DETROIT BILLBOARD
The end of the game between the Steelers and Detroit Lions was a mess. The Lions were stopped short of the goal line on 4th down, but Amon-Ra St. Brown pitched the ball to Jared Goff, who scored. However, there was a prior flag on the field. That resulted in the touchdown being negated, ending the game. Some fans in Detroit still aren’t happy about that, though.
Lions reporter Eric Woodyard posted a picture on Twitter of a billboard in Detroit that says “robbed.” It’s decorated in Lions colors. Clearly, someone believes that the Lions should’ve won that game. However, the rules are what they are. The Lions were flagged for offensive pass interference on that final play, negating the ensuing touchdown.
STEELERS-LIONS RATINGS
The Steelers found themselves in an exciting game in Week 16. Although things started slowly, the second half became a shootout. The Steelers came out on top, although it wasn’t easy. That was good for CBS, which was broadcasting the game.
CBS Sports PR shared the game’s ratings on Twitter. It was successful for them, so successful that it received the network’s best ratings in a Week 16 national game window since 1998. The game attracted 28.547 million viewers. It would be interesting to see how many of them were satisfied by its conclusion.
END OF GAME MIC’D UP
There was plenty of confusion surrounding the end of the game between the Steelers and Lions. The referees took a while to sort through everything and determine what happened. Players were just as lost as fans, unsure of what the final ruling would be.
However, some players were mic’d up, and the NFL shared some reactions on Twitter. Aaron Rodgers, in particular, remained confident that the Steelers won. He even read the referee’s lips and determined that they were going to call offensive pass interference. The Steelers left with the win by the skin of their teeth.
