Dhurandhar: Release date, OTT platform, two-part theory, runtime, cast, plot, and more about the espionage thriller

Dhurandhar is one of the most-awaited Bollywood films of 2025. The espionage thriller promises to be bold, full of thrills, and super action sequences. As the release date is near, here’s everything you need to know about Dhurandhar. 

Dhurandhar is a high-intensity action drama centred on covert operations and national security, inspired by real-life events like Pakistan’s Operation Lyari. The story follows a secret Indian agent who infiltrates a dangerous criminal network in Karachi and destroys a powerful adversary. 

The film emphasises the sacrifices of intelligence officers and their commitment to national security. A notable aspect of the story is the moral dilemmas faced in the world of espionage, where loyalties are constantly tested, and nothing is as it seems. The story delves deep into the complex dynamics of international politics, where the lines between right and wrong often blur. Dhurandhar is also expected to shed light on the personal and emotional toll of living a dangerous, secret life.

Bollywood Hungama reported that Dhurandhar might have a Part 2 that is scheduled for a 2026 release. “There have been reports that Dhurandhar is a two-part saga. Hence, the film, which will be released on December 5, will be the first instalment. It’ll end at a decisive point and the story will then continue in the second part,” the source mentioned.

The report further mentioned that director Aditya Dhar has shot the film extensively. Since it’s so long, they’re working on the idea of ​​splitting it into two parts.

Dhurandhar is going to be one of the longest Hindi films in 17 years. Dhurandhar Part 1’s length is reportedly around 3 hours and 32 minutes. The final runtime has been kept under wraps. However, it’s expected to be around 3.5 hours long. 

Dhurandhar features Ranveer Singh in the intense role, introduced as The Wrath of God. He is an undercover operative, R. Madhavan as a National Security Advisor, Akshaye Khanna as a crime lord, Arjun Rampal as an ISI officer, and Sanjay Dutt as a Karachi police officer. The cast is further strengthened by Sara Arjun, veteran actor Rakesh Bedi, and Vikash Rai.

The film is directed by Aditya Dhar, the filmmaker of Uri: The Surgical Strike and it is produced by Aditya Dhar, Jyoti Deshpande, and Lokesh Dhar.
