Hard Seltzer Recall: Cans Mistakenly Labeled as Energy Drinks

Published on Jul. 30, 2025

Certain Celsius cans have been filled with High Noon hard seltzer.

Before you pack up that cooler for a weekend getaway, make sure to check what you’re bringing. There’s a High Noon recall for a specific variety pack of the brand’s vodka seltzers because the packs actually contain Celsius cans. It’s a big mix-up that involves some Celsius cans potentially containing alcohol, which is not indicated on the energy drink’s label. Here’s what we know so far about the recall.

What caused the recall?

This High Noon recall is a little confusing, but I’ll outline the basics that you need to know. Empty Celsius cans were mistakenly shipped to a High Noon production facility instead of High Noon cans. The Celsius cans were then filled with the vodka seltzer and packed into High Noon boxes. The High Noon boxes were shipped to retailers before the mix-up was identified, and consumers may have already purchased the boxes.

Celsius energy drinks do not contain alcohol. Therefore, if someone opens a can of the mislabeled Celsius, this could lead to unintentional alcohol ingestion.

What stores sold the High Noon and Celsius drinks?

The mislabeled High Noon boxes were shipped to retailers between July 21 and 23. They were sent to stores in Florida, Michigan, New York, Ohio, Oklahoma, South Carolina, Virginia and Wisconsin. No specific retailers have been identified, but if you live in these states and frequently purchase High Noon variety packs, you should check your box.
