Where Do Wyoming and Hawaii Stand Heading Into Week 14?

Wyoming is 4-7 this season, including a 2-5 record in Mountain West. The Cowboys fell 13-7 to Nevada last week, marking their second consecutive season without bowl eligibility and also the first time that’s happened since 2014-2015. That loss also extended their losing streak to three games. Their most recent victory, a 28-0 win over Colorado State, came on Oct. 25.

Meanwhile, Hawaii stands at 7-4 this season with a 4-3 Mountain West record. The Rainbow Warriors are coming off a 38-10 loss to UNLV, following a 38-6 win over San Diego State on Nov. 8.

Safety Peter Manuma is among the Hawaii players expected to make an impact against Wyoming.

“We love trophy games,” Manuma said. “We’re fully motivated. We’ll take out all our emotions from the UNLV game to this game. We have a great opponent coming in Wyoming, and they’ll try and play spoiler on us, and we just got to come out and play our game.”

Heading to the game, Hawaii ranks 64th in total offense and 60th in total defense this season. Meanwhile, Wyoming ranks 19th-worst in total yards per game. Still, it has been stronger defensively, sitting 40th in the FBS by allowing 337.6 yards per game.

In the PFSN College Football Offense Ranking, Hawaii is ranked No. 103 in the nation, while Wyoming sits at No. 126. Hawaii also ranks No. 67 in the PFSN College Football Defense Ranking. At the same time, Wyoming sits at No. 47.

Wyoming leads the series against Hawaii 17-11, including wins in two of the last three meetings. In those three games, Wyoming scored 83 points while conceding 67. From 1978 to 1997, the schools faced each other annually before the series resumed in 2013.

For today’s game, Hawaii is heavily favored against Wyoming’s struggling squad. A win would give them eight regular-season wins, marking their highest total since the 2019 season, when they advanced to the Mountain West championship game.
