa, Seoul, South Korea The Korean Ministry of Culture, Sports, and Tourism (MCST) and the Korean Foundation for International Cultural Exchange (KFICE) collaborated to host MyK Festa, a new event, from June 19 to 22, 2025. The four-day event — envisioned as a way to promote Hallyu’s commercial value — featured performances by popular K-pop acts, including Aespa, Illit, Lee Young-ji, AHOF, Itzy, and Chung Ha, as well as traditional Korean music performances by gugak bands ADG7 and UheeSka. Other highlights included pop culture zones with exclusive merchandise, exhibits, and props from popular K-dramas; an international conference with industry experts like Billboard CEO Mike Van and Visa’s Danielle Jin; a meet-and-greet with celebrities; and food pop-ups serving authentic Korean dishes. It was a huge success, setting the tone for next year’s event, scheduled from June 25 to June 28, 2026. K-Pop Lovers Festival, Hanoi, Vietnam If you’re a fan of K-pop, a culture buff, or just want to experience something really unique, this festival is worth attending. A Korean Cultural Center, Vietnam initiative, in association with the Korea Creative Content Agency (KCCA) and The Seoul Newspaper, the K-pop Lovers Festival has evolved from a small gathering to a grand celebration, attracting thousands of participants with its K-pop dance and singing competitions, cultural showcases, and performances by homegrown and Korean artists. The festival is typically held in late spring or summer, around May, July, or August, and acts as a precursor to the K-Pop World Festival in South Korea. One of the major highlights is the singing and dance cover competition, where winners in the dance category get to represent Vietnam at the K-Pop Cover Dance Festival World Final in Korea. And the best part? It’s a free, open-to-all event. K-Town Festival, Mumbai, India Riding the Hallyu wave, K-Town Festival is a full-on cultural immersion, where fans can dive into all things Korean, from fashion and food to fan meet-ups, all while celebrating and sharing their love for the biggest hits and brightest stars in K-pop. For Indian K-pop fans, K-Town is an annual highlight that usually takes place in November, bringing some of K-pop’s biggest names to Mumbai. We’ve seen Chen and Xiumin of EXO, BamBam of GOT7, B.I, Taemin of Shinee, Super Junior-D&E, Onewe, and artists worth their salt rocking the stage. Such lineups and hands-on activities, including dance workshops and beauty tutorials, make this event totally worth checking out The Orchid Music Festival, Sikkim, India Sikkim is all set to make some noise on the global stage. Nestled in the Himalayas, this small, quaint state in Northeastern India is hosting its first-ever international music concert, The Orchid Music Festival 2025. This community-driven fest, backed by the local government, is going to be one for fans of K-pop and music in India. On Dec. 13, 2025, Paljor Stadium in Gangtok will be the stage for an epic night featuring local artists, UK pop sensation Blue, and K-pop stars Everglow, who are making their India debut. Positioning it as a landmark moment for Sikkim’s tourism and cultural landscape, Jason Manners, founder of Rockski, said in a statement, “We are thrilled to host Everglow in Sikkim,” adding that the performance “is not just a concert — it’s a statement that Sikkim is ready to stand on the global stage. Everglow’s performance will mark the beginning of a new chapter in the state’s international entertainment footprint.” The anticipation is building, promising a heady mix of K-pop energy and Himalayan splendor. Jeonju International Sori Festival Celebrating music from around the world, with a special focus on traditional Korean music such as pansori, this festival, taking place from late August to early September, is a global stage where artists fuse traditional and contemporary styles, bridging cultures through music. Ansan Street Arts Festival An open-air stage for intriguing local and international performances, this May event is a melting pot of diverse art forms—dance, circus, parades, and so much more—performed on the streets of Ansan for a kaleidoscopic experience like no other. Gimje Horizon Festival Gimje Horizon Festival will definitely pique your interest if you’re in for something offbeat. Taking place every year in early October, it’s a chance to sink your teeth into the region’s agricultural traditions, surrounded by the beauty of rice paddies. You can try your hand at farming, cooking, and other local activities. Besides, a nighttime torch parade is a major highlight not to be missed. Jeju Fire Festival As part of Jeju’s farming traditions, the Jeju Fire Festival revives the ancient culture of burning fields to prepare them for the new season. The ritual continues with grand fire and light displays happening around early March against the backdrop of Saebyeol Oreum, a volcanic cone with breathtaking views. It’s a major tourist attraction that has won several awards for its cultural significance. WeSA Festival A December highlight, the WeSA Festival in Seoul is a playground for experimentation, where sound design meets art and technology. Founded to build a sustainable ecosystem for sound artists, the festival goes beyond traditional performance formats, bringing together installations, workshops, and artist-led sessions that blur the lines between music and media art. An immersive three-day exchange of ideas and frequencies, past editions have explored themes like “Urban Moments,” blending modular synthesis, live visuals, and performance art to reimagine what a festival can be. The Andong Mask Dance Festival Traditional Korean mask dances, known as Talchum, and mask cultures from around the world steal the show at this lively celebration that happens

