A Steelers Depot daily segment. A quick hit of some Pittsburgh Steelers-related stories that may not require a complete article but nuggets worth mentioning and passing on to you guys.

PAYTON WILSON TRAINING

The Steelers defense didn’t have a great 2025 season. While it entered the year with high expectations, it struggled to find its footing until around midseason. It was far from perfect after that, too. Payton Wilson was one player who didn’t necessarily take the leap that some might’ve expected. He wasn’t bad, but he still had obvious flaws in his game.

While the Steelers’ season hasn’t been over for very long, Wilson is still working hard to improve himself. Scott Emerson posted videos on Twitter showing the linebacker working out. He’s heading into his third NFL season, so hopefully, he can take a bigger step forward.

RAIDERS INTERVIEWING FORMER STEELERS COACH

Mike Tomlin stepping down resulted in most of the Steelers coaching staff changing. While some of them have landed elsewhere, others are still looking for jobs. However, they aren’t the only former Steelers coaches floating around the league. Frisman Jackson was the teams’ wide receivers coach in 2022 and 2023. He was also the Seahawks’ receivers coach last year. Now, he could be getting a new job.

NFL Network insider Tom Pelissero reported on Twitter that the Las Vegas Raiders are interviewing Jackson for their offensive coordinator opening. Jackson has never been an NFL offensive coordinator before, but he’s got a lot of experience in the league. New Raiders head coach Klint Kubiak was the Seahawks’ offensive coordinator last year, so he’s familiar with Jackson.

Joey Porter Sr. recently reflected on some of those running backs, as shared by Raphael Haynes on Twitter. Porter mentions that several of those players weren’t easy to defend against. However, when Porter saw someone run over one of his teammates, that usually fired him up.
