Francis Ngannou confirms PFL contract ends before the UFC White House event while opening up on regrets

Francis Ngannou’s relationship with Dana White and the UFC has been well documented.

While fans have hoped of seeing the former UFC heavyweight champion make a return to the Octagon at some point, this still looks highly unlikely.

Just last month, White claimed that Ngannou put his hands on him during a heated discussion that took place in the UFC president’s office.

It has been made very clear that his departure from the promotion in 2023 wasn’t due to a sudden breakdown in communications.

Ngannou, who seemingly addressed White’s comments on social media, recently spoke about his plans for the future in a recent interview.

Francis Ngannou is expecting to fight in MMA next due to his PFL contract expiring ‘soon’

While appearing on The Ariel Helwani Show, Francis Ngannou didn’t feel the need to dispute Dana White’s recent comments about a physical altercation between them.

The former UFC heavyweight champion believes that questions about it are best directed towards the UFC president as he doesn’t want to defend himself against other people’s comments.

Despite this, Ngannou did admit that he has some regrets about the breakdown in his relationship with his former promotion.

“It shouldn’t have gone this way,” Ngannou reflected. “Why did we get all this way, first of all. What was the purpose? How come we got from where we were to where we are right now? On the other hand, I would just say this. I’m quite disappointed the way that things went, that’s all.”

‘The Predator’ is ready and willing to fight and while he hasn’t had any talks about his next bout as of yet, he believes it will be in MMA because he’s getting close to the end of his PFL deal.

Ngannou only stated that it expires “soon”, though he did confirm that it ends before the UFC’s event at the White House on June 14.

PFL is set to crown a new heavyweight champion this weekend in Lyon, where Vadim Nemkov faces Renan Ferreira in the main event, which could set the winner up to face Ngannou.

Francis Ngannou is still targeting Jon Jones but describes it as “so complicated”

When he was asked who his preferred opponents are in boxing and MMA if it was up to him, Francis Ngannou said Deontay Wilder and Jon Jones are his ideal matchups.

However, Ngannou also cautioned fans about getting too excited about the possibility of him returning to the UFC to face ‘Bones’ at the White House.

The former UFC champion described the fight as being “so complicated”, despite it still being something that he wants to tick off.
