Darren Till’s former UFC rival who ended his undefeated record with a one-sided win sends ominous rematch prediction

One of Darren Till’s former opponents gave his thoughts on the former UFC star’s recent win.

Early in 2023, the Brit made the decision to part ways with the UFC, aiming to take some time off and rebuild himself before potentially returning.

Friday night in Manchester saw Till continue his boxing ascendancy by knocking out Luke Rockhold in the third round.

‘The Gorilla’ has proven himself to be a great signing for Misfits Boxing, producing his third win in the promotion in 2025.

Till now has some big names he is targeting for his next bout, though it looks like a former opponent of his might be the one coming after him.

Tyron Woodley responds to question about a rematch with Darren Till in boxing by giving his prediction

In September of 2018, Darren Till’s six-fight unbeaten streak in the UFC earned him a shot at the welterweight title.

The undefeated striker was quickly becoming one of the promotion’s top stars but at UFC 228 in Dallas, his stock took a fairly significant hit.

Till wasn’t just beaten by the defending champion Tyron Woodley, he failed to land anything significant before being dropped and submitted in the second round.

‘T-Wood’ has posted several times on social media in recent months about a potential rematch with his former UFC opponent in a boxing ring.

He claimed back in May that he had already accepted a fight with Till in the past when Misfits co-president Mams Taylor pitched the idea of the bout.

I’ve literally accepted 4Huge fights over the last couple years and the cap has been astronomical. Floyd, Manny, KSI, and Till. I Been here. I’ll Believe it when i see them make the walk to the ring/cage https://t.co/3L6ev4BGvK

After ending his UFC career in 2021 following four consecutive losses, Woodley competed in two boxing matches with Jake Paul, where he was beaten on both occasions.

Shortly after Till knocked out Luke Rockhold on August 30, the former welterweight champion was asked again about a rematch, where he provided his prediction of how it would go.

“Nothing would change.”

Dana White admitted that the Tyron Woodley fight came too early for Darren Till

In a 2019 interview with ESPN, Dana White admitted that the promotion may have pushed Darren Till quickly following his win over Donald ‘Cowboy’ Cerrone in 2017.

‘The Gorilla’ was able to narrowly beat Stephen Thompson in a close fight that then pushed him into a title shot, which was proven to be too soon.

“I think Till went back to the drawing board. He’s a young guy and after the win over ‘Cowboy,’ we might have pushed him a little too soon… That weight division is nasty. It’s like murderer’s row in that top eight. So we’ll give him some time, look for a next opponent and see what’s next for him.”

The Brit would go on to move to middleweight after this, with Till beating Kelvin Gastelum at UFC 244 in a fight White tried to talk him out of.
