How Anthony Joshua’s key advice once helped Jake Paul’s arch-rival to beat his brother

Anthony Joshua has already aided in the defeat of one Paul.

‘AJ’ is less than a month away from his return to the boxing ring, having not competed since a crushing loss at Wembley Stadium over 14 months ago.

After Joshua was brutally knocked out by Daniel Dubois, the former two-time unified world champion has taken on a much different kind of contest.

Stepping in to replace Gervonta Davis after domestic abuse allegations resulted in him being pulled from a Netflix exhibition, Joshua will fight Jake Paul in the main event of a card on December 19 in Miami.

The bout will be a controversial one, given how polarizing Paul’s career in the ring has been since he transitioned from the YouTube scene. But it won’t be Joshua’s first time getting involved in the crossover boxing world.

What chance do you give Jake Paul of beating Anthony Joshua?

Anthony Joshua gave advice to KSI on preparing to fight Logan Paul

Jake is widely credited for being one of the key names who kickstarted the trend of celebrity and YouTube boxing. Among the others were his brother, Logan Paul, and his arch-rival, KSI.

While a long-discussed grudge match between Jake and KSI has never come to fruition, the British YouTube and rap star has shared the ring with Logan on two occasions.

After a majority draw in their 2018 amateur contest, KSI beat Logan in a professional bout the following year. And when it came to preparing himself to get the better of ‘Maverick’, the Londoner had a helping hand from Joshua.

“(Joshua) has just told me to train hard, remain focused and be calm,” KSI told Behind the Gloves regarding a training session with ‘AJ’ ahead of his rematch with the American.

“Be calm and relaxed in the gym. Even when I was training out there (in front of the public), I was relaxed.

“Obviously there was shouting and this and that, but I was calm. Calm and collected,” he continued.

“I know what I need to do. I’m in full zen, I’m ready.”

Logan Paul was worried about Jake Paul boxing Anthony Joshua

Jake’s upcoming boxing match with Joshua has come as good news for his haters who have long wished to see him handed a brutal defeat in the ring. They believe ‘AJ’ has a great chance of getting the knockout.

For those close to the 28-year-old, though, the booking is more worrisome.

That will likely be the case for Logan, who had a concerned reaction to Jake’s plan to box Joshua down the line when first hearing about it earlier this year.

“When you called out Anthony Joshua, were you on cocaine?” Logan said to his brother in a YouTube video.

“Why did you do that?”

When ‘The Problem Child’ responded by outlining his plan to take advantage of Joshua’s compromised chin and advance his world title ambitions, Logan was still not convinced.

“But he is still Anthony Joshua,” Logan said.

“You’re serious about fighting him? Congrats on having such massive b—- and also being super rich,” he added.
