Depot After Dark: Rodgers Most-Viewed Player, Aiyuk Placed On Reserve List, Ravens Get Safety Back

A Steelers Depot daily segment. A quick hit of some Pittsburgh Steelers-related stories that may not require a complete article but nuggets worth mentioning and passing on to you guys.

Your Depot After Dark for Dec. 13.

RODGERS MOST-VIEWED PLAYER IN WISCONSIN

Aaron Rodgers hasn’t played for the Green Bay Packers since 2022, but that hasn’t stopped people in the state of Wisconsin from keeping up with his career. Pro Football Reference released a list of the most-viewed players in each state, and Rodgers led the way for Wisconsin.

Rodgers is the only current Steelers player who made the list, but former QB Russell Wilson was also included as the most-viewed player in the state of Washington. Former quarterbacks were a hit on the list, as Tom Brady was the most-viewed player in the entire region of New England. As far as Pennsylvania goes, the honor went to Philadelphia Eagles QB Jalen Hurts as the most-viewed player, and the Eagles were also the most-viewed team in Pennsylvania.

AIYUK PLACED ON RESERVE-LEFT TEAM LIST

In what shouldn’t come as much of a surprise, the San Francisco 49ers placed WR Brandon Aiyuk on the reserve-left team list, per today’s NFL transactions log. The news comes on the heels of a report that the 49ers were looking to void Aiyuk’s contract after this season due to him continually missing meetings and not going through the rehab process for a torn ACL to the team’s liking.

The relationship between the two sides deteriorated, and Aiyuk, whom the Steelers had interest in trading for ahead of last season, could be a free agent this offseason. Given his injury and the way things have gone between Aiyuk and the 49ers this season, the Steelers may not have the same level of interest, but he’s going to a player to watch this offseason if the team does decide to make a play for him.

RAVENS GETTING STARTING SAFETY BACK

Just seven months after he tore his Achilles, Baltimore Ravens safety Ar’Darius Washington was activated off IR, per the NFL transactions log. Washington suffered the injury in OTAs, but now he’ll return to help the Ravens down the stretch.

Baltimore is one game behind the Steelers in the AFC North, and Washington will likely face the Steelers in Week 18 in what could be a winner-take-all game for the division. He’s well-remembered by Steelers fans for forcing a fumble against Russell Wilson last season that turned the tide of the second matchup between the two teams.

It’ll be interesting to see how Washington looks in his return to play, but he could be a big addition to Baltimore’s defense.
