HelloFresh Just Upgraded Its Menu: Here’s What’s New

I’ll be honest, I always feel a little guilty when takeout becomes a weekly habit. And while I know nothing beats a fresh, home-cooked meal, I also know grocery shopping and cooking daily isn’t always feasible when you’re juggling a full-time job, a household and a toddler (or a needy pet).

That’s why I’ve been leaning into meal kit delivery services like HelloFresh. If you’ve been thinking about giving it a try (or letting it return to your dinner table), here’s some good news: HelloFresh just revamped its menu.

I taste-tested a few of the new recipes. Here’s what you need to know about the brand’s refresh.

HelloFresh just gave its menu a refresh. And, after testing, we agree it’s a major upgrade.

What is new about HelloFresh in 2025?

The meal delivery service is bigger, better and more exciting! We’re talking more than 100 weekly recipes to choose from. (That’s the most variety we’ve seen from any meal kit delivery service we’ve tested.)

Expect more health-conscious recipes, globally inspired flavors and an upgrade in ingredients. (Think premium steak cuts, lamb shanks, crab cakes and more.) Plus, the brand has doubled the number of healthy options and packed in more seasonal veggies and legumes. Other upgrades include larger portions and more protein-packed meals. Whether you’re new to HelloFresh or coming back, there’s a lot to dig in to.

How We Tested

With bold claims of a bigger, better menu, we had to see if HelloFresh could back them up. I tried five new items ahead of the launch.

Packaging and Delivery

Having tested my fair share of meal delivery services for families, I’ve consistently been impressed by HelloFresh’s packaging. Everything arrives neatly organized, with no damaged ingredients. Temperature control is spot-on: meats are packed at the bottom on ice, with cold ingredients layered above, assuring they’re chilled, not soggy.

The recipe cards are another win. They’re large, easy to follow and packed with info like what you’re making, what you’ll need, calories, cook time and step-by-step instructions with photos. They also include tips and customization instructions for dishes that allow you to swap, add or double ingredients.

Taste

I tried a mix of HelloFresh’s revamped meal kits: Sweet & Spicy Shrimp Lo Mein, Homemade Bee Sting Pizza with Pepperoni and Hot Honey, Creamy Lemon-Herb Pork Chops and Garlicky Chicken with Kale Salad. I also tested two ready-made options: the Southwest-Style Chicken Bowl and Spiced Sweet Potato Curry with Roasted Peppers.

The lo mein was a huge hit: a quick 15-minute premium meal with restaurant-quality flavor. My partner, a lo mein superfan, had multiple servings. The shrimp was high quality, the sauces were simple and flavorful, and it all came together easily in one bowl.

My personal favorite? The pizza. It was fun to make with my toddler (she played with the flour while I rolled out the dough and licked the sauce containers as I topped the pies). It truly was a hit with everyone, from my picky one-year-old to her pizza-loving grandma.

The pork chops and chicken kits were simple, satisfying and elevated by flavorful sauces and dressings. Honestly, all four meal kits impressed us. There were no duds in the bunch, which is rare in my experience with meal kit delivery services.

The ready-made meals were solid. The curry was vegetarian, filling and tasty. The Southwest Chicken Bowl was good, too, though I still prefer the Tomatillo Pulled Pork with Rice meal from my last HelloFresh box.

Quality and Freshness

As mentioned, the packaging and quality of ingredients were impressive, especially the meats. I did notice some slight browning on the Brussels sprouts in the pork chops kit and on the bok choy and napa cabbage in the lo mein kit. While a bit disappointing (especially for a premium meal), it didn’t impact the flavor or overall experience.

This was one of the best meal kit deliveries I’ve had in some time. From convenience and ease to quality and taste, the new HelloFresh lineup is hard to beat, and my family is already asking for more.
