Veteran actor Dharmendra breathed his last on November 24 at his Mumbai residence. Three days after his demise, the Deol brothers had organised a prayer meet at Mumbai’s Taj Lands End hotel to pay tribute to their father. Celebrities across generations attended the prayer meet in Mumbai on November 27.​ Several celebrities – Salman Khan, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Madhuri Dixit, Vidya Balan, Ameesha Patel, Fardeen Khan, Sonu Sood and Suniel Shetty – were seen attending the prayer meet. From the multiple videos and photos that have gone viral, Dharmendra’s sons – Sunny Deol and Bobby Deol – were seen greeting the guests with folded hands. A new video from the ceremony has gone viral on social media, and it also features singer Sonu Nigam.

An emotional moment from the prayer meet has now gone viral on social media. As evident from the video, it features Sonu Nigam giving Sunny Deol a warm hug. Bobby, who is stands next to Sunny, too embraces both of them. Sonu Nigam is also seen chatting briefly with them. The Deol brothers are also spotted speaking to guests with their hands folded.
Sonu Nigam had sung the iconic song Apne from the 2007 film. The popular movie had featured Dharmendra, Sunny, and Bobby Deol in key roles.​
