The OnePlus 15 got official in China last month, and it’s going global on November 13, which is in exactly one week from today. Ahead of the global unveiling, the company has shared some more details about the device and its inner workings.
Like the Chinese model, the international OnePlus 15 has a “1.5K” resolution LTPO OLED screen with 165Hz refresh rate, and that combo is an industry-first. It should deliver “a new level of fluid motion combined with retina-level clarity and detail”.
The display has a 1,800-nit High Brightness Mode, and a minimum brightness of 1 nit. It’s been certified by TÜV Rheinland for eye care, and includes an Eye Comfort Reminder and an Eye Comfort Mode in gaming “that subtly adjusts color saturation to help reduce eye strain”.
The brand promises that you will be able to enjoy 165fps gaming in Call of Duty: Mobile, Brawl Stars, and Clash of Clans. In other titles, you can apparently expect an “industry-first always-on 120fps gameplay with zero frame drops”.
There’s a 360-degree Cryo-Velocity Cooling System too, which integrates a 5,731mm² 3D vapor chamber for great heat dissipation, and an aerospace-derived aerogel insulation layer to minimize heat transfer, along with a white graphite back cover for uniform thermal distribution. All of this should make the phone comfortable to the touch regardless of what you’re playing and for how long.
The phone is powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 SoC, paired with a dedicated touch response chip that enables 3,200Hz touch sampling. There’s also a standalone Wi-Fi chip that “maintains strong, stable connectivity even in crowded network environments”.
Keeping the lights on is the same 7,300 mAh Silicon NanoStack battery that made its debut in the Chinese model, thankfully. This has 15% silicon content, and charges at 120W via wire and 50W wirelessly. The battery will retain at least 80% of its initial capacity after four years of use and can operate reliably in temperatures as low as -20°C.
Unsurprisingly, the OnePlus 15 will debut with OxygenOS 16 on board, based on Android 16. The handset comes with IP66, IP68, IP69, and IP69K ratings for dust and water resistance.
