Conor McGregor praised Jake Paul just like he said he would before the fight
Conor McGregor warned Jake Paul about fighting Anthony Joshua when he shared his thoughts on the matchup in an exclusive interview with Bloody Elbow.
‘The Notorious’ said that it “shouldn’t go ahead” in his opinion but if it did, he’d have to tip his hat to Paul for taking on such a dangerous challenge.
The reaction to the fight has been somewhat split, specifically in regards to the way that ‘The Problem Child’ approached the bout on December 19.
Some have praised him for surviving and having more success than anyone expected, while others have criticized him for running and repeatedly attempting to take Joshua down.
After Paul provided an update on his health via Instagram, McGregor stayed true to his word when sending a message to his fellow star.
The former UFC champ-champ wrote, “Fair play! Well done,” underneath a photo from Paul’s hospital bed.

When sharing his thoughts on the fight in an interview with Bloody Elbow, Conor McGregor highlighted something that he’s noticed about Anthony Joshua in the past.
We saw throughout fight week that while ‘AJ’ was joking around and in high spirits, he was very serious about putting Jake Paul away with no time for games.
The former two-time heavyweight champion’s patience was tested before he was able to put together the finishing blows with ruthless efficiency.
“I’ve been ringside to watch Joshua and that is a heavy punching man,” McGregor said. “And he’s a happy and good person, but he has an anger in him, he has a darkness, does Anthony Joshua. I don’t think a lot of people suss that.”
