College football players to watch

Top players and teams are beginning to separate themselves from the pack. Teams are being dealt heartbreaking losses, and underdogs are competing for huge upsets. It is Week 6 for NCAA football, and these are the players I am keeping a close eye on this weekend.

Zachariah Branch

After transferring from the USC Trojans over the offseason, Zachariah Branch landed with the University of Georgia and has now become a prominent target for the Bulldogs. Branch has eclipsed 200 yards this season on just 14 receptions, but has two scores. He has the speed to turn any reception into a big-time play.

Jacob Rodriguez

At 6’1”- 230lbs, the Red Raiders’ linebacker is a force to be reckoned with. Jacob Rodriguez is leading Texas Tech with 11 solo tackles on the season in addition to two forced fumbles and an interception. TTU faces a tough road test this weekend as they head to Houston for a date with the unbeaten Cougars.

Adon Shuler

Notre Dame’s Adon Shuler is just a sophomore, but is already playing like a top player on the gridiron. The safety has forced one fumble and deflected two passes through four games. Shuler should be expected to continue making strides for the Irish as they take on the 3-1 Boise State Broncos on Saturday.

What are some other names you’re keeping an eye on throughout the upcoming season? Are there any players in particular that you’re hoping to see in a Saints’ uniform in 2026? Let us hear it in the comments!
