Entertainment L’exposition retraçant les 60 ans de la manufacture de tapis de la Savonnerie sera visible dans la capitale en septembre. Il avait émis le souhait de les rencontrer il y a un peu moins d’un an lors de l’évènement Les Courageuses qui célébrait les 60 ans de la manufacture de tapis de la Savonnerie de Lodève, créée lors de l’arrivée de familles Harkis au terme d’un long et douloureux exil depuis l’Algérie. Ce mercredi 27 août, Éric Suzanne a invité les anciennes licières de l’atelier et l’association Mémoires Méditerranée en sous-préfecture de Lodève, pour évoquer l’invitation faite par l’État de monter à la capitale, dans le cadre de la présentation de l’exposition lodévoise à l’Élysée en septembre. Entertainment De la fierté et un besoin de reconnaissance “Cette invitation a été l’occasion de nous retrouver car cette exposition a eu un écho très large à Paris”, rappelle le sous-préfet. Dans un échange informel et convivial, il a pu écouter et questionner les participants réunis autour de la table pour parler de leur quotidien, de leur travail, de leur vie de l’époque, de leur histoire ou de leur parcours. Entendre aussi leur ressenti résumé par Jean-Paul Vitalis. Chacune des anciennes licières a parlé du quotidien et du travail de l’époque. L’ancien responsable du site a pris le relais de son père Octave à qui l’on avait demandé de quitter Tlemcem pour venir créer l’atelier Lodévois en 1964, une fois que le maire de l’époque Paul Coste-Floret ait accepté d’accueillir une soixantaine de familles de Harkis. Il avait des choses à dire : “Je trouve qu’on ne met pas assez en avant les créateurs de l’atelier et sa spécificité, celles et ceux qui l’ont fait évoluer, qui se sont battus pour qu’il ne ferme pas à deux reprises. Et toutes ces licières qui en ont bavé pendant des années.” Le sous-préfet Eric Suzanne a animé un échange informel et convivial avant d’évoquer la montée à Paris “Je craignais un peu de timidité chez les plus anciennes notamment, toutes se sont exprimées et avaient plaisir à le faire”, reprend Éric Suzanne en évoquant un besoin de reconnaissance “qui aurait dû avoir lieu plus tôt” et un sentiment de fierté du travail réalisé, malgré des conditions extrêmes et pénibles pendant des années, dans des baraquements de fortune en entrée de ville. Une reconnaissance tardive accentuée lorsque le conseiller spécial du président de la République, pour les questions mémorielles, a décidé de faire découvrir l’exposition Les Courageuses à la Maison et au Palais de l’Elysée. “Nous lui avons demandé d’inviter les anciennes licières de Lodève, symboliquement c’était important et elles pourront aller la voir du 24 au 27 septembre”, complète l’élue lodévoise Fadelha Benammar-Koly, à l’initiative du projet Les Courageuses avec Mémoires Méditerranée. Holley was originally waived as part of final roster cuts, before being brought back on the practice squad. His tenure lasted just two days before he was released to make room for other additions. The six-foot-one, 285-pound defender signed with the Brown this offseason after helping the Toronto Argonauts win the Grey Cup in 2024. He was a standout along the defensive line, recording 22 tackles, eight sacks, and one forced fumble. His eight sacks tied for the league lead despite him playing mostly on the interior for Toronto. The 25-year-old worked out for seven NFL teams before signing with the Browns, including the Atlanta Falcons, Tennessee Titans, Cincinnati Bengals, Pittsburgh Steelers, Minnesota Vikings, and New Orleans Saints. He recorded one tackle in three preseason games. The native of West Bloomfield, Mich. played collegiately at Western Michigan University where he recorded 138 tackles, 45.5 tackles for loss, 20.5 sacks, five pass knockdowns, two forced fumbles, and one fumble recovery over 50 games with the Broncos. He was named first-team All-Mid-American Conference in 2020 and second-team All-Mid-American Conference in 2021. At his pro day in 2022, Holley ran 4.99 in the 40-yard dash, 4.67 short shuttle, and 7.53 three-cone drill while recording a 30-inch vertical and an eight-foot, 10-inch broad jump. He also bench pressed 225 pounds 24 times. Holley is now free to sign with any other NFL team, though the Argonauts still control his exclusive CFL rights for the rest of 2025. Read More

An OG Bitcoin whale transferred 750 BTC, valued at around US$83 million, to Binance on August 27 sparking speculation they’re looking to take profits. The whale first acquired their bag of 5,000 BTC in 2013 at an average price of US$332. They’re now believed to have sold 1,750 BTC for a profit of around US$550 million. A recent surge in activity of long-term Bitcoin whales has been seen, many of whom acquired their BTC for under US$10, as they take the opportunity to lock in huge profits. A Bitcoin whale transferred 750 BTC, valued at the time at around US$84 million (AU$128.9m), to Binance on August 27, fuelling speculation that the owner may have sold to lock in millions in profits.  On-chain data shows that the 750 BTC were part of 5,000 Bitcoin first acquired way back in late 2013 for around US$332 (AU$509) per BTC, just under US$1.66 million (AU$2.5m) in total. The owner of the address had held all 5.000 BTC for over 11 years, laying dormant until last December when they started to become active after the price of Bitcoin crossed the US$90,000 (AU$138k) mark.  A Bitcoin OG “bc1qlf” sold another 750 $BTC($83.11M) in the past 2 hours. 12 years ago, he received 5K $BTC($1.66M then) at only $332 and only started selling after $BTC broke $90K in December 2024. He has sold 1,750 $BTC($189.3M) at $108,160 avg, leaving 3,250 $BTC($360.75M).… pic.twitter.com/m3G3lhgm9C — Lookonchain (@lookonchain) August 27, 2025 According to the X account Lookonchain, the owner has now sold a total of 1,750 BTC at an average price per BTC of US$108,160 (AU$166k) with a total value of US$189.3 million (AU$290m). These figures include the 750 BTC just transferred to Binance.  Lookonchain added that the owner is now in profit to the tune of US$550 million (AU$844m), a 331x return on their initial investment. The owner still holds a further 3,250 BTC, with 750 BTC remaining in the wallet that made the transfer to Binance and another 2,500 sitting in a related wallet. Related: Dormant Bitcoin Whale Moves $349M After a Decade of Silence OG Bitcoin Whales Start to Get Active The last few months have seen a wave of activity from long-dormant Bitcoin whale accounts.  On July 24, a long-term Bitcoin HODLer who first acquired their stash in 2011 at an average price of around US$0.37 (AU$0.57) moved their entire holdings of 3,962 BTC, now valued at over US$460 million (AU$706m) to a new address, according to data from bitinfocharts. Before this transfer it had been assumed the keys to this account had been lost. Earlier in July another whale shifted 10,603 BTC, now valued at over US$1 billion (AU$1.5b) after several years of inactivity, while an OG whale whose wallet had been inactive for over 14 years sent a whopping 40,191 BTC (valued at over US$4 billion [AU$6.1b]) to Galaxy Digital on July 17. Crypto analyst Willy Woo commented that the wave of activity from long-term Bitcoin whales, many of whom are taking profits, was harming Bitcoin’s momentum and distorting the market. BTC supply is concentrated around OG whales who peaked their holdings in 2011. They bought their BTC at $10 or lower. This differential in cost basis, the supply they hold and their rate of selling has profound impacts on how much new capital that needs to come in to lift price.