DGTL Bengaluru and 100 Pipers’ Play For a Cause Brings Sustainability to the Dancefloor

Entertainment The electronic music festival’s recent Bengaluru edition was angled towards a lower carbon footprint, waste reduction and reusable cups The installation at DGTL Bengaluru by 100 Pipers Travel Gear. When global festival DGTL returned to India for its fifth edition this October in Bengaluru, it stayed true to its core ethos of forward-thinking sounds and immersive stage design, but with a crucial dimension: a comprehensive environmental strategy that set new benchmarks for the country’s live music scene. For that key element, the festival’s Bengaluru edition found a perfect partner in 100 Pipers Travel Gear, whose Play for a Cause initiative transformed DGTL Bengaluru into one of the country’s most environmentally conscious editions yet. The collaboration between DGTL India and 100 Pipers was rooted in a shared mission: to curate memorable, eco-conscious experiences. The long-running Modular stage in Bengaluru became the Modular by 100 Pipers Play for a Cause stage this year at DGTL, marking a powerful symbol of both brands’ commitment to environmental responsibility. At every turn, 100 Pipers implemented practical solutions that were mindful of the festival’s environmental footprint. At the 100 Pipers zero-waste bar, festival-goers experienced how responsible consumption could be seamlessly integrated into the revelry — reusable beverage cups made from rice husk replaced disposable alternatives, while brand experiences were crafted from recycled materials. Even the energy powering these brand activations came from human movement, harnessing kinetic force to keep the lights on, so attendees were also participating in one of India’s most ambitious sustainable festival initiatives. Beyond these flagship initiatives, the collaboration touched every aspect of the festival experience. The food program was entirely plant-based, eliminating meat and dairy to lower carbon emissions. Comprehensive waste sorting and recycling systems ensured materials found second lives rather than landfills. Energy demands dropped significantly by tapping into venue power supplies instead of diesel generators. And the impact extended beyond the festival grounds through organized environmental restoration efforts — planting native trees, clearing coastlines of debris, and mobilizing donation campaigns. At its core, 100 Pipers Play for a Cause is about transformation — creating an engagement platform that enables consumers to be active participants in doing good rather than passive observers. For 100 Pipers, the collaboration fed into its larger “Be Remembered for Good” philosophy. Yet, it felt stripped of marketing language, encouraging people to reimagine what responsible raving can look like. Globally, DGTL has been one of the pioneers of the sustainable festival movement, with editions in Amsterdam and Barcelona running on renewable energy and circular design principles. The India chapter’s latest iteration shows how these ideas can be localized, proving that eco-conscious festivals can thrive even in complex event ecosystems like ours. As India’s festival landscape grows, DGTL’s fifth edition offers a rare, practical blueprint, proving that India’s music community is ready to embrace sustainability without sacrificing the electric energy that makes festivals truly iconic. And with partners like 100 Pipers leading the charge, the future of festival culture looks louder and more importantly, greener. This story is a paid partnership with 100 Pipers Travel Gear. Lee Jun-ho seems to be getting the best of both worlds right now, whether it’s drama or films. The 2PM star and popular Korean actor is making headlines currently with his excellent portrayal and the success of his ongoing drama, Typhoon Family. And while riding high on its success, fans are eagerly awaiting his upcoming series, Cashero. Adding to the excitement is the big news! Lee has been offered a leading role in the next chapter of the hit Korean movie, Veteran. Soompi reports that O3 Collective, the actor’s agency, has stated that he’s reviewing the role positively. Veteran (2015) became one of the highest-grossing films in the history of Korean cinema, directed by Ryoo Seung-wan. A gripping opus of crime, action, and suspense, it pits a fearless and seasoned detective, Seo Do-cheol (Hwang Jung-min), against a ruthless conglomerate heir, Jo Tae-oh (Yoo Ah-in), while investigating a case linked to him. And while the odds are stacked against Do-cheol, he won’t ever back down. The film’s finale is an intense ride, with an equally fierce showdown between Do-cheol and Tae-oh that’s appropriately described as a battle between the unstoppable and the untouchable. The film’s sequel, I, The Executioner, also known as Veteran 2 (2024), screened at the Cannes Film Festival 2024 in its midnight sessions, “Out of Competition” category, introducing a serial killer. To catch him, Hwang Jung-min’s Do-cheol teams up with rookie officer Park Sun-woo (Jung Hae-in), unaware he’s actually the killer. In the end, a confrontation between the two has Do-cheol spare Sun-woo’s life, to make him face the consequences for his actions. But here’s the twist: a post-credits scene reveals Sun-woo escapes, setting the stage for the next instalment. Lee Jun-ho’s potential involvement in Veteran 3 (working title) has surely sparked excitement, suggesting a thrilling continuation of the crime drama franchise with three superstars on board—Hwang Jung-min, Jung Hae-in, and Lee Jun-ho. Nothing has been revealed yet beyond Lee being approached for a starring role, with further details on the plot, cast additions, and production timeline yet to be announced. Read More

Is Shah Rukh Khan all set to unveil ‘SRK Tower’ at the Danube event in Mumbai on November 14?

