Dana White’s offering for boxers in highly anticipated new league shocked Eddie Hearn

Eddie Hearn isn’t worried about the competition of Dana White’s new boxing promotion, especially after learning about a recent offer that was sent to a boxer.

Earlier this year, UFC boss Dana White announced that he was creating his own boxing promotion in partnership with the consensus saviour of boxing, Turki Alalshikh.

Just months later, the pair put on their inaugural event, headlined by a super middleweight title fight between Canelo Alvarez and Terence Crawford, which went down as one of the biggest fights of the century.

It was then announced that the promotion has signed an exclusive broadcast partnership with Paramount for broadcast rights in the United States, with Sky Sports also in talks for international broadcast rights.

Do you think Dana White’s involvement in boxing will make the sport better?

Eddie Hearn shocked after learning offer sent by Dana White

Since moving into the world of boxing, the outspoken White has seemingly burnt bridges with those who are now his competitors, Eddie Hearn being the main one.

Despite the friendship the two previously had, they have been locked into a bitter feud over the past year, consistently going at each other in the media.

One of the reasons being that White is attempting to change the Muhammad Ali Act with his new promotion, which hasn’t sat well with the boxing world.

And with that, Hearn recently learned about an offer White and his promotion sent to a boxer to compete in their promotion.

Rumors recently circulated that Zuffa Boxing is scheduled to run their first show on January 23, set to be held at the controversial UFC Apex.

“January 23 is their first show that’s (confirmed),” Hearn told Boxing Social.

“No (I don’t know who will be on the show), I was with a manager the other day who told me about an offer that they’ve made to one of their fighters, I couldn’t believe how bad the money was.

“I don’t see why there should be an alteration to the Muhammad Ali Act, the Act is there and designed to protect the fighters. Respect the fighters, protect the fighters, I’m not gonna get into a fight with congress, the geeza is mates with Donald Trump, what am I gonna do? It doesn’t take a rocket scientist to know what they’re trying to do.”

Could we see Dana White and Eddie Hearn work together in the future?

In boxing, it is extremely common for promoters to work together, even though sometimes they aren’t fond of each other.

And although White and Hearn used to have a strong relationship, it is unlikely that White will be working with any of his fellow promoters in the near future, as he will look to transform the sport of boxing, similarly to how he has done so in the UFC.
