Dwyane Wade calls it an honor to present Carmelo Anthony at 2025 Basketball Hall of Fame induction

Carmelo Anthony‘s introduction to the Hall of Fame was originally announced in April 2025. Later, the former Los Angeles Lakers star chose two NBA legends to greet him when he joins the Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame next month.

He asked Dwyane Wade and Allen Iverson to be his presenters at this year’s induction ceremony. After that, the former point guard penned a message to Carmelo Anthony on social media showing his appreciation.

Although the names have already been announced, the 2025 Basketball Hall of Fame class will be formally inducted and presented in front of multiple other Hall of Famers in September. Carmelo Anthony, a legendary member of the Denver Nuggets and a legend of Team USA, is included in the class.The 2025 Naismith Hall of Fame presenters’ names were also made public a few days ago. The same was revealed on Thursday on X by the official Hall of Fame account. As per Ian Begley of SNY,“Carmelo Anthony selected Hall of Famers Dwyane Wade and Allen Iverson as presenters for his upcoming induction into the Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame. Dwight Howard selected Hall of Famer Patrick Ewing to be among the group of people presenting him, the HOF announced..”

Now, after that, Dwyane Wade took to Instagram and posted an announcement along with a caption: “D WADE & AI PRESENTING MELO AT THE HALL OF FAME CEREMONY 🫡>>>”. He then wrote:“Honored!”The bond between D-Wade and Carmelo Anthony extends beyond their shared experiences on court. They have been members of Team USA and long-time friends. They also played together at the 2004 and 2008 Summer Olympics, despite never having the same NBA season. Additionally, they were also among the top offensive teams in the league at the time, despite their limited collaboration. They eventually became close over time. Their relationship has always transcended the system. In fact, Dwyane Wade referred to Carmelo Anthony as a “brother” at one point.

On the other hand, Carmelo Anthony also feels honored by the whole thing. He recently said on a podcast: “For me, that’s it. There’s nothing else in basketball I can do … that’s the pinnacle, that’s the door….”In the meantime, the presenters will honor the winners before their induction into the Naismith Hall of Fame. The occasion will be held in Springfield, Massachusetts, on September 6.