Entertainment Over the years, Danube Properties and Rizwan Sajan, the founder and chairman of Danube Group, have created a huge name for themselves with their projects in Dubai, UAE. After organizing a massive event earlier this year in January, Rizwan and the team at Danube are all set for another event which will be held tomorrow, Friday, November 14, at a five-star hotel in Mumbai. While the invite to the January event informed the media that Kartik Aaryan would be present, the publicity team behind the November 14 event has chosen to withhold the name of the celeb who’ll grace the occasion. However, it has been said that it would be none other than superstar Shah Rukh Khan who’ll be present along with Rizwan Sajan at the event tomorrow. Is Shah Rukh Khan all set to unveil ‘SRK Tower’ at the Danube event in Mumbai on November 14? The Danube Group have posted a series of videos on their social media handle in the last two days which has given enough hints about SRK’s association. The videos have used text like ‘The big reveal’, ‘Two stories of success that will change the skyline of Dubai’, ‘From nothing to everything…Two legends one legacy’, all of which point towards SRK. In one video, Punit Malhotra of I Hate Luv Storys (2010) fame can be seen as the director of the ad. He also indicates that he shot with a major star. Lastly, a video posted by the brand earlier in the day shows the actor but purposely blurs his face and identity. Yet despite the blurring, it strongly feels that the star in question is none other than Shah Rukh Khan. Fans in the comments have also begun speculating about it. In one particular video, Rizwan Sajan reveals that he wanted a very powerful name for the association and that he could only think of one such man. The video also contains the text saying ‘A moment that will define the year’ and ‘A collaboration that the world will talk about’. And that’s not all. In the same video, Adel Sajan, managing director, Danube Group, confesses that “Nobody has dared to make a tower behind a celebrity’s name”. This has led to speculations that a building named ‘SRK Tower’ or something to that effect will be announced at the event tomorrow. All eyes are now on tomorrow’s Danube event in Mumbai to see if the mystery finally lifts. Will Shah Rukh Khan indeed be unveiled as the face of this landmark collaboration and the rumored ‘SRK Tower’? If the hints are anything to go by, the reveal could turn out to be one of the most talked-about moments of the year. EXCLUSIVE: CBFC censors frontal nudity scene and 2 sexually explicit visuals in Agra

Entertainment After touring various festivals, Titli (2015) director Kanu Behl’s Agra will finally arrive in cinemas tomorrow, that is, November 14. The film is known not for its realism but also sexually explicit content. Several moviegoers and journalists watched the uncut version of the film at the 21st MAMI Mumbai Film Festival 2023 and were wondering if the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) would allow its theatrical release without any cuts. EXCLUSIVE: CBFC censors frontal nudity scene and 2 sexually explicit visuals in Agra Bollywood Hungama has learned that as expected, the CBFC has asked for some modifications. Agra is a rare Hindi film to have frontal nudity and the Examining Committee of the CBFC asked the makers to replace the scene. Similarly, two sexually explicit visuals in the second half of the film were asked to be deleted. Lastly, the CBFC members asked the makers to replace obscene words. Once these changes were made, Agra was handed over an ‘A’ certificate on May 17, 2024. The length of the film, as mentioned on the censor certificate, is 115.05 minutes. In other words, Agra is 1 hours, 55 minutes and 5 seconds long. Agra marks the debut of Mohit Agarwal and also stars Rahul Roy, Priyanka Bose, Ruhani Sharma, Vibha Chibber, Sonal Jha and Aanchal Goswami in pivotal roles. It is the story of a sexually repressed young boy, who lives in a small house in Agra, Uttar Pradesh, with his mother, father and his father’s mistress. Bollywood Hungama had spoken to Kanu Behl after the MAMI premiere of Agra in November 2023. When asked if he was worried that the explicit sexual scenes might be cut by the CFC, he replied, “We’ll see. Hopefully, the censor board will see the film for what it is, how important the film is and what it’s trying to convey. I am hoping that they’ll be reasonable about the film. The sexuality in the film isn’t titillating. We are not trying to use sexuality for any other purpose. It is there to explore people’s sexual lives. The gaze of the film is correct, and I hope the censor board sees it that way and they assess the film through that lens.” Also Read: EXCLUSIVE: Rahul Roy-Priyanka Bose starrer Agra is a RARE Hindi film to depict frontal nudity; director Kanu Behl says “I am hoping that the Censor Board will be reasonable.
