The Premier League is back in business as Brighton & Hove Albion looks to fire up the new season with a win at home to Fulham on Saturday. The Seagulls host the Cottagers at the Amex Stadium, hoping to get an early three points on the board after beating Fulham for the first time as a Premier League outfit when these teams last met.
Marco Silva’s men managed to go more than six years without losing a top-flight game against Brighton before the west Londoners finally lost that record this past March. And Fabian Hurzeler will aim to make it back-to-back home wins over the same opponent following a very fruitful summer for the south-coast club.
The Seagulls are sailing into the new season with a transformed squad, most notably without Joao Pedro in their attack following his $70 million transfer to Chelsea. Among the new faces hoping to make an impact are Greek forward Charalampos Kostoulas and Belgian defender Maxim De Kuyper.
Fulham, on the other hand, has yet to complete a single outfield signing, with French goalkeeper Benjamin Lecomte being the only new signing of the summer period thus far. That being said, Silva has retained much of the same group that defeated Brighton on home soil last season and is hoping to repeat the feat in Falmer this weekend.
