Couple banned from JetBlue, face lewd conduct charges in Florida

Two Connecticut residents, Trista L. Reilly, 43, and Christopher Drew Arnold, 42, have been released from custody on their own recognizance after being arrested for allegedly engaging in lewd behavior on a JetBlue flight from New York to Sarasota. The incident, which took place on July 19, was reportedly witnessed by two minors and their mother.

According to court documents released by the Sarasota County Sheriff’s Office, the incident occurred at approximately 10:28 a.m. A mother traveling with her children informed a JetBlue flight attendant that two nearby passengers were performing sexual acts in their seats.

Upon approaching the passengers, the flight attendant allegedly observed Reilly “making up-and-down movements with her head while she was face down on Mr. Arnold’s lap.” These claims were corroborated by the children, who said they directly witnessed the act.

JetBlue has since banned both individuals from flying with the airline.

“This behavior is completely unacceptable and will not be tolerated by JetBlue,” the airline stated in an official email. “Immediately upon receiving the report, our crewmembers acted swiftly to engage JetBlue’s security team and law enforcement. We are fully cooperating with the investigation, and these customers are no longer welcome to fly JetBlue.”

The flight landed at Sarasota Bradenton International Airport around 11:30 a.m., when both Reilly and Arnold were taken into custody. They have each been charged with lewd or lascivious exhibition in the presence of minors.

Additionally, both individuals have pending misdemeanor charges in Connecticut related to disorderly conduct and assault.

Their arraignment in Sarasota County Court is scheduled for August 15.
