Mumbai: Maharashtra chief minister Devendra Fadnavis is aggressively pushing senior government officials on issues regarding governance, ease of doing business reforms and pushing private investments in the manufacturing sector.
Fadnavis has now given specific tasks to the divisional commissioners from facilitating investments in MSMEs to promoting exports.
Six divisional commissioners have been given key responsibilities and a deadline to prepare a plan to help Maharashtra develop faster than other states.
“The brief given to this committee is to streamline regulatory and compliance mechanisms, lower the cost of doing business by eliminating procedural inefficiencies by removing red tape and to build investor confidence,” a senior IAS official said.
A state government official said that the state government wants to cut the delays and bottlenecks due to the human interface of industry and government bodies by integrating Artificial Intelligence.
