Half a decade and counting

- Two login events to take part in
- New hero Squirrel Chriselle joins in
- Social media events to be held
Kakao Games is celebrating the fifth anniversary of Guardian Tales, the studio’s charming pixel-art RPG on iOS and Android. As you might expect, there are plenty of free summons to be given away to ramp up the festivities, plus 3,000 gems and a new hero to boot.
I honestly can’t believe it’s been five years already – Guardian Tales holds a special place in my heart as one of the most memorable RPGs I’ve ever reviewed when I was just a newbie reviewer. Now that it’s already enjoying half a decade in this competitive mobile sphere, I’d say it’s truly a feat worth celebrating.
As for the festivities themselves, you can look forward to summoning 10 times each day for five days, with 100 Selectable Summon Controllers up for grabs thanks to the 5th Anniversary Special Attendance Event. The Hidden Treasure of the Hill, on the other hand, will have cards and costumes on offer, while the Fifth Anniversary Festival will put books of blessing and Hero Crystals up for grabs.
And finally, the new hero Squirrel Chriselle and her Myth form will be joining the fray as an adorable addition to your lineup, with her own Memorial Short Story available to dive into as well.
Of course, the loyal community is front and centre here, with special events to be held on social media with tons of goodies to be given away, so it’s worth keeping your eyes peeled for that.
In the meantime, if you’re eager to join in on all the fun, you can do so by checking out Guardian Tales on Google Play and on the App Store. It’s free-to-play with in-app purchases. You can also take a little peek at the embedded clip above to get a feel of the vibes and visuals.

Her Young Adult contemporary novel, For The Win: The Not-So-Epic Quest Of A Non-Playable Character, is her third book published by Penguin Random House SEA – a poignant love letter to gamer geeks, mythological creatures, teenage heartbreak, and everything in between.
She one day hopes to soar the skies as a superhero, but for now, she strongly believes in saving lives through her works in fiction. Check out her books at bit.ly/catherinedellosabooks, or follow her on FB/IG/Twitter at @thenoobwife.
