A new Misfits champion has been crowned following a clash of debutants.
Before Andrew Tate vs Chase DeMoor closes out Misfits Mania: The Fight Before Christmas from Dubai, several other title fights took place.
One of which features Tony Ferguson facing Warren Spencer in his second Misfits outing of the year after parting ways with the UFC.
However, ‘El Cucuy’ wasn’t the only fighter in action on December 20 who has experienced what it’s like to compete inside the Octagon.
A debuting fighter looked to follow in his footsteps by winning a belt in their first bout with the promotion.

Former UFC fighter Pearl Gonzalez defeats BKFC veteran Tai Emery to win Misfits title
On December 20, debuting Misfits fighters Pearl Gonzalez and Tai Emery faced off for the promotion’s women’s middleweight title.
Gonzalez comes from an MMA background and was signed to the UFC in 2017 with a 5-1 record, but her run with the promotion was short-lived following back-to-back losses.
That didn’t stop her from competing elsewhere, with appearances in promotions like Invicta FC and BKFC before eventually arriving in Misfits.
Emery, who has mostly competed in BKFC where she famously flashed the crowd after winning her debut, immediately engaged in a brawl following the opening bell.
Gonzalez then took control of the fight once it settled into a regular pace, producing the cleaner work throughout.
Both women stood and traded in the final seconds but it was already clear that Gonzalez was a level ahead from start to finish, securing the middleweight belt with two scores of 49-46 and one 50-45.

Pearl Gonzalez quickly set her sights on a second Misfits title
In her post-fight interview, Pearl Gonzalez was joined in the ring by another Misfits champion, Carla Jade.
The lightweight titleholder successfully defended her belt earlier in the night, beating Taylor Starling via the scorecards.
Things quickly escalated inside the ring, with an intense face-off between them ending with Gonzalez slapping Jade before the two women were separated.
